The one and only aborted stories thread

Recommended Posts

Guest converge241

so we always touch base on the "great mysteries of the aborted stories" in other threads like "who raised the briefcase @ kor 98"  or "what was in the baby doll envelope".

so lets get em all here and someone will throw one out and the next person can give 1) what they think should have happened and 2) what they think "was" going to happen

to start out an easy one:

GTV

I believe Vince Russo said that the ‘G’ stood for ‘Goldust’, which would have made sense (at least in a WWF-kinda way.) As for what I’d like to have happened well…. Somebody over at WrestleCrap once said the ‘G’ was for ‘Gooker’, which would have been interesting. I guess its just one of those angles that is perhaps remembered more fondly because it wasn’t resolved if you know what I mean. After all, the revelation that Eric Bischoff and Kidman were the ‘Hummer’ culprits really killed that angle’s notoriety. Hey there’s one: who SHOULD have been driving the Hummer?

The Goldust idea was the most brandied about and it would have fit his charcter (sorta). toldja it was easy!

Damn, the Hummer is a toughie. its hard to keep track of who was who in the zoo during the new blood - millionaires club feud/re-boot.

I think Scott Steiner would have been a good choice. It wouldnt have been much of a "surprise" but it could have added to the dangerous nature of Steiner's character.

Another WCW one, from The Magnificent Seven era:

Who the hell was attacking the Mag7?

The new blood. Didnt sid drive the hummer? Or did savage say it was him?

Russo said that GTV originally stood for Green TV as in Tom Green but Vince didnt know who he was at the time so it didnt work out. Too bad.

It should have been Sting who was attacking the Magnificent 7. Considering he faced off with Ric Flair on the final Nitro, they could have easily written this in and it would have fitted the Sting character. Perhaps though it was better for that match to be non-storyline based, so maybe that’s why this didn’t happen.

Maybe after Goldust left the fed, but it was obvious that when the angle was started it was Goldust behind it. Not only the fact that it was originally called "GDTV", but on Raw where the camera caught PMS in the dressing room talking about men's dick sizes, Terri came out and said something like "Do you know who's got a small one? DUSTIN!" Then went on to say stuff about their wedding night and the camera IMMEDIATELY snowed out. That had to be Goldust.

I thought the first one was when it caught Brian Pillman trying on the gold dress that he had to wear via prior stipulation. I could be wrong though. Ididnt watch a lot of raw back then, nitro was my show.

The first one, entitled GDTV, was Mark Henry taking a shit. The second one, now GTV, was Droz finding out that dresses are comfortable.

one thats been discussed but lets put it here:

McMahons vs Austin ladder match.. who raised the briefcase?

The logical choice is of course Bossman, but other theories?

Antoher question about the Bossman, why did he use his old, "Hard times" theme just once?  I miss that song.

i assume you mean when he was kicked out of the corporation right?  i think it was because he returned as a face and during his one face entrance he used the "hard times" theme.

My personal favorite GTV was where Val Venis and the Big Show were at neighboring urinals. Venis casually looks over at the Big Show's member, chuckles, and says "And they call you the Big Show?". Venis then gets the crap beat out of him as soon as Show finishes up. Good stuff.

that was my favorite GTV segment.  val delivers that line perfectly.

it's funny that on a later raw william regal was caught looking at the big show and he seemed impressed.

Regal's situation on was on Smackdown, and it happened 2 1/2 years later.

The best thing about the Venis one was, when the Undertaker ordered the Shit to destroy Val Venis, just before the camera cut to Val, the Taker could not help but laugh at the segment.

How about:

August 99, Steve Austin mysteriously found at the bottom of a stairwell with a broken cinder block nearby.  I don't believe anyone ever took any credit for the assault.

So who was it?  HHH would have bragged about it.  I think it was maybe supposed to be Vince, who was "Off WWF TV forever! (read: 2 months) after the "End of an Era" match at Fully Loaded 99.  But then he came back as a face soon after the cinder block attack, so either it wasn't Vince or they weren't booking a month ahead at the time.

Also, as far as what was intended for GTV after Goldust left, I have no idea.  But one time a couple of months after there had been no more GTVs, I thought they slyly explained it away without telling anyone.

In late-99, in the HHH/Steph drive-up marriage video, HHH refers to his cameraman (Who we do actually see) as "G".  Maybe he was just calling him G as in "What up, G?", but I don't see HHH doing that.  SO for awhile I thought that GTV was explained: it was just some random guy.

But then in 2000, GTV turned up at LEAST once more (Eddie getting caught in the showers with Mandy & Victoria I believe was the last one), so obviously they meant for the angle to continue or something.  Who knows?

i think it was supposed to be HHH (my guess)

there was some match between Foley and either Rock or Show and somebody cost him it in the backstage area from up above in the rafters or something like that (i think someone knocked Foley off it to the concrete), and they never said who it was.. anybody remember something like that?

It was on smackdown, when HHH was fighting for his way in the 6 pack challenge match.  Him and Foley was fighting in the boiler room, and Foley went for an elbow when this pipe hit him and knocked him off.  It was never revealed who did it. (Speculation it was the Bulldog)

I got a couple of forgotten storylines:

Ric Flair's Heart Attack

Ric Flair's Mental Institution

Willie Green of the Mean Street Posse

Ric Flair's Mental Institution

i loved scott hall during this crap.  seeing him driving the bus full of nuts was one of the funniest moments in wrestling I have ever seen.
