How to improve ratings

Recommended Posts

RAW is rated higher than Smackdown! because its a live show. Fans are able to see what is on Smackdown! and they can watch if they think it sounds good.

RAW should have their lineup announced a few days before the show on TNN comericals or velocity or something so fans know what matches are happening. If they had announced RVD vs Eddy in a Ladder match ahead of time the ratings would probably have been higher

Well, that makes no sense. You contradict yourself.

And this thing called good writing could improve ratings. I think.

I agree about your idea to raise the ratings.  although the way I look at it is that everyone who really wanted to watch that match last monday probably did. i believe a 4.0 in the ratings is about equal to the number of hardcore wrestling fans who will tune in week in and week out regardless.  i think the drop can be attributed to the end of the attitude era in the wwe.  the fans who turn on wrestling for the violence, sex, and swearing, have tuned out and that was a major portion of the audience from 98-01.

Thing is, all of you keep forgetting that cable ratings and broadcast ratings count differently. Each cable rating point equals fewer viewers than each broadcast rating point.

I don't have the desire to do the math, but I don't think the actual number of viewers for the shows is that different.

A bomb exploding in the writer/booker's meeting.

(please do not do this, legal blah blah.. all comment made in humor in light of poor work on the part of the writer/booking team)

They should be more worried about getting people to show up to the arenas.
