Guest Report post Posted June 6, 2002 Despite the fact South Park episodes aren't controversial anymore, the show still makes me laugh. This last season they had had me rolling on the floor. I also like how the creators are still shilling out funny shit without being controversial. Even though South Park isn't as popular as it was back in 1998, the show is still one of the highest rated shows on Comedy Central and the creators say they have enough episodes for another two years. So does anyone else like South Park?
Guest RevEvil Report post Posted June 6, 2002 I'm happy that they're going to play the nambla episode again.

Guest Ravenbomb Report post Posted June 6, 2002 Even though Matt Stone came off as a dick in this ESPN interview, I still like the show
Guest Anorak Report post Posted June 6, 2002 South Park's always been too inconsistant to be my favourite show, some episodes are brilliant but too many are uninspired and a bit tedious. Cartman is a classic TV character, the episodes where he was at fat camp and thought he was Steve Irwin were two of my favourites.
Guest Mark4steamboat Report post Posted June 6, 2002 Did anyone see trey and matt when they were on dennis miller a few years back? One of my favorite DML episodes. South Park is one of those shows that never gets old IMO. I always watch my south park tapes from the older days when it was a little more controversial but trey and matt are mixing things up enough so that SP is still a very enojoyable show. Guest Report post Posted June 6, 2002 The guys converted to Catholicism so they are watching what they make a show about. Jesus and Pals, Gay Satan, and that alien looking creature God are no longer on the show. Still, they do shock me so I enjoy it.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted June 6, 2002 THEY SOLD OUT TO CATHOLICISM?! Trey Parker is no longer my idol... I will now cry myself to sleep.

Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted June 6, 2002 i tried to watch an episode last night and it was the unfunniest thing I have ever seen. it was some south park classics show with pip as the star and it had him travelling to london. i had to shut it off because it sucked so bad. Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted June 6, 2002 Trey and Stone used to do nothing but parody religion, remember? Satan vs. Jesus, Jesus as one of the Super Best Friends, God = Platypus, etc. And now they're members of the most widely acknowledged oppressive faction of the Christian religions? WHAT THE FUCK?! Sorry, but I have a big beef with Catholicism... And where did you hear that they became Catholics?
Guest Mark4steamboat Report post Posted June 7, 2002 Well there go the hopes of having Cartman becoming an alter boy and getting raped by a preist.

Sorry, but I have a big beef with Catholicism... And where did you hear that they became Catholics? I heard them say it in an interview. Oppressive? And I don't believe the Super Best Friends being a parody of religion. Dude, the Pip episode was the worst episode of South Park ever. Why do you think they have never repeated it on Comedy Central. You picked the wrong episode to watch dude. The rest are funny.
Guest Report post Posted June 7, 2002 Well there go the hopes of having Cartman becoming an alter boy and getting raped by a preist. LOL. I heard they converted as a forgiveness to God for making fun of him these past 8 years. They are now sending a message with their show which is why all the shows have a lesson in them which actually makes sense.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted June 7, 2002 Yeah the Pip episode isn't a good episode to start on. I enjoyed the episode just because i knew they made it just to fuck with the fans. It reminded me of when Kaufman read some serious and long book for like the entire 2 hours of his stand up act. You sure this Catholic thing is real? Those two like to fuck with people so you sure that they were serious?
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted June 7, 2002 The bait-and-switch with "Terrance and Phillip" in place of the Cartman's dad episode was hilarious. The show hasn't been worth shit since the second season, though. This last season was really excruciating.
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted June 7, 2002 I haven't watched South Park in years, so I really wouldn't know if it's really funny or not. When I watched it, I'd say it was pretty inconsistent... some of it would be hella funny, and the rest of it (or even the same material on a second viewing) would just be totally stupid. I don't understand why either Stone or Parker would convert to Catholicism, especially since one of 'em is Jewish, which isn't the difference between night and day but certainly night and noon, especially "out of the blue" like this. I don't believe it, but if they did and changed their show to fix that, you can either respect them for sticking to their beliefs and not making shows built on subjects that they have strong moral opinions on now, or you can hate them and call them sell-outs for changing a show built largely on religious parody and "controversy" to fit their beliefs. Both are true, if this news were true, but it's not so it doesn't matter.
Guest Mark4steamboat Report post Posted June 7, 2002 I thought last season was great. The addition of Butter's was a good twist and the way they selected him was funny too. Kenny was getting extremely old and the running gag had become stupid by the second season.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted June 7, 2002 Hey, I like the newer episodes a lot better, and the message thing just makes the show that much cooler. Especially the one about stem-cell research...that was fucking hilarious. And yes, Keith's Biggest Fan, I said "oppressive." Do you need to be reminded of the Inquisition? The opposition to Lutheran teachings? The silent consent to the slave trade? I don't bash a religion before I study it. But, seriously, if you believe in what you do, all the more power to you. I'm willing to bet it's a really big joke. They're known to do shit like this. And yes...Andy Kaufman would read The Great Gatsby just to fuck with the people at his shows when they wanted Latka from "Taxi" instead of Andy's routine. Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted June 8, 2002 I didn't see a few seasons of South Park due to the fact I didn't Comedy Central for nearly 2 years. Now that they're in repeats I'm seeing many episodes for the first time (NAMBLA, the state flag controversary, sex ed) and most of them are pure gold! Sure there are a few that miss the mark for me, but hell, I watch WWE teleivsion, and South Park is a much better investment of my time some weeks that Raw or Smackdown! One a side note, Jesus and his Super Best Friends Club could teach children more about religious tolerance than any politically correct, multi-cultural crap spewed by the public education system. Guest Report post Posted June 8, 2002 Like I said, they ended Jesus and Pals, Gay Satan, and alien looking God so they must be legit about Catholicism now. I think the Vatican apologized for all the oppression they forced upon other fatihs. The Super Best Friends was an excellent episode that showed the stupidity of fightinng over religion when they all teach the same thing: Love. More props to Stone and Parker for creating a thought provoking episode. I think they also made that episode to end the religous controversy. Hey, just because they stopped making fun of Christianity doesn't mean they stopped making fun of minorioties. Remember the episode when they thought Butter's killer was "Some Puerto Rican Guy"?
