-The things I do for you guys. You need to bow down to me by the time I’m done with this atrocity.

 

-Live from Greensboro, North Carolina! I think the only reason I ordered this PPV was to see Billy Gunn win, because for some extremely strange reason, I was once a Ass Man fan. Point and laugh if you’d like. Your hosts are JR and the King.

 

-Obligatory video package. Showing Stone Cold becoming the CEO of the WWF. Including clips of…Jesse Jackson? JFK, and of course Stone Cold beating up Vince & Shane. RICHARD NIXON? “I am not a crook.” Ooh, it’s WINNER TAKE ALL! Where have I heard that before? That was pretty stupid.

 

-PYROOOOOOOO!

-Earlier tonight on Heat: Steve Blackman attacked Shamrock during his match with Shane McMahon, and Shamrock refused medical attention. Announcers talk about this.

 

-OOOH, now it’s live footage. OMG INTERNAL INJURIES~! Michael Cole stands in front of Mr. McMahon’s exciting door. He says Shane may not be able to compete.

 

-Opening Match, KOTR Quarterfinal: Hardcore Holly vs. X-Pac- Lockup, Holly gets a headlock. X-Pac with a whip, Holly with a shoulder block. Holly taunts the fans to no reaction. Lockup, Holly beats him up, another side headlock. X-Pac whip, Holly shoulderblock, X-Pac leapfrog, and an armdrag by X-Pac. Bronco Buster misses, and Holly gets a clothesline. Front face lock, but X-Pac powers out, and X-Pac reverses a cross corner whip into a bodypress for two. Holly with a powerbomb. Hardcore chokes X-Pac on the ropes, but X-Pac fights back, X-Pac ducks a clothesline and gets a belly-to-back suplex. Holly reverses a whip, X-Pac ducks a clothesline, spinning heel kick. Kicks in the corner, oh no, NOT THE BRONCO BUSTER! I would hate testicles being rubbed in my face. Holly says “screw it” and grabs a chair, Chairshot, X-Pac wins by DQ in 3:00 and advances to the Semifinals. Stupid ending, and too short. ¼* Road Dogg runs off Holly from doing further damage.

 

-TERRY TAYLOR asks Hardcore Holly why he got himself disqualified. Hardcore says he’s a big shot, and he plays by his rules. He says he hasn’t forgotten about Big Show. Speaking of which…

 

-KOTR Quarterfinal: Big Show vs. Kane- Show was really over back then. Let us take you back to RAW, when Big Show “pushed a car over Hardcore Holly,” which barely missed him. HAHA. Slugfest, Cross corner whip, no, Big Show stops it and stomps Kane in the corner. OPEN HAND CHOPS, and he tosses Kane like a toy. Back elbows in the corner, knees to the gut, cross corner whip, but Big Show misses a Stinger Splash. Kane beats on Show in the corner, he chokes him, but gets tossed again. Charge, but Show gets a boot up, and a clothesline. Well it’s a big elbow drop. Whip by Show, Kaneziguri, but Show doesn’t go down. Show reverses a whip, and a blown double big boot spot. Kane falls outside. Kane with a stun gun, and he goes up top. Flying clothesline takes down Show for two. Mounted punches on Show, and Kane chokes him. Big Show with a jawbreaker, but Show hits a big boot on the ref, and Kane low blows him. CUE THE HARDCORE HOLLY RUN IN. He tries to hit Big Show, but Kane chokeslams him. Show introduces Kane to the turnbuckles, whip by Show, clothesline ducked, CHOKE by Kane…………OK, it’s been 30 seconds now…the crowd is absolutely dead…OK, it’s been ONE MINUTE IN A CHOKE HOLD. And not a chinlock, I mean a GOOZLE! WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? It’s been a minute and a half! Crowd starts booing. After 1:55, Show comes back miraculously, but Kane with a big chairshot. Cover, 1, 2, 3. Kane advances at 6:33. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE! -** Wasn’t this one of the candidates for Worst MOTY?

 

-Michael Cole stands with Vince. Vince will never forgive Ken Shamrock. Shane says he can do it, but Vince says no.

