Keep your shit confined to Gang Warz, then.

Who are you to tell me what to do? :D

"Do you any of you guys want to see my picture?"

Trying to make me out to be a homosexual is lame and childish. I have a girlfriend. I got no problems with homosexuals though, it's their choice.

Probably. But they differentiate themselves with their distinct choice of catchphrases...

wildpegasus - "Yes" (as in the Would You thread)

missingear - "Wanna fight my cousin?"

I don't think it's a choice.

That's your theory, me personally, I think it's a choice to be homosexual.

Considering how gays are and have been treated in society since well, like, forever, why would anyone actually choose to be gay of their own free will? Like, think about it. What kind of a person thinks to themself "You know, I could be heterosexual and fit in with normal society, but I think I'd rather ostracize myself and make my life a lot more difficult then it needs to be!"

Or, to put it another way: When did you *choose* to like girls?

That is by far the stupidest thing you've ever spewed onto this board, equal with threatening real violence in the MMA folder.

A person canit choose to be attracted to any one type of person. Same as they can't choose to like certain things more then others.

They can have it beaten into thier heads to think a certain way, however.

I've had this debate many times. I personally don't think it's as much as choice to choose to be homosexuals, but I think it's developed at an early age.

Call me stupid, dumb and all the childish insults you would want(Seriously fuck off Adam, your hating on me isn't cool, I'm not even paying attention to you so stop asking for my attention), and while it makes no sense in the world why homosexuals would choose to be gay, at the same time I think it's kind of self control. I mean what about trans-sexuals? They choose that lifestyle KNOWNING they are going to catch heat for it.

One time I wounder upon a good argument towards this issue at another message board, which I found very interesting. I saved it on my computer. You guys should give it a read...

I have no ill will towards homosexuals. I support gay rights

and human equality for all. However, in the spirit of academia

and general boredom, I have decided to take a closer look at

the “are blacks and gays the same” article. In doing so, I

have encountered certain arguments that I have yet to find a

way around. Additionally, the article also claimed that

homosexuality can be found in nature, but I don’t buy it. Why?

Well, the devil can quote scripture to serve his own purpose.

The author tries to create this broad and deep meaning for

“what is homosexuality” then goes on to say this same complex

and multifaceted behavior is also exhibited by animals? Does

that make sense to you?

The only reason the author sited the “scientific research” was

to probably aid his credibility in order to appeal to the

audience. After all, science is seen as one of the most

credible and authentic forms of evidence. If you can get the

science to agree with it, then it will not be as easily

disputed as opposed to anecdotal evidence and the like.

Even so, some scientists might feel some sympathy for the gay

community and decide to “go along” with it as a means of

promoting human tolerance. And there is NOTHING wrong with

that, I’m just saying the author needs to keep his ducks in a row.

He can’t define homosexuality among humans but miraculously is

able to define it among animals? Yeah ok. By using animals as

an example the author basically defines homosexuality as a

behavior because isn’t that what animals do?

And on with the show…………..

In the article, the author argued that if homosexuality is a

choice, then heterosexuality must be a choice as well. After

doing some thinking, I have reason to believe this argument

might be false, because when placed in the context of

evolutionary biology and psychology, humans seem to be

designed for heterosexuality due to the fact that it is the

only way for organisms to reproduce.

There has always been a common consensus, also known as

evolutionary psychology and Evolutionary biology, that nature

exerts its influence on organisms for two main reasons:

Survival and reproduction.

Evolutionary Psychology and biology rest on the shoulders of

Evolutionary theory, but more specifically, the process of

natural selection. By these means, many scientists have argued

that nature’s main intention for all organisms is survival and

reproduction.

Evolutionary psychology and biology is used to explain mating

selection, mating rituals, and also include certain physical

characteristics such as the distinctions between the male and

female body. Some examples include female hip to waist ratio,

physical symmetry, pheromones, and so on. In light of this,

one could say that males are specifically designed to mate

with females.

Consequently, the argument that if homosexuality is a choice

then heterosexuality must be a choice as well might be false.

Human bodies are equipped for heterosexual reproduction.

Homosexual reproduction is impossible. If homosexuality or

bisexuality, for that matter, was nature’s intention as a way

to fulfill its will (reproduction), women would be able to get

other women pregnant and the same goes for men. Asexual

reproduction a prime example of the lengths nature will go to

allow reproduction. Therefore, if nature allows asexual

reproduction, it should be able to allow homosexual

reproduction as well.

Since heterosexuality is the only natural means for humans to

reproduce, it cannot be a choice because it fulfills natures

function.

Hermaphrodites probably represent a more “truer” form

homosexuality because nature has equipped these organisms with

a means to reproduce through heterosexual and homosexual

means, although at such a point, the distinction between male

and female truly no longer exist. Nevertheless, these

organisms are equipped to impregnate others as well as to be

impregnated themselves, which seems to equate to hybrid of

homosexual and heterosexual reproduction.

Finally, some may argue that if nature’s intention is

reproduction, then why humans don’t reproduce every time they

have heterosexual sex. Nevertheless the equipment is there. If

organisms do not reproduce, it’s because they choose not to do

so because in some cases, the reason might have to do with

survival.

This is why I think it COULD be argued that heterosexuality is

not just a choice because humans are inherently built for it.

According to Evolutionary psychology, one of nature’s prime

directives for organisms is reproduction. And in humans, it

seems as though the only means of accomplishing this order is

through heterosexuality.

P.S.

You gave an example about how Roman men were having sex with

one another as well as reproducing to argue that reproduction

can still occur in a homosexual environment.

However, if homosexuality can be defined as attraction to the

same sex, this probably entails arousal as well, and arousal

entails intercourse even if none takes place. Therefore, it

makes it very difficult to separate the act of sex from the

homosexuality especially if an organism can ONLY be aroused by

a member of the same sex. This represents a block to

reproduction. In Ancient Rome, this was not the case because

attraction was not exclusive because, although many men may

have been involved in homosexual acts, they were still able to

be aroused by women and therefore reproduce.

Um, they don't choose that lifestyle either. Again, it makes no sense for someone to choose something like that.
