Guest Whatmaniac Report post Posted June 6, 2002 The problem with using Angle to get people over is that he is the only one doing it so it just makes him look weak. If the other ME were getting people over it would not look as bad, but when there is only one ME doing it it will make him stand out as weaker. Besides the fact Angle was never in a position to give the big rub to begin with IMO. While it is true that Angle main evented I don't think he was in the upper echelon. You figure he had been in the ME consistently since Summerslam 2001- Vengeance then he got knocked back down again. This was not really enough time to build Angle up as a ME who could lose yet retain his status. Actually, Triple H has been putting various midcarders over these past few weeks and he did help put Jericho and Beniot over last year along with Austin. It was Jericho's phantom title win over Triple H in 2000 that got people thinking that Jericho was main event material. He also put over Kane for the IC title a few years ago. In addition, he has put over a few others as well. Austin put over Beniot last year by making him look very good in their matches together. He also put over RVD in a match last October. Undertaker has put over Booker T, Test, RVD, and is currently helping to get Tommy Dreamer over. Kane put over Albert as a legitimate contender for the IC title. It is not like the other main eventers have been idle while Angle does all the work. P.S. Angle had been main-eventing in late 2000 and early 2001 as well. If a two time WWF champion, grand slam champion, who has main evented hundreds of shows is not considered upper echelon and does not have much rub to give, then who pray tell does? Guest Report post Posted June 6, 2002 Run with Angle-Hogan should be great promos from Angle, possibly a decent match and put Angle over (the key) um.....what? Do you think Angle has even a remote, minute chance of beating Hogan. I don't mean to sound like Anglesault here, but think about it. He just got his ass slapped all over the place by Hogan's little buddy, plus, now they have the "you hurt edge, dude! *hulks up*) angle. Come to think of it, WWE reaction to injury is to act like the injured doesn't exist, so scratch that. Point is,no way Angle beats Hogan. And while I'm at it, no way Taker beats HHH, no way Jericho wins KOTR, no way Christian and Storm are even ON THE SHOW! WHO BOOKED THIS CRAP! sorry. you get the point, though. HHH is responsible for putting Jericho in the ME. By pretending that he let him win for 5 minutes? Or by proceeding to beat him in every single type of match for the next 2 years? Or by killing his title run? You have to go back to October to see the last time Austin elevated someone. And no, beating Benoit and Eddy in the inevitable handicap match does not count. Taker is getting Dreamer over? by beating him in 3 minutes and pouring puke on him? I guess he got Flair's kid over too. He beat the shit out of him in a public shower, you know. And Kane's not even a main eventer. 'Sault doesn't say Angle looks weaker than the other top guys just because it's Angle. Well.....maybe he does. But everyone else says it because it's clearly true. Since Angle lost his second title he's fought every bum under the sun.
Guest Report post Posted June 6, 2002 Who to push to the upper-mid/lower-upper card? Who better than Kanyon? He's coming back, you know.
Guest What?! Report post Posted June 6, 2002 I say just put D'Lo in the Smackdown roster. Honestly, he only made one Raw appearance that lasted all of one minute. No one's going to notice that he's at the wrong brand.