 

-KOTR Quarterfinal: Mr. Ass vs. Ken Shamrock- Oh yeah, Billy has the tag title belt after getting a pin on X-Pac during a six man tag, when he teamed with the tag champs, the Acolytes. X-Pac wanted the belts on the line, so Ass took the belt. Oh no, he has a mic. Ass says Shamrock is scared. “GROW SOME BALLS AND COME OUT HERE MAN to MAN!” Ass sucks. Backstage, Shamrock beats up some EMTs. He’s coming to the ring. Ass dropkicks him in the abdomen, stomps in the corner by Ass. Gunn with choking. Irish whip, Shamrock ducks a clothesline and gets a high kick. Shamrock whip, Billy reverses, Billy catches him on a cross body block and does a backbreaker. Two count. Shamrock rolls through, ANGLELOCK~!, no, Billy gets out. Billy goes outside and works on Shamrock’s ribs. Gunn with a snake eyes on Shamrock on the guardrail. He rams Shamrock’s ribs into the guardrail. Shamrock tries the ankle lock on the outside but Billy escapes again. Billy rolls back in the ring. Teddy Long GIVES SHAMROCK THE BLOOD CAPSULE, and SHAMROCK PUTS IT IN HIS MOUTH ON CAMERA! MUAHAHAHA. Billy with a bodyslam back inside. He goes up top, but misses a splash. Shamrock off the ropes, heel kick, another one, He’s chewing the blood capsule, goes for the hurracanrana, Billy powerbombs him, and Shamrock is all of a sudden bleeding from the mouth. HOW ON EARTH DID THAT HAPPEN?!? Ref stops the match at 3:37. ¾* Another crappy match.

 

-Ad for Stone Cold’s “Hell Yeah” video and The Rock’s “Know your Role” video. Also “Come Get Some” and “Best of RAW vol. 1”

 

-Kevin Kelly interviews Chyna with Triple H. HHH DIDN’T HAVE A MATCH ON A PPV? OMG~! Chyna says she will be queen tonight. HHH challenges the winner of Rock/Taker to a title match.

 

-KOTR Quarterfinal: Road Dogg vs. Chyna (w/Triple H)- OH YOU DIDN’T KNOW?! I miss that entrance. Road Dogg changes his spiel which makes one fan look extremely stupid. I believe this is the debut of the “My Time” theme song. Lockup, clean break in the corner, but Chyna reverses, and pushes Dogg down. We stall…lockup, Chyna with an arm wringer, Road Dogg gets a hammerlock, Chyna reverses, Dogg reverses, Chyna with a back elbow. More stalling, “Doggy Style” chant? Lockup, headlock by Dogg, Chyna reverses into a wristlock, Dogg counters into a hammerlock, Chyna forearm takes Dogg down. WOW, chain wrestling! Too bad there’s too much stalling. Lockup, Chyna with a headlock, Dogg with a whip, Chyna ducks a clothesline, another Chyna forearm. Yawn…Chyna with forearms to the chest in the corner. She whips Dogg into another corner, forearms. Kicks, stomps, choking. Cross corner whip, and Dog collapses. There’s a repeat. Forearms, and shoulder thrusts by Chyna. Road Dogg reverses a cross corner whip, and she does a MANLY FLAIR FLIP~! Tumbling to the outside. Dogg goes out, HHH grabs Dogg, but doesn’t do anything, Chyna shoves Dogg into the ringpost. HHH with cheap shots and a whip into the steps. Snake eyes on the steps. Back in the ring, more forearms in the corner. CHYNESE VIOLENCE. Irish whip, elbow takes Dogg down. 1-2 no. Stomps. Dogg fights back, but Chyna gets a DDT for two. Dogg sits up waiting for the spot, yes Chyna kick to his spine. Bodyslam by Chyna. Elbow drop, again, Shake Rattle n’ Roll kneedrop by Chyna gets two. Heh. Cross corner whip reverses by Dogg, Chyna goes behind Dogg, Dogg calls a spot (“SLEEPER”) and whaddaya know, Chyna locks in a sleeper hold. Dogg fights out, whip, Chyna ducks a clothesline, shot to the head or something, cross corner whip by Chyna, Dogg with a sleeper on Chyna. Ross: “I wonder if Chyna talks in her sleep. I bet she snores.” HHH puts Chyna’s foot on the ropes. Dogg kicks HHH, Chyna with a rollup, 1, 2, NO! HHH hits Dogg with a chain, puts Chyna on top, 1-2 NO! Here’s COMMISH HBK! Dogg ducks a clothesline, funky punches, Bossman straddle, Shake rattle n’ roll kneedrop. Ross: “Does she like it Doggy Style?” HHH tries to interfere, but HBK throws him out! Dogg says goodbye, Chyna goes for the low blow, she hurt her arm…Road Dogg had a CUP! HOW CRAFTY! Chyna’s overselling. Pumphandle Slam, 1, 2, 3! Dogg wins in 13:19. Much too long *1/2.

