Guest Report post Posted June 8, 2002 I remember them being in WWF for about a year and never amounting to anything. I wish they could come back. Why didn't WWF push them then while they had the chance? They could've had a team name like "The Can-Am Connection" and had some flashier music (I remember it just being like one measure of "dun-dun-DAH-duh" over and over) and maybe had a run for the belts. Maybe it was just a style conflict in WWF. What do you think?
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted June 8, 2002 I'd like to think so. Besides, WE NEED TAG TEAMS!
Guest Report post Posted June 8, 2002 From what I've seen of that duo--which, admittedly, is very little--I don't think they would get over today. Yeah, they're extremely talented, but then so is Lance Storm, and we all know how over he is.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted June 8, 2002 they could easily get over, but they would need a manager/voice on the caliber of Flair or Paul E to get notice. Furnas & LaFon vs Guerrero & Beniot would be a good start. After destroying Bulldog & Owen in a Survivor Series match they basically went nowhere.
Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted June 9, 2002 Um, they weren't over then, so they wouldn't be over now. BTW I just watched Capitol Combat 90 and Tony interviews the debuting "World's Strongest Man" Doug Furnas. Oiy. How many failed worlds strongest man gimmicks is it gonna take!? Guest Mark4steamboat Report post Posted June 9, 2002 i was thinking the exact thing slapnuts. Good wrestlers but they lacked charisma.
Guest Report post Posted June 9, 2002 Good wrestlers but they lacked charisma And that, my friends, is the PROPER use of "charisma." Furnas and LaFon had trouble sparking the crowds with their ringwork, something that Benoit does not experience.
Guest Mark4steamboat Report post Posted June 9, 2002 i feel so...complimented. They could have gotten over but thtere in the end, Vince had the angle where they knew they sucked and the fans didnt like them so naturally, the fans didnt care. if it was the 80s, they could have been an over face team. Guest Report post Posted June 9, 2002 razazteca, it's DEL mundo, and think about the Quebecers. Dude, they got over totally on charisma...I think Furnas and LaFon can do ok w/NO charisma. It's all about the WRASSLIN...
Guest razazteca Report post Posted June 10, 2002 ouch another typo by me was one of them from Okahoma?
Guest Report post Posted June 10, 2002 Furnas was an Okie where LaFon was a Quebecer.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted June 10, 2002 i think they could get over. much like rvd did upon entering the wwe, furnas and lafon have the mad skills to get them over without boring everyone with 10 minute interviews. let them wrestle is my answer I guess.
