Guest TheyCallMeMark Report post Posted June 9, 2002 Ok, I never watched WCW/ECW at all. The only things I've seen are some Booker T stuff I hunted down (which I liked) and a couple cruiser matches. Everyone around here is always pimping Lance Storm as TechnicalMasterMan... Which I have definatly not seen in his work to date in the WWF. The guy has just seemed like another generic midcarder. The other night agains Kidman though he busted some nice high moves out and I thought that was pretty cool; definatly better than the mediocre ringwork I've seen from him so far. Basically I just have a few questions: 1. Is he good in the carrier way or the carryable way? 2. Who's he comparable to as far as ring-work goes? 3. Many say that Edge's greatest match to date was with Angle, but I beg to differ. This is a highly underrated match that no one really mentions anymore 2: I would say Chris Benoit but he's not as aggressive... probably Bret Hart in style 3: There are really too many to mention, and I'm in a hurry. Hunt down a Best of Lance Storm tape. I got one from RF Video. It's got all the matches you need to prove to you that Storm's awesome. Until then, check out SS 01, opening match for the IC title 4: His technical ability above all. But he actually does have a charisma about him, it's just that he plays an "uncharismatic" guy. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 9, 2002 First let me say that Storm is ghastly overrated, he simply hasn't had the matches to put him up in the top tier of Canadian wrestlers. 1. Is he good in the carrier way or the carryable way? -Carrier. He has been put in matches with Maven and Orton just so they could benefit from his knowledge. He trained Justin Credible up in Calgary w/ the harts, so he knows his stuff. 2. Who's he comparable to as far as ring-work goes? -I can't honestly say that I have seen someone like Lance Storm. Lance is really awkward in the ring, you can always see him ready for the next spot, he isn't very natural... too much of a worker. I would compare him to a very 'tight' Chris Jericho (or very polished...too polished). Jericho is more care free in the ring, but in terms of diversity and dexterity, he would be the closest. 3. Who's he comparable to as far as ring-work goes? A serious Owen Hart, good highflying, kicks and submission. 3. What good matches has he had, dates etc. so I can hunt them down. Against Edge when he lost the Intercontinental title at SummerSlam 2001 plus alot of his earlier work. 4. Your personal favourite things about Lance Storm. With WWE's schedule the way it is, its just amazing that he has the time to update his site weekly, much less answer tons of comments from fans all over the world. This is a highly underrated match that no one really mentions anymore I liked both matches equally, but I have to give the extra point to Edge/Angle at Backlash because it was 100% clean, baby (recall that Christian ran in during the Summerslam match).
