Guest scratch Report post Posted June 8, 2002 Alright, since KOTR is shaping up to be pretty terrible, I have decided to book it a tad better. Keep in mind, we're in current storyline mode, so nothing out of the ordinary will appear here unless the story calls for it. We'll start with the bracket movements, then move on to the actual PPV. Raw XPac d Goldust Buh Buh Ray Dudley d Raven Booker T d William Regal Jeff Hardy d Big Show via DQ Raw Semis XPac d. Buh Buh Ray Dudley Booker T d. Jeff Hardy Smackdown Chris Jericho d Edge via forfeit Hardcore Holly d Test Val Venis d Christian Lance Storm d Faarooq Smackdown Semis Chris Jericho d. Hardcore Holly Lance Storm d. Val Venis Alright so for the actual tourney semis, we now have for the Raw side - XPac vs Booker T (nWo vs nWo), and Chris Jericho vs Lance Storm (:drools:). Now onto the PPV. Sunday Night Heat WWF Tag Team Champions Billy and Chuck defeat Rikishi and Tazz at 4:26 after Rico knocks out Rikishi with the Tag Belt. D'Lo Brown defeats WWF European Champion William Regal to win the title at 5:45 after a Lo Down. Bradshaw pins Steven Richards to retain the Hardcore Title at 1:15 after a clothesline from hell. Crash Holly comes out and gets squashed by a Bradshaw boot. Justin Credible comes out and gets killed by a trashcan. Raven comes out and DDT's Bradshaw onto a garbage can lid an gets the three for the title. Stevie-kick to Raven puts him out and Stevie gets the Hardcore Title. Bradshaw gets back to his feet and clothesline Stevie out of his boots and pins him for the title once again. As Bradshaw walks to the back from the Titan-Tron, Jeff Hardy is waiting with a guitar and blasts Bradshaw in the head with the guitar and gets the three count for the Hardcore Title. He screams "Live for the Moment!", gets in his rental car and leaves the arena. Bradshaw looks pissed. Heat ends. WWF King of the Ring 2002- Columbus Ohio, June 23, 2002 Opening Montage- Shows past kings of the ring, and then has a short video for each of the 4 participants tonight. Video then segues into the Angle/Hogan affair, then Eddy/Austin, then finally HHH/Taker. Match One- WWF Cruiserweight Title Jamie Knoble w/ Nidia vs The Hurricane- WWF Cruiserweight Champion *note I do finishes, no PBP* Hurricane hits the Vertebreaker on Knoble, but Nidia interferes on the ring apron. Helms goes over to get her off, but Knoble hooks on a crucifix and then grabs the tights for the win and the title at 9:06. Winner and NEW WWF Cruiserweight Champion- Jamie Knoble *Interview with Booker T and XPac- They argue over who is going to win their match, when Goldust pops in and says he is going to be watching very carefully, while snarling at XPac the whole time. Match Two- KOTR Semifinal - Raw XPac vs Booker T Goldust comes out mid-match and watches intently. XPac nails the X-Factor, but then sees Goldust in the aisleway. He turns his attention away enough for Booker to regain his senses and XPac walks right into the spin kick for the pin at 4:55. Sadly, no Spinaroonie. Winner- Booker T *Jericho is in the back with Michael Cole as he readies himself for Lance Storm. Jericho is cocky and says Storm doesn't stand a chance against the former undisputed champ. Match Three - KOTR Semifinal - Smackdown Lance Storm vs Chris Jericho They wrestle a fast, quick match, with quick pins and lots of chain wrestling. Storm gets lowblowed while arguing with the ref, and Jericho hooks his foot on the top rope while on top of Storm for the pin at 8:18. Our final will be contested later on as Booker T faces Jericho in the finals. Winner- Chris Jericho *In the back, the nWo, minus Booker, beats down Goldust and dump him in the trunk of their limo and the driver drives off. *Paul Heyman readies Brock Lesnar for his IC Title shot, which is next. Brock looks intense and focused and wants to kill RVD. Match Four- WWF Intercontinental Title Match Brock Lesnar w/ Paul Heyman vs Rob Van Dam- WWF Intercontinental Champion Lesnar kicks out of the Five-Star frog splash, and RVD tries Rolling Thunder, but catches nothing but knees. Lesnar applies a chokehold, sort of like the Tazzmission, and RVD passes out at 