 

-Michael Cole stands with The Rock. This was just after Rock’s face turn. He talks trash to Undertaker. He talks in ‘tongue.’ IF YA SMELL…

 

-BONUS MATCH~!: The Brood vs. The Hardyz (w/ Michael Hayes)- This was added because this match was originally on Heat, but the Acolytes ran in for the DQ. The Brood was, at the time, Edge, Christian, and Gangrel, but E&C are wrestling. Hardys had the weird techno music. Christian with a whip but Matt gets a shoulderblock, Christian with a dropkick and an armdrag into an armbar, Matt fights out, punches in the corner, tag to Jeff, stomps in the corner. Jeff with a Cross Corner Whip, again, again, Christian with a fireman’s carry stomach breaker. Tag to Edge, double team hiptoss. Edge with a cross corner whip, Jeff with a flying headscissors. Edge puts Jeff into the corner, punches in bunches, Cross corner whip, but Edge reverses another headscissors into an Alabama Slam, goes for an elbow, Jeff gets his feet up, and tags in Matt. Poetry in Motion before it had a name. Matt with a clothesline, elbow, but Christian is tagged in. Cross corner whip, Matt gets a foot up. Matt with a CHINLOCK~! Christian fights out, Christian ducks a clothesline, goes for the Reverse DDT, Matt reverses into a northern lights suplex. OFF COME THE SHIRTS. Christian gets the Reverse DDT. Tag to Jeff, tag to Edge. HOUSE O’ FIRE! Edge with a DDT on Matt, Gangrel distracts the ref, Hayes hits Edge, Jeff with a Northern Lights for two. SPEAR ON MATT. SPEAR ON HAYES. Jeff with a Cross Corner whip on Edge, they go for the poetry in motion, EDGE COUNTERS WITH A SPEAR~! HOLY CRAP. Pin broken up by Matt. Christian with a plancha on Matt. Gangrel accidentally spits the blood in Edge’s eyes, Jeff with the Twist of Fate, 1, 2, 3 Hardys win at 4:49. *1/2 Fun little match, but too short.

 

-Fully Loaded ad featuring Triple H and Chyna.

 

-Michael Cole stands with the WWF Champ, The Undertaker. He was of course the Lord of Darkness. “WHAT  HAPPENS WHEN YOU RIP THE BALLS OFF OF A BULL?” Heh.

 

-Vince comes out for an interview, I guess. Yay, an interview on Pay-per-view. HBK comes out. King: “This guy’s going to make me lose my smile.” Ha. Vince says since Shane is injured, he’ll find a suitable replacement. Waste of time.

 

-KOTR Semifinal: Mr. Ass vs. Kane- WILL WE SEE ANOTHER TWO MINUTE CHOKE?! I hope so. I bet we see a Big Show run in. Billy with punches in the corner, Kane with a choke, throws Billy into the corner, punches by Kane, or should I say throat thrusts. Kane with a short arm clothesline. Headbutt by Kane. Stomps and punches in the corner by Kane. Billy goes outside, and Kane follows. Kane slams Billy’s face into the steps, GUNN FLOP~! Billy dropkicks The ring steps into Kane’s face. Billy with mounted punches. Billy slams Kane’s head into the ring post, and again. I wish these two would get a double count out, they’ve been outside long enough. Then Dogg and X-Pac could, and we would have NO 1999 King of the Ring. It would be better than Gunn. They fight in the crowd more, and finally back in the ring. Stomps in the corner by Billy. Choking in the corner. Yawn. Billy with a semi-snapmare and a Dragon Sleeper? Billy, Kane, and Teddy are having a nice conversation. Kane fights out, Billy goes for the Fameasser, Kane counters with a powerslam. Clothesline by Kane, another, Irish whip, big boot. Dropkick by Kane sends Billy to the outside. Gunn grabs a chair. And whaddaya know, Big Show comes out. He grabs the chair, Billy calls Show a “stupid son of a bitch” Show hits Kane with the chair, Billy gets the pin at 5:25. Another bad match, which is the norm for tonight. ½*

