Guest JMTapes Report post Posted June 5, 2002 When I first saw Brock, everything he did seemed like it was leading up to something huge. That continued until his matches stopped ending via ref's decision. Now, it seems like he's just another heel. He doesn't seem to have that special thing about him that he did when he debuted. Also, is it true that HHH vetoed the ref's decision finishes for his matches? That's legitimately been bothering me inside (I know, I gotta get a life) and made me FUCKING hate HHH. Your thoughts, comments are welcomed. www.jmtapes.com
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted June 5, 2002 Well, it looks like he's headed for a feud with RVD, which will probably lead to him winning his first title. Trust me. The WWF is doing the right thing with Brock. If they push him too hard, he will run his course in a year, and just end up being another Goldberg. They are thinking about the longterm. I know I complain alot about the WWF, but I think they are right here. Actually, I don't think he should beat RVD even, but its going to happen. I don't like RVD, but something I like even worse is these 1 month title reigns.
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted June 5, 2002 It was reported in the observer that HHH did have an influence with Vince as to stopping the ref stoppage endings with Brock. Now I don't think it is right for HHH to stick his nose in other workers programs. It's just wrong. Double fuck you to Vince for going with it. However I am in the minority that the gimmick of monster in wrestling is kind of boring and not very compelling. There aren't many people for Brock to start squashing on the Raw roster as far as small people. The raw roster also has giants like the big show, Nash, Bradshaw, Kane, and what have you. When put next to these guys, Brock isn't so big. I know he has freakish strength and all, but as a visual it doesn't look great. Plus if Lesnar started getting into the upper echelon of the raw ranks, I don't see the top guys liking the idea of having ref stoppages. Not one of them. Austin, Taker, Benoit, not one of them. The SD roster would be even worse in trying to get people to do ref stoppages. I just think in this political envirionment, the monster gimmick has gone the way of the dinosaur. They should just concentrate on Lesnar being a freak of strength and an amazing physical specimen. But keep his win streak intact for awhile. That is one gimmick that still can have an impact and be compelling.
Guest Report post Posted June 5, 2002 But keep his win streak intact for awhile. That is one gimmick that still can have an impact and be compelling. True, but they can't make it the focus of his character, otherwise they'll just end up with another Goldberg. Yes, Goldburg did draw, but once he lost it was over for him. They should build Brock up as a monster with freakish strength who just happens to be undefeated. That way, when someone actually beats him, instead of destroying his character, it could enhance a huge ass feud with whoever pins him.
Guest notJames Report post Posted June 5, 2002 Forget the freakish strength... I wanna see him bust out his actual wrestling skillz. If Angle can get this far with that at 230 lbs. (granted, he's also got a shitload of charisma), can you imagine what a near-300 pounder with grappling skillz would do to a crowd? Especially if he threw in some submission maneuvers? And yes, he seems to be on track to feud with RVD. This should get interesting...
Guest Ravenbomb Report post Posted June 5, 2002 How about a near 300 pound grappler with wrestling skills, freakish strength that happens to be undefeated and can do a shooting star press?
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted June 5, 2002 I think if they let Brock use real wrestling moves he could get seriously over, with both the size and the moveset. But, since they probably won't do that, after the RVD feud (gee, I wonder who will go over there?) I see him losing the Next Big Thing moniker to become the Next Heat Jobber. Guest Report post Posted June 5, 2002 The WWE has done a great job with Brock, his current "feud" with Bubba Ray is surprisingly entertaining. The writers were able to make him look like an absolute monster when he debuted and were able to build a fair amount of hype for his first ever wrestling match. Brock MUST languish in the mid-card for as long as possible, at least until they clear out some of the dead-wood in the main event to make way for superstars like Angle, Benoit, Kane and other borderline main eventers. Once they're out of the way, Brock can help lead a new mid-card with RVD, Eddie, Booker T, Test, Edge and Christian. If Brock is pushed too far too fast, he'll just end up like all the other borderline main eventers, always on the outside looking in. I'm seeing Brock in a feud with the I.C belt sometime around Summerslam. Where he will lose his first match to RVD. After that? Who knows
Guest Sakura Report post Posted June 5, 2002 BROCK~! has already lost his first match. And I am hoping he is heading to Heat because he is totally L-A-M-E. Oohhhh a monster. Right. Whatever. The man looks like a penis. That just isn't intimidating.
