SJL Crimson Card - June 9

Recommended Posts

Guest HVilleThugg

SJL Crimson - Sunday, June 9th

Live from Baltimore Arena in Baltimore, MD

Due Date - Sunday, 3pm Board Time

Note: The next show, probably called Metal, will be the following Thursday, whose card will be posted by Crusen along with this show.  Send all promos for Crimson and booking requests for Metal to him.

The Card

Hardcore Handicap Match - Send to Thoth

CIA & Cuttroat vs Mike Van Siclen

- On Metal, MVS attacked CIA for some reason or another, you'll have to read that show to find out.  Edwin likes it when the JL gets new talent, so he takes offense when they get beat up on their second day.  So, to punish MVS, Edwin has booked him in this hardcore match with CIA, except CIA gets a partner, while MVS must go it alone.

Match Description - DQ and count-out rules are NOT in effect.  Falls MUST take place inside the ring.  All 3 men are in the ring at one time as CIA and Cuttroat are not required to tag in and out.

Word Limit - 3500

Three-way Match - Send to TheBostonStrangler

Impact vs. Thor vs. Fugue

- Thor defeated Impact on Metal, while Fugue took a loss to the impressive newbie CIA.  As all three men here are still trying to get their feet wet and win over the SJL fans, on Sunday, they will square off against one another in a 3-way matcup.  Will Thor continue his winning ways to make it 2 in a row and impress the higher ups?  Or will Fugue or Impact show that his win was a fluke, and walk away with the W?

Match Description - DQ and count-out rules are in effect.  All three men are in the ring at once.  Pinfalls, submissions, and KOs must happen in the ring.

Word Limit - 3500

Singles Match - Send to Longdogger_Pete

#1 Contendership to the European Championship

"TNT" Taylor Nicholas Thompson vs "Insane Luchadore" Andrew Rickmen

- Finally, after what seemed like a eternity, TNT lost the TV title to Mak Francis on Metal.  To reward his long reign as champion, Edwin is giving him a shot at the European title, currently held by Frost, but he must go through the veteran Rickmen to get there.

Match Description - DQ and count-out rules are in effect.  Falls MUST take place inside the ring.  The winner will take on Frost for the European Title on Metal

Word Limit - 4500

Six-Man Tag Team Match - Send to Grand Slam

X Force 9 (Ced Ordonez, Z) & Tod deKindes vs. sWo (Flexxx, Poisyn) & Mak Francis

- In a huge event on Metal, the impressive newcomer, Mak Francis, used the help of the sWo (formerly New Sound), Flexxx and Poisyn, to win the TV title from TNT.  Has Francis joined the group, finally making them a stable?  Or was it just a one time thing?  Well, he'll team up with the sWo, lead by returning WFer Chris Wilson, to take on X Force 9 and Tod deKindes, and maybe we'll find out if Francis has in fact joined this new faction for good, or not.  With Chris Wilson at ringside, who knows what kind of devious plan may be set into action.  Will the former SWF World Champion let his boys play fair?  Will he do anything to help them win?  Or is there some bigger plan in the works from the evil mastermind?  The possibilities are endless when you put the SJL's 2 top stables, and the evil genius of Chris Wilson in the same place at the same time.  This matchup is a DON'T MISS!

Match Description - DQ and count-out rules are in effect.  Falls MUST take place inside the ring.  Only 2 men are allowed in the ring at one time.

Word Limit - 5000

45-Minute Iron Man Match - Send to Edwin MacPhisto

For the SJL World Heavyweight Title

Sydney Sky vs. "Deathwish" Danny Williams

- On Metal, Williams won his chance to face Sydney by defeating both Z and Ced Ordonez.  Now he gets his shot, but here in the JL, you don't just get shots...you gotta work to win the title.  So Syd and Williams will fight it out in an iron man match that's sure to keep the crowd jumping, and make up for a short card.

Match Description - DQ and count-out rules are in effect.  Falls MUST take place inside the ring.  There is a 45-minute time limit on the match.  At the end of the time limit, the person with the most falls to their credit wins.  Falls include pins, submissions, KOs, DQs, and countouts.  After every fall, there is a ten second rest period, counted aloud by the ref, before the match continues.

Word Limit - 6000

Quite a nice card. The 6 man tag thing should be a good one, and the main event ought to be a doozy.

Can Deathwish and Syd live up to high standard of the last 45 minute iron man match, done by none other than your's truly against Erek Taylor? I certainly hope so, and i'll be eagerly waiting to read the match.

Question...

Does anyone think that the word limits on the last couple of matches are too long for the JL?  I don't remember ever seeing a 6000 word limit in the JL before.  My thinking was that it's an iron man match and it's a rather big deal, so I wanted to give them more words to work with.  The 6-man tag, well...there's 6 people to deal with, so I thought more words would help.

I honestly think that's fine... I've seen more than 6000 HVT. If a match is 45 minutes than that's a nice ammount I'd suppose, how many words would you suppose would be two or three minutes? (Real question not a answer in your head to answer your own question HVT).

I've seen up to 7000 word matches and have taken part in a few of them here. In my mind, the usual base of 3500 words I attribrute to a Raw quicky match, but it all depends on how you personally measure and dictate the pacing.

I tend to lean towards longer word limits simply because I'm wordy, and I can't stand having to cut things outof my match.  But not everyone's like me, and since people usually let the word limits dictate the match they write, I wasn't sure if it was too much.

Oh, and IL, what was that last statement...it didn't make any sense!  The one in the parenthases...huh?

Damn, Thugg!  That card rules.  I especially love the six-man and the main event.  Should be great.

And I think your word limits are fine, so dun worry.

Okay Thugg... what I meant was if you have ever asked a teacher a question and they ask you a simpler question back. So that when you answer that question it makes you answer your own question.

I was saying it wasn't one of those... I was curious what everyone thinks. Like -insert word limit- is 5 minutes.
