I know Crush, Terrance Mason, and Savio Vega were also in it.  There was also PG-13 as two white rapper guys.  I believe Ahmed Johnson had a short stint in it as well.  There was also a version of it in USWA, involving PG-13, the Spellbinder, Jackie, and a few others.  I am probably forgetting a few members though.

There were a bunch of other guys that never did anything too.  D'Lo started as one of them.

For perspective's sake, the original incarnation was Faarooq, Crush, Savio Vega and a bunch of goons with Clarence Mason.

Then Crush and Savio got fired, forming The DOA and Los Boricuas to wage Vince Russo's Gang Warz brainfart.  Faarooq reinvented The NOD with himself, Kama Mustafa, D'Lo Brown and a heel-turned Ahmed Johnson.  Ahmed I think forgot he was heel and just went face again, so Rocky Maivia returned to take his place.

IMO, the Faarooq, Rocky, D'Lo, Kama version was the group's high point, as Rocky began mugging for the cameras and generally turning into a superstar before our eyes, completely overshadowing Faarooq as leader of the outfit then ultimately turning on him.

I hated the PG-13 rapping at first, but after a while I absolutely loved it.  As politically questionable as it was to parody the Nation Of Islam, it was pretty damn cool seeing everyone do the NOD salute before matches with their theme rumbling away menacingly in the background.  Ah, simpler times...

When Rocky gave the nation gold watches and farooq a picyure of Rocky himself was golden.

Damn I'm gonna go watch Best Of Raw 1997-1999.

It may be the same Attitude, but at least it was original.

Guest What?!

Was Ahmed getting kicked out explained by Faarooq saying he wasn't strong enough to be NOD when Ahmed got injured?

That's how I remembered it, but I'm not sure.

But yeah, Rock version was the best which lead him to be my fave wrestler ever. Especially his "The Rock thinks you should fire him Vince" line about Austin.

Probably, cuz Ahmed got injured more times in 97 than anyone I've ever seen.

The week after he joined, he blew his knee out and didn't come back until August, and got kicked out in his return match.

Apparently, he got injured again during the attack, and came back at Raw in MSG as a face...and injured his hand against the Rock.  From what I can remember, he got injured at least one more time before being released in 98.

Was anyone an actually Ahmed Johnson fan?  I couldn't stand him because of his in ring work and his monster push that he received.

some more members from the USWA version included Mo (from Men on a Mission), Big Black Dog (renamed to something I can't remember) and owner Randy Hales as Randy X.

Also, at least one of those guys in the WWF that just stood around and never actually wrestled was a guy named Al Rage. He and another "lackey" member (whose name I can't remember) worked in Houston indies for a while afterwards.

I think everyone here was an Ahmed Johnson fan at one point. Well, before they knew he was actually hurting people in the ring.

I was anyways. I skipped '95 due to suckiness, but when I began watching again, Ahmed was kicking everyone's ass, so I became a fan.

really.  i hated him right from the start of his wwf career.  i didn't like his style in the ring, or his moveset and he bored me.  I was a hart foundation mark the entire time he was there so i never really paid close attention to him.

Ahmed was the fucking man. I was still a fan of his even after he joined the Nation...he just got injured too damn much.

he in ring work always seems so sloppy and rushed.  he just didn't seem like he belonged in a wrestling ring.

The original incarnation @ survivor series 96 was Farooq the goons (and Dlo), PG13 and clarence mason.

their entrance looked like a Tyson entrance with the crazy enterouge. Personally i think it should have stayed like that.

Crush was added after that.

Savio came after , turning on Ahmed in a tag match.

Rock joined in a match on Raw, in i thingk the first time Jr called him that. He was seen in the crowd. 'hey its rocky maivia..its great to have the blue chipper, the rock back..wait a minute WHAT THE HELL???"

To the Ahmed debate, he was over cause he brought intensity..it just turned out to be too much. There was interst in the Taker - Ahmed match that was born in may-jun of 97. too bad he got a(nother) injury and lost his shot to Vader at Canadian Stampede. Minus his faults at least the guy seemed like he had some passion towards his character and performance.

Could someone in the WWF/WWE really explain with a straight face why the hell Owen was in there?

the unions music was pretty good, the only thing that really sucked was that lame voice yelling UNION before it kicked in.

Man that RAW after Ahmed turned on Undertaker and came out with the Nation wearing that doo-rag and a black tanktop personified every white man's fear of a strong independent black man (and you KNOW it's true).  It was so cool when he said to Vince:

"If you ever cross your eyes at a black man again, I'll knock you ass out"  something to that effect.  To bad he immediately proceeded to get injured in that brawl with the D.O.A, cause millitant Ahmed was cool for the 5 minutes he existed.
