If it's RVD...I'd assume it's a Raw show. If The Hurricane's fighting, it's SD!

I'm going on June 28 to a house show at the MCI Center in Washington DC! It's a RAW brand show, but since Hogan was champion when the show was originally announced, for the first time as a special appearence it's gonna be Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin teaming up against Ric Flair and Eddy Guerrero!!! Whoo!!! Plus RVD vs. Undertaker for the WWE title and Brock vs. Buh Buh in a street fight. Sweet stuff.

Who does the WW(F)E think they're fooling?  The World belt has only changed hands at a house show once since the PPV era began, and that one time was for odd political reasons and took place at Madison Square Garden.  Talk about insulting people's intelligence.

So what do you suggest? That they don't put titles on the line at house shows? Part of the fun in going to house shows is seeing title defenses. Sure, they're not going to change hands, but who cares? It makes it feel like a real show.

My point is, everyone knows damn well that the titles aren't going to change hands.  Even the marks know that much, it takes a profoundly stupid person to believe that the titles will change hands at a house show.  It makes it so that there's not a whole lot of excitement or apprehension about what's going to happen.  I'd rather just have a non-title match where you can't call the whole finish ahead of time.

Remember also that since it's a house show, they're given more time to work with each other to construct a really good match..

And what could be very interesting is the fact that RVD is fighting the Undertaker at a house show, which must mean that maybe, just maybe, they've got that feud in mind. Even if it may not be for the title.

Actually, I can think of at least two, maybe three times.

I'm fairly certain that it was a house show where Ric Flair regained the belt from Macho Man in 1992.  Bret Hart then beat Flair at a house show to win the title later that year.  (Back to back World Title switches at house shows???)

Also, Diesel beat Bob Backlund at a house show at MSG in 1995 to win the belt.

Still, only 3 World Title switches at house shows in like the last 18 years... your point is still made.

It was actually 1994 when Diesel won the Title from Backlund, but hey..

Im gonna go to a Smackdown show on a Monday Night (July 8th), and then come home and watch RAW taped.

Bah, its the first time the WWE has been to my home town(Salisbury MD, aka the middle of nowhere MD) since they did a house show in November of 1995 which aired in December.

12/02/1995 SUPERSTARS: SALISBURY, MD

1.  Razor Ramon vs. Ken Raper

2.  King Mabel vs. Dave Thornberg/Jerry Morrow

3.  Ahmed Johnson vs. Jason Ahrnt

4.  Owen Hart vs. Matt Hardy

5.  Duke Droese vs. Reginald Walker

6.  Barry Horowitz/Hakushi vs. 123 Kid/Sid

12/09/1995 SUPERSTARS: SALISBURY, MD

1.  Diesel vs. Rad Radford

2.  British Bulldog vs. Al Phillips

3.  Yokozuna vs. John Crystal

4.  Dean Douglas vs. Tony Williams

5.  Bob Backlund vs. Savio Vega

12/16/1995 SUPERSTARS: SALISBURY, MD

1.  Aldo Montoya vs. Goldust

2.  Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs. Titus Dunning

3.  Marty Jannetty/Razor Ramon vs. Jerry Faith/Jason Ahrndt

4.  Skip vs. Rich Myers

5.  Issac Yankem vs. Ahmed Johnson

Since that time, we've had 2 Nitros, 2 Thunders (most notable being the one where Goldberg smashed up the limo with his hand and ended up being out for a while) and Balls Mahoney getting banned from Maryland for blading at an independent show that I didnt attend.

The Arena seats less than 5,000 people and doesnt sell alcohol, so its no wonder that the WWE hasn't shown up around here in forever.

What I've always wondered about House Shows is if everything is the same as a TV taping, with TitanTron intros and announcers.  I've read that wrestlers test new promos/catchphrases at them as well, is this also true?

I'd like to complain about how how house show tickets are, but I knew I was going to go from the start seeing as though the WWE hasn't been here in 7 years.  40 bucks for a ringside ticket though.

Damn.  I though Tickets to Smackdown were high at $35 for ringside back in January when I went back in Charleston.

Slapnuts, hate to break it to you, but:

1.) Austin's gone forever.

2.) HHH will be champ after KOTR, so RVD won't be getting a title shot ever again.

No set or commentators, but everything else is there.  The TitanTron videos usually play over the video scoreboards, and you can view the action from there as well if you want.  Traditionally House Shows don't have pyro either, but the WWE seems to have done with that recently.

This is true.  Also, new angles and feuds will be tested as well.  They will often throw two guys together and see how good a match they get out of them (the last House Show I saw featured Benoit/Angle before they started feuding), and if it goes over than you will likely see it on TV soon enough.