 

-Kevin Kelly stands with X-Pac. He might have to hurt his friend. He calls Road Dogg by his real name, OMG~!

 

-KOTR Semifinal: X-Pac vs. Road Dogg- Kevin Kelly stands with Road Dogg. This could be the hardest match he’s ever had. Lockup, headlock by Dogg, X-Pac whip, Dogg shoulder block, X-Pac with that flippy hiptoss reversal into a belly-to-back suplex. Snapmare by Pac, LIGHTNING LEGDROP~! Gets two. Chinlock by X-Pac 1 minute in. Funky punches by Dogg, but X-Pac ducks, Dogg ducks a spinning heel kick, punch, Shake Rattle n Roll gets two. Dogg with open hand chops, and choking, Bossman straddle, but X-Pac counters with a spinning heel kick for two. Stomps, OH NO NOT THE BRONCO BUSTER, X-Pac moves. Dogg goes for the Pumphandle, X-Pac goes behind, X-Factor, 1, 2,3. X-Pac wins at 3:08. Why are these matches too short? ¾*

And of course, it would’ve made sense to have Road Dogg go over, because, you know, Mr. Ass had just turned on Road Dogg last month. But that’s WWF logic for you. They hug after the match.

 

-A video package for the WWF title match with porno music playing at the beginning. Basically the buildup was Undertaker giving Rock a chokeslam and a tombstone, Rock challenging Taker, Vince making a triple threat match, Rock vs. Undertaker vs. Triple H. Rock pinning Triple H,  to go to KOTR. WOW. How monumental. IS THE CORPORATE MINISTRY DISINTEGRATING?

 

-WWF Championship: The Rock vs. The Undertaker © (w/ Paul Bearer)- The Rock hardly gets the pop he does now. Weird start, as Taker attacks the ref, Cross corner whip, Rock gets an elbow, ROCK BOTTOM! No ref to count the pin, wait, here’s a ref, 1, 2, PAUL BEARER PULLS THE REF OUT, and knocks him out. Rock Irish whip, Taker with a chokeslam. 1, 2, NO! All that happened in the first minute. Taker with a punch that missed by a mile. Rock with a clothesline. Rock lays the Smackdown, and clotheslines Taker out of the ring. Taker says “ah, screw it,” but Rock follows them out and we get the obligatory “Let’s take a walk around the arena and brawl a little bit” spot. OK, it’s only been 2 minutes into the match. Snore. Nothing of note happens for a while. After 2 ½ minutes of garbage, Taker gets a suplex on the aisle. Rock goes into the ring steps. Finally back in the ring, Taker gets a two count. Taker with an arm wringer, another one, I’m literally falling asleep. OLD SKOOL, but Rock crotches him. Rock gets a bottle of water and it’s the EVIAN SPEW OF DEATH (TM Scott Keith). They brawl in the crowd some more. Oh, great. Once again, nothing of note happens. Now they fight around the announce position. Taker uses the ring bell to knock a chair the Rock was holding into his face. Cool spot. Of course if I was the ref I would DQ the Undertaker so this match could end. Taker chokes the Rock. Bearer hits Rock with his shoe. FINALLY back in the ring. Taker pounds him in the corner. Rock fights back, Irish whip, but Taker gets that cool jumping DDT for two. WE HIT THE CHINLOCK~! Rock fights back, but Taker gets a big boot, for two. YAY, another chinlock. Arm drops once, twice, not thrice. Taker Irish whip, Rock reverses, again, and Rock gets a Samoan drop for two. Rock with a whip, Taker reverses, double clothesline and it’s a DOUBLE KO SPOT. Taker sits up. Rock fights back, punches in bunches in the corner, but Taker fights back. Cross corner whip by Taker, TOMBSTONE, no, Rock gets a DDT, for two. Taker reverses a cross corner whip, REF BUMP. Bodyslam, PEOPLE’S ELBOW~! Ross: “Who’s your Daddy, Undertaker?!” No ref to count. Taker with a low blow, Paul Bearer has a ether-soaked rag. Oh, yay. But wait, Rock with two clotheslines, he takes the ether rag and puts it in Taker’s face. ONE OF MY FAVORITE SPOTS OF ALL TIME. Oooh, here’s Triple H. KICK WHAM PEDIGREE. Ross: “What a no-good, lousy, son of a bitch.” Taker pin, 1, 2, NO. TOMBSTONE, goodbye Rock. 1, 2, 3. Undertaker retains at 19:02. WHOSE IDEA WAS IT TO GIVE THEM 20 MINUTES? AND HALF OF IT WAS GARBAGE BRAWLING! ½* What a near-DUD epic. JR wonders if HHH could be the suitable replacement.

