Guest Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Ok, I know that this is 1998 so it technically does not fall into the time frame of this forum, but this has been bugging me and I need an answer. Back in the Spring/Summer of 1998, Sable lost that match to Marc Mero at Over the Edge, I believe, whereby she had to leave the WWF. She returned to RAW a few weeks later with Vince McMahon. The question I have is: did they ever explain how, or why Vince brought her back? Did it have anything to do with Sable becoming Edge's partner at Summerslam that year? I don't recall them giving a reason for that either. Any help would be appreciated.
Guest Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 I believe they did... I THINK Vince McMahon brought Sable back out to sign a special contract which allowed *him* personally to control sable's career. I think Vince stated that he 'isn't such a bad guy and this proves it ,as he was being nice and giving the fans what they wanted'. I know Steve Austin soon came out and proceeded to hold up Sable's middle finger and direct it to Vince. That's pretty much all your humble Taker Mark can remember... This has been the...oh you know the rest
Guest Youth N Asia Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 If we did a whole thread of angles that got dropped for no reason we could be here all day. Stevie Richards and Blue Meanies "Blonde Bitch Project" The briefcase raising at KOR 99 and on and on and on...
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 I'm pretty sure she came back as an employee of Titan Sports rather than the WWF.
Guest Mark4steamboat Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 Hogan, are you meaning in storyline or real life? Cause in real life, she sued the crap out of the wwf and got a pretty good settlement because of it.
Guest Posted June 5, 2002 Report Posted June 5, 2002 basically, they were toying with a storyline similar to recent Vince ones (Trish, Torrie, Stacey). He was going to have control over Sable and make her do his bidding. For whatever reason, they never went through with it. Oh, and someone mentioned the raising of the briefcase during that one Austin match. Austin and Pat Patterson have both said in interviews that it was never intended to be anyone in particular doing that to Austin, just more of McMahon's all-encompasing screwing over of him.

That sounds very WCW-like (AKA idiotic).
Guest papacita Posted June 6, 2002 Report Posted June 6, 2002 I always assumed Boss Man was behind it. That actually would've made sense.
Guest dreamer420 Posted June 6, 2002 Report Posted June 6, 2002 i figured the bossman too. it just seemed like something he would do for vince and shane-o
Guest Posted June 6, 2002 Report Posted June 6, 2002 i figured the bossman too. it just seemed like something he would do for vince and shane-o Sorry to get off the topic but dreamer..is that LITA in your avatar? She looks....different if that is the case This has been the Taker Mark
Guest dreamer420 Posted June 6, 2002 Report Posted June 6, 2002 that is lita. since she got injured I have put a different pic of her in my avatar everyday.
Guest Posted June 7, 2002 Report Posted June 7, 2002 i figured the bossman too. it just seemed like something he would do for vince and shane-o I remember reading somewhere than Shane wanted it to be Steve Blackman that moved the briefcase as a way to help get blackman over
Guest dreamer420 Posted June 7, 2002 Report Posted June 7, 2002 why did shane have such a hard-on for steve blackman? he even tried to put blackman in the main event at KOTR 99 until GTV reveiled that he wasn't injured.
