When I go onto Firefox, it directs me to French Google, and on some sites I have French adverts.

How an I get it fixed?

The language is set up as English, it just thinks I'm based in France.

Maybe it's getting confused by my IP.

It shouldn't be, unless you're using proxies.

Or you goofed around with your geographical settings in Windows.

Hey ya'll this is completely off topic and I might come off like the dumb hick that I am by asking this, but what is the origin of the "excuse my French" phrase, what does it mean, and why??

To check your Regional Settings, click Start, then point to Settings, and then Control Panel. On the Control Panel, double-click on Regional and Language Settings. That's the directions for Windows 2000. For Windows XP, skip "point to Settings," and click on the Control Panel.