-Backstage, they throw HHH out of the building. Vince: “He’s my tag team partner!” Shawn: “No shit Sherlock, you think I didn’t know that?” Vince calls someone.

 

-KOTR Final: X-Pac vs. Mr. Ass- Michael Cole stands with Billy. He has four words for y’all…KISS MY ROYAL ASS. Wow, Ass is BOSS on the microphone. Like I said, why not have a BATTLE OF THE OUTLAWZ~!? Billy stomps him to start, and works on the neck. Cross corner whip, and a Billy Stinger Splash. Another one, but he misses the splash. X-Pac clotheslines him out of the ring. X-Pac with a slingshot plancha, and back in the ring. X-Pac goes up top, and gets a cross body or something for two. X-Pac violence, Billy reverses a cross corner whip and gets a bulldog for two. He works the neck some more. X-Pac’s head meets the turnbuckle, but he fights back, cross corner whip reverses, Ass gets a gorilla press slam, and a kneedrop. Now he locks in a front face lock. The crowd is dead. Billy: “SHUTUP!” That Mr. Ass, what a heat machine. X-Pac fights out to zero pop. Lawler: “That Mr. Ass has a perfectly formed ass.” Ass gets a powerslam. FAMEASSER~! Only gets two after a cocky pin (not Jericho’s) Gunn: “BULLSHIT!” X-Pac gets the X-Factor, Billy kicks out. Kicks in the corner, OH NO NOT THE BRONCO BUSTER, but afterwards Billy gets a neckbreaker for two. Ass goes up top, but X-Pac dropkicks him. X-Pac: “C’Mon you MOTHERFUCKER!” X-Pac tries a superplex but Ass knocks him down, second rope Fameasser, 1, 2, 3. Rockabilly is your King of the Ring at 5:34. ¾*

 

-Video package for the main event, including the Higher Power angle, Stephanie being abducted, and my favorite, “WHERE TO, STEPHANIE?!?” Wow, it’s focusing on Stephanie pretty much. “It’s just business.” Linda made Stone Cold the CEO. That Linda, what an exciting actress. Footage of Austin at the WWF Offices. COW MANURE, the best catalyst for ANY STORYLINE!

 

