Old Coliseum Video Memories

Recommended Posts

There is also another world tour relesed with DBS on the cover. It is not bad. I t has a decent Flair-Tornado match. Also I would give World Tour 92 the tiele as one of the worst CV ever. The whole video would probably get -****. Not 5 b/c there is at least some Heenen commentary during the video. Just watch out for that Warlord-Tornado match, Man it's painful to sit through. There are also other World Tours liek World Tour 96 which was released by CV and UK Ramapage 93, if you want to count that.

Talk about a tape with nothing on it but one awesome match look at WWF WrestleFest 1991,every match on that tape was pretty bad except there is an L.O.D. and Hart Foundation match which is awesome!!!

Thanks.

I remember when the CV exculsive would show the house show title changes Hart vs Flair, or gimmick matches that never made it to the PPV like Hart vs Michaels Ladder match.

Oh the memories of Mean Gene going on assignment to Hart Foundation HQ, watching Yokozuna eating at Benny Hanna's, the Bushwackers remodeling houses with Lord Alfred Hayes.

Speaking of CV, They do recycle many matches. On tapes such as Off the Top Rope, Mega Matches 95, Canadian Fan Favorites, and Wham Bam Bodyslam, many matches are the same. On 3 of the tapes, they show the same Tatanka/Luger match and it is pretty bad. Mega Matches 95 and THe Fan Favorites tapes are very good though. Also, How is the Battle of the Superstars Series? I heard the 1st one is pretty bad.

I haven't seen the first Battle of the Superstars, but I did see BOTS '92 and it sucked. The only good thing about that tape was the Flair/Sid vs. Hogan/Piper mach. Seeing Flair/Piper face-to-face doing nothing yet the crowd is going nuts is priceless.

I have seen the first WWF Battle of the Superstars and it is nothing special at all.I don't remember anything good from that tape except for maybe Shawn Mooney cutting his hand on what looked like a plastic knife.

Thanks.

I probably haven't seen as many Coliseum Video as you guys have, but I rented MONDAY NIGHT RAW'S PRIME CUTS recently and the video rocked from start to finish.  Awesome matches (Quebecers vs. Steiners, Shawn vs. Marty, The IC Title Battle Royale and the Razor/Martel match that followed), awesome segments (the Savage/Crush Peace Summit and nutty antics from Bobby Heenan and Doink), this tape is a treat to watch.  While I was pissed that Flair vs. Perfect didn't make the cut (perhaps it's on another CV...info is appreciated), I highly recommend it.

I also recently rented a BEST OF tape and it had Savage/Steamboat on it.  Although it ended on a countout, it was almost as good as their WM 3 match and I also recommend picking that up.

You probably have a special copy. In the U.S. Raw Prime Cuts doesn't have Flair/Perfect, Wrestlefest '93 does.

I was super fortunate enough to pick up 5 Coliseum Videos from Blockbuster (They're doing they're $2 off Pre-viewed sale in my area).  Anywhoo, one was The Most Unususal Matches (1985).  The box is engulfed with a pic of a 20-Man Battle Royal.  Sweeeet!!!  I'm a HUGE Battle Royal Mark!  So when the tape came to it, EVERY entrance was shown along w/ the first minute of the match and THEN . . . . . . CLIP EPIDEMIC hit and we were down to about 10 guys left!  Dammmmmit!  If that wasn't bad enough, there were guys getting hurled off camera.  Dout!  And then the match came down to Rene Goulet, Ron Shaw (The Friggin' Gambler), and Antonio Inoki.  They're all wearing the same style black tights, and Inoki takes the win.  Cripes, that was bad.

BUT, the very next match MORE then made up for it (Muraco vs. Snuka in the Cage, BABY!)

Yup, those are my 2 cents.
