Guest Report post Posted June 4, 2002 COME ON ! He is the one of the greatest of all time. Austin is washed up compared to what he was before, HBK used to be a LEGEND ! If ya compare HBK and Austin at their BEST, you will see that HBK is better. Why cant HBK come back from a career threatening injury and still be good. Why do you ppl have to be so cynical. Watch his 1996 stuff, drool and then tell us. He WILL be great and I hope to god he proves EVERYONE wrong !

Guest notJames Report post Posted June 4, 2002 ...He WILL be great and I hope to god he proves EVERYONE wrong ! According to recent reports, Michaels has no plans for in-ring action in the future. So he might not get that chance to prove himself. If that's the case, we're stuck with Michaels as the nWold's mouthpiece. And if history is any indication, I'm not looking forward to him rehashing his old repertoire of dick jokes and infantile humour. Also, reporst say that he's turned over a new leaf regarding his backstage demeanor: "Michaels apparently found that his behavior, while popular to some in the past, had worn out its welcome and was no longer welcomed by anyone. His new attitude is being met with positive reactions in the lockerroom. " Funny... they said the same thing about Hall... Guest razazteca Report post Posted June 4, 2002 will there be a Confidential special on how HBK got his smile back? Will HBK wrestle or just do the DX chop, cheering on XPac in singles matches? HBK vs Flair, will this match ever happen?
Guest Report post Posted June 4, 2002 Maybe, some of us just don't like him.... Or, just won't forgive him for the crap he has pulled in the past. Or, he's just an other "older" guy who's gonna take time away from the "Younger" up and comers.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 4, 2002 I don't think ANYONE on this board wants to see bad wrestling. If HBK comes back better than ever and wrestles ***** matches every show I doubt anyone would be sad. This said, I have never seen a ***** HBK match, his carry jobs have been overrated to high hell, I can't see him offering anything beneficial to the Wwf aside from 2 weeks worth of pops (trust, he is no Hogan), his 'greatness' has been overstated, Why can't HBK come back from a career threatening injury and still be good? Why do you have to be so naive? His last match in the Wwf was in 1998. Back injury or not, ring rust is there. Not only that, he is older, certainly not the heartbreak kid anymore, 'heartbreak middle-aged man trying to re-capture former glory' perhaps, but if you expect him to be back to anything near his top form, then you are kidding yourself. Expect the worst, hope for the best. Words to live by when watching the Wwf. Please tell me the GOOD that will come out of HBK in the NWO.
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted June 4, 2002 Hopefully not. It could have been so much, but hey you REALLY can't have every dream match or every fufillment you ever wanted with anything.
Guest Brian Report post Posted June 4, 2002 Unless he wrestles, he's not worth anything. And he wasn't as good as Austin.

Guest Report post Posted June 4, 2002 I did some minor marking out when Michaels first appeared, but, after the initial mild rush of excitement, I felt indifferent. I don't see why HBK's return would be any better than Hogan's (with the obvious difference being the former is far more talented than the latter).
Guest Report post Posted June 4, 2002 austin had better talent to work with. HBk was a better worker though, because he carried mostly shit. --Rob
Guest Report post Posted June 4, 2002 austin had better talent to work with. HBk was a better worker though, because he carried mostly shit. --Rob Bret, Owen, Davey, Mankind, and Vader were shit?
Guest Report post Posted June 4, 2002 davey was shit, american style vader was shittier than shit, mostly not his fault. Taker was shit as well. Diesel????? Anyone? --Rob
Guest Report post Posted June 4, 2002 Shawn Michaels got good matches out of Sid. Fucking Sid! Who--outside of maybe Bret Hart--can lay claim to that?
Guest Report post Posted June 4, 2002 So, because Vader changed his style that means he was a bad worker and had to be carried? Give me a break!
Guest Brian Report post Posted June 4, 2002 Did Austin wrestle Sid or Diesel? I'd say his matches with a totally out of it Undertaker in 1998 while injured were as good, if not better, than Michaels (with the exception of the gimmick). Considering Diesel and Shawn were good friends, and Diesel would rarely work as hard with anyone other than his Kliq mates, no one else really had a chance. Vader was still decent most of his WWF run, albeit not nearly as stiff or as well-rounded.
Guest Report post Posted June 4, 2002 fuck that, vader fuckin sucked in the wwf. Don;t get me wrong, vader owns in ajpw. I'll take a vader/misawa match anyday of the week but.. If any strong style worker trys to come to america they suck. Before vader went strong style, he was the shit in america, but once he went for the ss, he couldn;t go back. --Rob
Guest Report post Posted June 4, 2002 Austin's matches with Undertaker WERE good. HBK v Taker was one of the best of all time !
Guest Report post Posted June 4, 2002 best hiac ever. --Rob
Guest Brian Report post Posted June 4, 2002 But they had a gimmick to work off. All told it was still a very good match, but they never could recapture that without the gimmick. Plus Austin was injured. What people forget is basically during the entire run of Austin's peak years, he was injured. Knees, neck, back. He was never even near healthy, and was facing injuries that for many guys would end a career or at least warrant time off. And HBK's strength is in laying out matches and bumping. Minus the bumping and he's practically nothing.
Guest Report post Posted June 4, 2002 Shawn could almost be considered a "spot" Wrestler.
Guest Report post Posted June 4, 2002 austin gets lots of credit and respect for the shit he has pulled off, but hbk wasn't hurt most of those matches, after taking all those crazy bumps, RIIIIIIGHT! --Rob
Guest Report post Posted June 4, 2002 Except for the HIAC and the flip over the turn buckle @ WM12, I can't think of any "Crazy" bumps.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted June 4, 2002 Face it people HBK is just another blast from the past that WWeee hopes will bring the ratings back. It will change nothing and HBK will be gone within 6 months. But rest assure that this won't be the last deperation move that doesn't need to be made. But who needs new stars when we can have a parade of broken down gimps. If anyone thinks HBK coming back is going to save WWeee you're mistaken. The guy didn't even get to talk on his big return so it's obvious that they don't have any thing big planned with him.
Guest Brian Report post Posted June 4, 2002 Not seriously, at least at the time I don't remember anyone reporting it. But, if you want to compare HBK's short two months from RR to WM to Austin's run from SS 1997 to when he left for surgery, go ahead.
Guest Report post Posted June 4, 2002 Except for the HIAC and the flip over the turn buckle @ WM12, I can't think of any "Crazy" bumps. did you ever see micheals wrestle? because you say that shit and then call him a spot wrestler. I can't belive that you have seen him wrestle before. --Rob
Guest Brian Report post Posted June 4, 2002 El Santanico, I think it's just a case of the WWE baiting people to watch next week at not any indication of what or how much they have planned of him.
Guest Report post Posted June 4, 2002 No, No I haven't seen him "Wrestle." (Sarcasm)
Guest Cubbie78 Report post Posted June 4, 2002 'heartbreak middle-aged man trying to re-capture former glory' just to set the record straight, my understanding is that he was barely in his 20s when he was in the AWA with the midnight rockers, and rewatching a midnight rockers -buddyrose/doug sommers match from 1986, a commentator said he was 20, so that would make him 36....How old is Austin?..36-37 maybe, so there you go, I wouldnt exactly call him "middle-age"..
