CZW held their annual Best of the Best tournament yesterday and here are the results.

1st round:

Match 1:

Trent Acid vs. MDogg 20 vs. Gabriel (Jason Cross no showed).

winners:  Trent Acid pinned Gabriel which meant Acid and MDogg would move to the second round.

Match 2:

Nick Berk vs. Super Dragon vs. B-Boy.

winners:  Dragon pinned Berk so Super Dragon and B-Boy moved onto round 2.

Match 3:

Ruckus vs. Tony Mamaluke vs. Max Fury (Elix Skipper had plane trouble and couldn't make it).

winners:  Tony Mamaluke pinned Max with a shooting star legdrop therefore Mamaluke and Ruckus move to the next round.

Match 4:

Johnny Kashmere vs. Jonny Storm vs. Jodie Fleisch.

winners:  Storm pinned Kashmere so its Storm vs. Fleisch in the second round.

Match 5:

Justice Pain won a Battle Royal for a shot at the Heavyweight and Ironman Titles.  This match would unify the Heavyweight and Ironman Titles.  He was not scheduled to be in the match but won it anyway (hmmmm?).

2nd Round:

Match 6:

Trent Acid vs. MDogg 20.

winner:  Trent Acid beat MDogg 20 after Josh Prohibition interfered.  Acid goes on to round 3.

Match 7:

B-Boy vs. Super Dragon.

winner:  B-Boy beat Super Dragon and goes on to round 3 to face Trent Acid.

Match 10:

Lobo vs. Wifebeater.

I figured Trent would go over.

Geez, he won last year's, why again?  They should be trying to elevate a new star with this tournament, not just re-push an old one.

He was in the finals last year and lost to Winger...he did 5 matches that night.

They have to find a new system other then the 3 way dances where one guy gets eliminated...the show ran FIVE HOURS!!!

And I'm glad Trent won...I didn't like that Winger won last years, don't get me wrong, I like Winger...but I just think it means a little more to have a regular in the promotion win it.

I'm really mixed on M-Dogg...he's got hands down the greatest balance I've ever seen on a wrestler (ever!), and that can lead to some good high spots...but he is sooooo green...his selling is just brutal and he can't throw a decient kick or punch to save his life.

Winger won last year.

Oh, crap.  Boy do I feel dumb.

BUT ::backpedalling wildly to save face:: Acid SHOULD have won last year, considering how their relationship with BJPW disintegrated not long thereafter, and then they should've put over a new guy this year.

I'm sick of Justice Pain as their champ personally.  Ruckus should have won the best of the best tourney, from what I've seen of CZW, IMO. I went to Cage of Death 3 and their shows are WAY too long.

Typical CZW. I've been attending events of theirs since 1999 and they have yet to really push for anybody to break through the main event stature. They will probably never push Acid as a main eventer. They will keep him in their tag team and juniors division until he gets fed up and leaves. Pain has been their champ for as long as I can remember, despite lacking the talent and charisma to be a champ. I guess you could call him the Test of CZW, except that Pain's push is never-ending and that it actually accomplished something (winning the belt).

Ruckus is not a jr heavyweight

I like Justice Pain...but truth about CZW is that they don't much much other then tag wrestlers, hardcore guys, and jr heavyweights...They should have kept it on Messiah, he can bust his ass in the ring.

Didn't they put the title on Pain so he can job it to Zandig over in Ireland or something?

I'm glad MDogg 20 and Josh Prohibition are getting into the indy's now. They were backyarders before (featured heavily on "Best Of BYW vol. 2"), and it's good to see them in an indy continuing their feud.

And I agree that MDogg is green as fuck, but he does have INCREDIBLE balance.

Yes, that is what I heard.  It was so Zandig could come back into the company.  Stupid idea if you ask me.  Zandig is not my idea of a good champ, he is a 99.9% garbage wrestler.  I really like CZW and all, but they have been doing some retarded booking as of late.

The belt should have been kept on Messiah.  He should be ruling that company.

Unfortunately, Zandig owns the company, so CZW fans will have to put up with him for a long time. I think Lobo is the worst guy they have, though I'm not sure if he's still active. Zandig and Wifebeater aren't great wrestlers, but at least they can throw a few moves out there. Lobo isn't even a wrestler. He has no ability what so ever. All he can do is get beaten up and bleed. You'd be amazed how young the guy is, considering he looks like an old man out there.

Hi, I live in england and I am a big fan of jody fleisch and jonny storm.  I was wondering if anyone was at the event and could tell me how well those two performed.  I think they are two tremendously exciting light heavyweights and could make an impression in america if given a chance.  They are bound to impress everyone in the next ring of honour show, along with doug williams (who dave meltzer described as the most underrated wrestler in the world, BTW).  On a personal level my only hope is that they dont impress too much when they spend a week in HWA as if they got signed by Vince it would be a huge setback for the british scene.

People are saying Storm and Fleisch had the match of the night.  So I imagine they did really well.  I just started watching the tape today so after I watch it I'll post something about what I saw,  if someone doesn't beat me to it.

Dammit, Fleisch and Storm are booked against each other for USA Wrestling here in Nashville this Saturday night, and I'm managing for a little local fed that night.  I wish I could go back to just being an ordinary fan sometimes.
