My favourites from the albums: Adrenaline- Bored, Root and Fist. Around The Fur- Be Quiet And Drive, Dai The Flu and Mx. The White Pony- Change, Knife Party and Digital Bath.

Guest redbaron51 Posted June 9, 2002 Report Posted June 9, 2002 meh...they are okay... but Chino is a hit and miss at live concerts. I mean sometimes he is good, and sometime you want to cover your ears because he sucks so bad. Overall there is nothing too special about this band

Speaking of the Deftones, it reminds me of this one time when my friend and I were making fun of the band kids and one of them put on a Deftones CD. I said to my friend, "Want to see me become the most hated man in this room?" and I yelled, "The Deftones fucking suck!" Like twelve kids started bitching at me, and one told me he was going to kick my ass, but when he came over and I didn't back down, he told me I was lucky he hurt his back.... Moral of the story: band dorks like Deftones
Guest The Man in Blak Posted June 10, 2002 Report Posted June 10, 2002 I don't know - I always thought Chino's lack of being able to sing on key was a really integral part of their muchos-dissonant sound. At any rate, my opinion is mixed. To me, the Deftones are a "singles" band, a band that can't get their act together for an entire album. Yeah, you can pick two or three songs off of White Pony or Adrenaline, but the rest of their stuff doesn't even have the same panache. No other band that I know of has such a large difference between their filler and their good content. But when the band is on, they've got a sound that is really beyond a lot of the other shit that poses as rock nowadays. So, in a sense, I've got to agree with Justsoyoudon'tknow on this one - other than their big hits ("My Own Summer" and "Change"), the Deftones really don't bring a lot to the table other than their juggling of dissonances with really bizarre vocals, which is probably something that only other musicians appreciate. (Note how many times the Deftones pop up when other current bands, such as KoRn, mention influences.)
Guest converge241 Posted June 10, 2002 Report Posted June 10, 2002 One of my favorites. the order i like the albums around the fur (my album of the year from the year it came out) white pony adrenaline (only a couple good songs, but hey it was their first) one of the best live bands ive ever seen as well
Guest whatitistoburn Posted June 12, 2002 Report Posted June 12, 2002 One of my favorite bands. I'd have to say white pony is the best album ever except for the fact I hate "elite". And where as I can see where some don't like their stage show, the times ive seen them they kicked some major ass.
Guest caboose Posted June 12, 2002 Report Posted June 12, 2002 I saw them live at Reading 2000 here in England, and they sucked. Really Chino was just off. I didn't get it. I will also agree with the point that their tracks either ROCK~! or are somewhat mundane. I still love them though.
