Guest Phr33k Posted June 9, 2002 Report Posted June 9, 2002 The match was just a normal match with the count-out option set to 10 secs. I had Kenta Kobashi (CPU) go up against the Great Sasuke (CPU) in a 30-min timelimit bout. Sasuke lost via countout in 29:17 after kicking out of numerous Lariats, two Screwdrivers, three Powerbombs, two Piledrivers and a Burning Hammer. Kobashi just whipped him from pillar to post for pretty much the entire time, except for when Sasuke would reverse something into a victory roll or Hurricanrana. My question is, have any of you experienced the same things playing any Fire Pro games? Tell us about it.
Guest Mark4steamboat Posted June 9, 2002 Report Posted June 9, 2002 I had a match in toys r us with kobashi against sasuke that didnt end after 15 minutes so i gave up. Some matches seem to drag on that game. Is it out for PS2?
Guest Black Lushus Posted June 10, 2002 Report Posted June 10, 2002 I see i'm not the only one that likes to set the CPU against the CPU!
Guest areacode212 Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 Yeah, a lot of people like to have CPU vs. CPU matches, especially in Fire Pro D's championship mode. I'll take CPU v CPU Fire Pro over RAW these days.
Guest Lucha Hogan Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 I own a GBA with the Fire Pro Wrestling game.Once i was fighting againt Stone Cold with Kawada and the match was pretty even, but at the 9 minute mark i gave Stone Cold a Jumping high kick and bam CRITICAL flashed on the screen. That was SWEEEEEET!
Guest TheHulkster Posted June 11, 2002 Report Posted June 11, 2002 I once had a one hour draw between Hansen & Williams (me) Vs Baba & Tsuruta (Kings Road is HARD, especially level 4 against the secret characters). My favorite match was in Audience mode, Strong Style, level 4. It was Koji Kanemoto (me) Vs Tiger Mask. We ripped ot up for 30 minutes and I managed to get a 100% audience approval rating, topping off the match with a brutal tiger suplex.
Guest Vyce Posted June 12, 2002 Report Posted June 12, 2002 I love FPW A for the Gameboy Advance. So much I bought a second one, just cause I had filled up the CAWs for the first. The CPU is pretty good on it too. You can get some strong matches (although in tournament mode, sometimes it pays to set the match to lumberjack rules, otherwise you may have the CPU wrestle forever. I had a Benoit / Jericho vs. Gedo / Jado tag match go 50 some odd minutes cause they wouldn't get their asses back in the ring). How strong is the CPU? Why, the other day I had a Scott Norton vs. Manabu Nakanishi match that was far better than it had any right to be. Hell, it was better than the match would be in real life!
Guest areacode212 Posted June 12, 2002 Report Posted June 12, 2002 I only play FPA with my GBA emulator. Last night, I had a decent Rock vs. HBK match (because I felt like kicking HBK's ass after his little comment on Monday night). The best part was finishing him off with the Sharpshooter--it was double vengeance!
Guest Speed 6 Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 Can anyone tell me how much GBA and Fire Pro cost in Canada. I'm asking because I need a game to replace WMX8, cause it's goin' back to the store. God, that game sucks. Damn THQ.
Guest Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 I recently purchased this game, and watching CPU v. CPU isn't terribly impressive. I've seen more Diamond Cutters and figure fours than I thought I would ever see in match that only lasted nine minutes (real time).
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 I also tried CPU vs. CPU on my GBA emu and for 10 minutes all Shawn Michaels and my CAW did was walk around posing and staring at eachother. I'm not impressed.
Guest Renegade Posted June 15, 2002 Report Posted June 15, 2002 i did quite a good match once with 2 caw, after one stunner the CPU picked me up and hit a hit a powerbomb pin, kickout, after a whip reversal i hit the evelated boston crab, too colse to ropes, after many counters i ended it with a tombstone piledriver from the top rope.
Guest hardyz1 Posted June 17, 2002 Report Posted June 17, 2002 I did a CPU vs CPU match between Misawa and Kobashi in Normal mode. It never ended. That's right, they just kept on fighting and throwing everything at each other, hitting many many finishers and special moves, but neither guy would stay down for the 3. This is the match where I found out that the timer stops at 99:99. I just turned the damn thing off a few minutes after 99:99 hit. A long match with lots of near falls is one thing, but this was a little overboard.
Guest RetroRob215 Posted June 18, 2002 Report Posted June 18, 2002 Isn't Fire Pro coming out for PS2?
