Guest J*ingus Report post Posted June 7, 2002 Is it just me, or is WW(F)E television being a lot less neat-&-tidy when it comes to their commercial breaks recently? It seems like they've had a lot of segments that have been interrupted by commercials, or started before the show came back on (like the battle royal on SD, the main event on Raw). It's a lot more like the older days, when that kind of thing was common, as opposed to 2000 and onward when the WWF made everything fit just perfectly in between the breaks. Personally, I like the less-neat interrupted version more, it feels a lot more realistic and less pre-planned. What do you guys think?
Guest JHawk Report post Posted June 7, 2002 I agree. It's almost as if they're being sure to give everything at least a little bit more time to develop. By the way, notice that even with SmackDown cutting down certain entrances and seemingly going to commercials early, they still didn't have time to fit in D-Von vs. Faarooq? Not that I'm complaining, mind you, but I remember thinking, "Two more matches, that means 4 minutes of Hogan..."
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted June 7, 2002 I brought this up a while ago. They interrupted the RVD Guererro Ladder match on RAW. The thing is, they didnt have the forethought to show what happened durring the break. Its a good idea to me: Take a wrestling match that would have to be 2-5 minutes long because they gotta have a commercial break every 5 seconds, and instead insert said commercial in the middle of the match and give em 10 or 12 minutes + for the match. Granted you might lose another match (or backstage skit, which is actually a good thing IMO) but it still is a good idea.
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted June 7, 2002 Wow, you work fast with your capture card dontcha? The thing is, they didnt have the forethought to show what happened durring the break. Usually when that kind of thing happens, nothing happens during the break. The referee lets the wrestlers know that they're going to commercial, and they go to a chinlock or something until they return.
