WWE announces 2007 DVDs

Recommended Posts

Blockbuster's Exclusive content for One Night Stand is the Cena/Lashley vs. Shane/Umaga/Khali Handicap Match from RAW and the Boogeyman/Little Boogeyman vs. Finlay/Hornswoggle from Saturday's Night Main Event.

Thanks for the info. What are the regular dvd extras?

I saw ONS on PPV, so I didn't rent it, I figured I'd just get it when it comes out this week. They actually listed the exclusive extras on the back of the box this time though.

Strange thing is, Judgment Day actually is renting pretty well and because of me, the copy we get for sale sells out the first day it is out for the PPVs, but ONS we only got 1 rental copy and no sale copies. We may still get a sale copy, but the computer says it is not on order.

Also, Vengenace is not listed properly in the computer, so it won't be until the week before its release (released on 7/24), that I will know if it will be there. The Bash is already listed in the computer, two disc set and all.

I think the Legends DVD Box set is all the legends ones that have been release in a box set.

Its 14 DVDs so lets see:

Superstar Graham: 2 DVD

Roddy Piper: 3 DVD

Jake Roberts: 2 DVD

Dusty Rhodes: 3 DVD

Managers DVD: 1 DVD

Legends of 80s: 3 DVDS

This adds to 14 and they all if I recall have the WWE Legends Tag on it.

This could also mean the WCW one is like that

9 DVDS

Flair 3 DVD

Horsemen 2 DVD or Pillman 2 DVD

Dusty 3 DVD

Managers 1 {This one spans both WWE and WCW}

We will have to wait until Tuesday.

I would assume if its any new content then WWEShop would have had something by now:-)

Kevin

If that is what comes out I'll be disappointed. I was looking forward to new DVD's featuring maybe some stuff from the 80's and 90's. If it is made up of the Flair, Horsemen, Dusty, and Managers then what was the point.

If it featured Goldberg, Steiner, and practically all the guys from the 80's it would be a good box set.

That is exactly what it is. I went to bestbuy.com and they had a pic, it contains the following:

Flair

4 Horsemen

Dusty

Pillman

Monday Night War

Its actually more than 9 DVDs

WCW Bundle

The Legends Bundle is:

Bret Hart

Jake Roberts

Billy Graham

Roddy Piper

Pillman

Dusty

This adds up to 15 actually in my book

WWE Legends Bundle

The Cena Edge Bundle is the 5 PPV DVDs where CENA fought Edge

I am not going to list those but:

Cena 5 Disc

That's crap. Although I would have to believe we'll eventually see a "Rise and Fall of WCW" DVD. Perhaps WWE wants to wait and see if they can work a deal with Sting to have him involved with the feature? You can't have a WCW DVD without some type of input from Sting.

I'm not surpised about John Cena. Vince loves the guy so he's going to give Cena the best treatment possible. Word Life left off at Christmas in Iraq against The Big Show in 2003 so I can see 5 discs easily fitting 4 years worth of work. That if WWE doesn't recycle stuff from the Word Life DVD. I'll agree that its bullshit either way since Taker has been in way longer and he only got three fucking discs!

Was TLC II previously released on a DVD when WWE sucked at blurring the scratch logo? It looks AWFUL on the Ladder Match DVD, especially compared to the fairly unnoticeable blurring in TLC 3.

Also, caught this news blurb on WO.com today:

"Some new WWE DVD releases on 7/3 are Superstars of WCW, WWE Legends and John Cena (5 disc) "

well tlc 2 was at wm x7 so it was on the anthology box set in 2005. another note, at least on the ladder dvd set, before the match they hav edited out limp bizkits my way for the "adrenaline rush" song TNA uses, wonder if wwe even realizes that song is linked to TNA? (then again they used to use Lex Lugers song for hotline commericals in 96 and billy kidmans 1st wcw theme for shotgun sat nite)

got the ONS dvd. They have replaced the "Famous" song with a generic rock song without lyrics. Thats fine but when they introduce the lumberjacks in the Kane/Henry match, they play it so loud they have to silence the ring announce, I guess the announcers werent talking during the intros so they wanted to make sure no trace of the original song appear. oddly o nthe spanish language track you do hear the intros. weird to see benoit here. they didnt have time to earse him from the dvd I guess. I would think that the vengeance dvd would edit any mention of him (ie the announcing that benoit will not be in the ecw title match due to personal reasons)

the show pretty much sucked, save for the ladder match which wasnt even as good as I would have thought. Cena/Khali is surprisingly good, and finish loks pretty cool, except for the replays showing that he didnt fall that far and onto padding

Geez, do you guys buy every PPV on DVD, no matter how bad it is?

yea I know its dumb but I can get them for 15 bucks with my discount so Its hard to pass up, despite having 24/7, they take too long to air the shows, like 3-4 months later. I gues I just like collecting the dvds, they do look cool when dispalyed in order :P

I'd like any of those DVDs except Shane McMahon's. Don't know if I'd want a Sting DVD released now. Unless the superstar in the feature is deceased, to have a DVD about a superstar without actual input from that superstar is kind of lame. If they can eventually come to some sort of agreement with Sting after his run in TNA has ended, I'd be all for it. If half of the DVDs listed are eventually released, I'll have quite a few DVDs to add to my collection as that is an impressive list.

I'm surprised there isn't more reaction due to the fact that MACHO MAN RANDY SAVAGE is actually a choice. So much for being blacklisted from the WWE?

Savage was never blacklisted from WWE. I don't know where any of that shit came from.

They even interviewed Savage in the first Smackdown magazine in 2003.

The only reason they stay stay away from him is because he asks for buckets of money.

WWE Vengeance 2007 comes out on DVD on this coming Tuesday July 24th.

The regular DVD extras are mini-studio interviews with some of the former champions that were present for the Night of Champions (only one I looked at was one with Dean Malenko, where he talks briefly about being Cruiserweight champ and the match with Eddie when leaving ECW put him on the map).

Blockbuster once again has an exclusive bonus disc. The two bonus matches are Cena/Lashley vs. Booker/Orton and Cade/Murdoch vs. Hardyz (I am assuming this one is the title change leading up to the PPV).

The Edge DVD set could be worth checking out....but they should wait until his career is winding down so you can get a real sample of his career's work

I think this is interesting:

Rey Mysterio: The Biggest Little Man

Relive some of the Rey Mysterio’s classic rivalries with Superstars like Eddie Guerrero, Kurt Angle, Mark Henry, Randy Orton, JBL, and Chris Benoit. Also, Rey Mysterio: The Biggest Little Man will showcase some of the high-flying Superstar’s most memorable tag team matches with partners RVD, Eddie Guerrero and Batista.

I forgot to mention, there was one Benoit mention in the Vengeance DVD. They edited out most. Of course all the Don't Try this at Home and intro videos had him taken out. All references to him in the ECW match were removed, although there was one audible "We Want Benoit" chant from the crowd. They mention Nitro is a substitute, but don't say for what. I didn't see the PPV live, but during one point in the US Title match, they are naming men who used the US Title as a stepping stone to the World title and in the middle of them, there is some dead air, I am assuming Benoit was pulled. At the end of the US Title match though, they do say how MVP has had a great month, beating great champions in both Flair and Chris Benoit.