-Handicap Ladder Match for complete control of the WWF with NO Corporate interference: Vince & Shane McMahon vs. Stone Cold- Vince originally introduces STEVE BLACKMAN as the suitable replacement, but that pesky GTV reveals that Shane is actually OK, so Shawn drags him out to compete. As HBK’s music plays, JR: “Are you losing your smile again, King?” Shawn says Blackman is GI Joe-looking. MUAHAHAHA. Austin gets an UNBELIEVABLE pop. The McMahons start by getting the ladder, but Austin runs them over, and kills them. Austin takes control of Vince for a little bit, and puts him in the ring. Austin with a clothesline on Vince, and he stomps a MUDHOLE~! Shane tries to stop him but gets a LOU THESZ PRESS, BY GAWD. FU Elbow on Shane. More stomps on Vince, and elbows into McMahon’s throat. Vince gets a stungun of sorts, and goes into the turnbuckle. Austin CROTCHES SHANE ON THE POST. Poor Shane, and Austin lays out Shane outside. Vince runs from Austin, and Shane clotheslines Austin, and the McMahons beat on him, and choke him with a wire. Vince gets the ladder, but Shane gets whipped into the steel steps. Austin knocks Vince down while he was holding the ladder, and stomps him. Vince gets run into the KOTR set, which is a bunch of ladders set up. Austin no sells Shane’s punches, so Shane runs away and goes on top of the ladder structure. Shane gives Austin the bird. Austin climbs up too, and pounds on Shane, and Shane falls off. Heh. The McMahons get run into some of the ladders, which knocks down the whole entrance structure. Whoa. Austin starts going to the ring with the real ladder. Shane goes in, Shane goes out via Austin. Vince eats ladder. And so does Shane, who tumbles over the announce table and onto JR. MUAHAHAHA. JR: “He’s right down here, Steve, RIGHT HERE!” Austin puts Shane on the announce table and climbs the ladder outside. FU ELBOW THROUGH THE ANNOUNCE TABLE! JR: “Shane, who is YOUR daddy?!” Vince & Austin climb the ladder outside, Vince falls off, but Vince pushes him through the US announce table. JR: “Son of a BITCH!” That bump looked ugly. The table didn’t budge. Vince goes inside with the ladder, and climbs he looks to be there, but Austin gets a low blow and climbs, and slams Vince’s head into the ladder. King: “This whole match has been a low blow.” Austin throws Vince from the top. Clothesline on Shane, and he stomps a mudhole. He rams Shane with the ladder a couple times, and Vince tumbles into it. Clothesline on Vince. Austin with a catapult into the ladder on Shane, and Austin drops the ladder on him. He puts the ladder on Shane and stands on it. Shane taps out, Heh. Austin stomps a mudhole in Vince. Austin sets up the ladder, but Vince tips it over. Shane tries to climb without the ladder (standing on Vince’s hands), and then they try the Chicken Fight position. Neither work. Austin pulls himself up, and knocks them down. STUNNER BY GAWD ON VINCE! STUNNER ON SHANE! Austin climbs, and A MYSTERIOUS SOMEONE RAISES THE BRIEFCASE! WHO RAISED THE BRIEFCASE BY GAWD?!?! King: “It was a camera angle!” Vince climbs, and the briefcase is lowered, but Austin climbs, they both fight on the ladder, Shane tips the ladder over, and climbs, the briefcase lowers, and Shane gets the briefcase. The McMahons have complete control of the company at 17:08. **1/2 Fun match. AUSTIN WAZ SCREWED BAH GAWD. JR says Austin’s life will be a living hell, but of course he won the title from Undertaker tomorrow night on RAW. JR promises a Hell Toupee.

 

-STAY AWAY! STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PIECE OF CRAP AS YOU CAN! Definitely the worst WWF PPV of 1999. Horrible.

 

I think I have to cheer myself up. Look for a rant on Royal Rumble 2000 (The match only) soon.

Actually, watch WWF Armageddon 99 was worse overall. HEADLINING TITLE MATCH! BIG SHOW VS BIG BOSS MAN!!!!!!!!!

 

KOTR 95 takes the cake for worst KOTR PPV ever.

1. Tag-Team Battle Royal- Fun match

 

2. Angle-Blackman- Decent

 

3. Miss Kitty takes her bra off- Innovative & Fun

 

4. Fat Guys-Hollys- Horrible yet short

 

5. Euro Title- Bad match

 

6. X-Pac-Kane (Cage)- Surprisingly good match

 

7. Chyna-Jericho- Very good match

 

8. NAO-Rock 'n Sock- Decent

 

9. Bossman-Show- Bad but only 3 minutes long

 

10. Vince-HHH- Energetic brawl

 

Overall, the good outweighs the bad.

I admit, ima sucker for B.R.s but still they arent good.

 

Angle/Blackman was blah. (angle was green and blakcman doesnt know how to carry a match really unless a weapon is envolved)