9:46. Lesnar doesn't let go and officials can't get him off. This goes on for a good 2 minutes. Finally, Lesnar lets go, but the refs reversed the decision and award the bout to RVD by DQ. Lesnar goes nuts and kills all the refs. RVD is finally carried out by paramedics and taken to the hospital. Winner by DQ- RVD, still Intercontinental Champion *Angle/Hogan package is shown *Angle cuts a promo on Hogan, running through all Hogan's catchphrases and making fun of them. Says he will finish what Taker started last month at Judgment Day. *Hogan is shown walking with a serious look on his face and a steel pipe in hand. Match Five Kurt Angle vs Hollywood Hulk Hogan Hogan goes for the pipe after the ref is bumped and nails Angle with it. Legdrop, cover, no ref. Hogan tries to revive the ref, and Vince comes charging in and nails Hogan in the head with the pipe. Angle then hits the Angle Slam with the ref revived and gets the pin at 12:07. Angle and Vince leave triumphant, while Hogan just slowly walks to the back on his own, in tears, while thanking the fans. Winner- Kurt Angle *Recap of the Semi-finals *Nash tells Booker he's on his own now. No Goldust to run interference, and the nWo believes that Booker can do it on his own. Booker and Nash hug, as Booker readies for the final. Match Six- KOTR Final - Raw vs Smackdown Chris Jericho vs Booker T As promised, no nWo interference in the match. Booker signals and hits the Spinaroonie, and prepares for Jericho to get up. He goes for the axe kick, but Jericho moves, and rolls up Booker for the surprise clean pin at 10:26. Jericho is the King of the Ring!! Winner and 2002 King of the Ring- Chris Jericho *Nash, XPac, and Big Show all come out, and then DESTROY Booker for losing the match. Show gets a chokeslam, Nash delivers a jacknife powerbomb and then XPac gives a Bronco Buster to Booker to seal the deal. Then HBK comes out and tells them to stop. It's not an nWo beatdown, until the Heartbreak Kid gets a few licks in. He pounds on Booker and they hold him up for some SWEET. CHIN. MUSIC. The nWo leaves in full force as Booker is OUT. *Austin/Guerrero package is shown Match 7 Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Eddy Guererro Austin pins Eddy clean with a Stunner at 6:09. Flair then comes out and says it's two out of three falls. Guerrero pins Austin with a frog splash at 11:23. Austin hits a Stunner on Eddy, but Flair then says it's submission only in the third fall. Austin goes for a Texas Cloverleaf, but Eddy pokes him in the eye. Austin doesn't submit to the Gory special and proceeds to stomp a mudhole in Guerrero. Flair trips up Austin and Austin knocks him senseless. Guerrero charges, misses and Austin locks on the Million Dollar Dream and Eddy goes to sleep for the submission at 18:48. AA comes in and gets creamed for good measure. Benoit comes out and just stares down Austin from the aisle and says wait till Vengenace and walks off. Winner - Stone Cold Steve Austin *Video Package of UT/HHH history as if anyone cares *HHH is walking *UT is walking while punching Match Eight for the WWF Undisputed Championship HHH vs The Undertaker - WWF Undisputed Champion Blah blah blah. Taker kicks out of the Pedigree, hits three chokeslams, but can't put away the Game. Matt Hardy comes out and tries to go after Taker again, but Taker tombstones him. HHH grabs a sledgehammer and nails Taker in the ribs, and then in the head. Kurt Angle runs out to try and stop HHH but he gets a shot in the ribs. All the sudden, HBK comes out of nowhere, BAM! Superkick to HHH, Taker covers and he remains your Undisputed Champion. Match length- 16:34. Taker helps Angle to the back, and HHH lays in the ring unconscious from the superkick. End of show. That's how I thought KOTR should go. It prolly won't even follow this, but still it was fun doing it. Thanks for reading Scratch
Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted June 10, 2002 I dont see the point of HBK attacking HHH since theya re both on different shows. Plus hogan won't job two PPVs in a row. (see WMX-8 & Backlash) Plus nWo is likely to turf show & Pac and turn face. Just my 2 centz
