Guest Report post Posted June 10, 2002 I've never beaten the Survival mode of No Mercy. This is something I live with. My record is 71 eliminations in 47:48. Only two of those eliminations were through pinfall (Mankind and Scotty II Hotty). I was using Viscera, and I was eliminated by Mr. Ass (what a showdown!). So what are the records held around here? I'm sure there will be countless people who've made it all the way to 99. Let me hear it, people.
Guest Report post Posted June 10, 2002 I went to 99 with 11 pinfalls, 2 submissions and 3 Knock Outs. Don't remeber the time though.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted June 10, 2002 I've made it a couple of times... sometimes I just get tired at like 96 and cut the game off. I've done it with the Rock (his clothesline is golden for it), and my RVD CAW and Flyboy CAW.
Guest Report post Posted June 10, 2002 I went to 99 with 11 pinfalls, 2 submissions and 3 Knock Outs. See, whenever I would play it, I made it my goal to knock out as many people as possible in as little time as possible. For instance, during my record run with Viscera, I only got the pinfalls I did because other wrestlers had already sufficiently softened them up.
Guest Cataclysm911 Report post Posted June 10, 2002 I've beat it with somewhere around 70 pinfalls. You get the most money that way. Don't bother to ring out at all, it pays dick.
Guest Dr. Wrestlingphysics Report post Posted June 10, 2002 I've only completed survival once, and it came as a surprise as the elimination counter was only on 86, and I didn't think the CPU had knocked out anywhere near enough wrestlers! Most of my "wins" were through knocking out of the ring, but there were a few pins and submissions in there. I got about $6500 or something, I'm not really sure, as I was still in a state of shock at winning!
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted June 10, 2002 I never had the patience to pin al of those guys, so I usually knocked them out of the ring. I wasn't neccesarily doing it for the money, I was playing so that I could unlock people.
Guest alfdogg Report post Posted June 10, 2002 I've beat it several times, mostly by ring outs, with a few pins in between. I'm not sure what my record time is, but it's usually in between 40-45 minutes. The most I've eliminated is 96, I think. Usually between $60,000-$70,000. Do you get more money with pins or submissions? I've also heard about secret backstage areas that can be unlocked if you eliminate all 100 guys. My cartridge has the bug in it, though, and it's still $50 I think to buy a new one. I don't want to take a chance at that having the bug, too, even if it's just a small chance that it actually will. I just catch them as they come in and whip them in and clothesline them out. If they're real weak (like if I see the other computer people going for pins on them), I'll pin them with the back drop pin, which is A damage and should always get the pin in thouse stuations. Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted June 10, 2002 76 people in 41:21. 60 ring outs, 10 K-O's, 5 submission, 1 pin.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted June 10, 2002 Ive beaten it twice (once to get all the secret charcters, the other to build up money) Just pick edge (or create goldberg like i did) or anybody with a spear. Its the easiest way to get em out. my strategy is to let 2 guys fight and then i just pick off the 4th man as soon as they come in. that way if one of the new guys outmuscles you, you can always eliminate one of the poor bastards youve kept in there for 40 minutes. build up your special with taunts as much as possible and just keep spearing them. Guest Renegade Report post Posted June 10, 2002 ive finished it a couple of times, i find it more tedious length wise than hard. I played Revenge and WM to death so im really good at NM
Guest converge241 Report post Posted June 10, 2002 i find it more tedious length wise than hard yes very boring. whats also annoying is getting eliminated in a bullshit manner.
Guest DrEvil Report post Posted June 10, 2002 Do you get more money with pins or submissions? Ring out - $10 Submission/TKO - $210 Pin - $310 Add $10 for each wrestler you eliminate (ie: 1st ring out $10, 2nd ring out $20, 3rd ring out $30...) There are bonuses built in that I can't be bothered to figure out. I did a spreadsheet following the above formula, but the cash I got for eliminating 50 or whatever was more than the amount that the formula said I would get. I've won survival mode a few times but I've never been able to eliminate all 99 wrestlers. I go along great then around the 70 or 80 mark, someone goes flying out from a computer punch. I wouldn't believe stories about hidden areas/wrestlers if you do eliminate all 99, no reputable sources have ever said this to be a fact. The quickest way to make money is with ring outs (Saturn's spinning leg sweep and The Bradshaw Hammer work best for me). Do it right and you can eliminate 2 or 3 per minute and make $50-60 grand in under an hour. To get the most money, obviously you have to pin them all, but best case scenario is 2 minutes to get a pin, that makes for a 2-3 hour game. One money making method I heard of is to pick Saturn and just lock down the A and B buttons. He'll continually hit his low spinning leg sweep that will either send them flying out of the ring, or he'll slap on a submission to make them tap out. This does work, but I prefer actually playing the game.
Guest alfdogg Report post Posted June 11, 2002 Add $10 for each wrestler you eliminate (ie: 1st ring out $10, 2nd ring out $20, 3rd ring out $30...) Is it the same with pins & everything else?
Guest DrEvil Report post Posted June 11, 2002 Yeah, it would go like this 1st goes out by submission = $210 2nd goes out by ring out = $20 3rd goes out by pin = $330 4th goes out by ring out = $40 5th goes out by pin = $350 basically you have a base amount of $0 for ring out, $200 for submission, and $300 for pin and add $10 x rank of elimination for the dollar value. Guest Report post Posted June 11, 2002 How do you knock somebody out in Survival? Not knocking them out of the ring, but literraly knocking them out. I've always seen the KO in the scoreboard, but I never paid much attention to it. So, the question goes, how do you do it?
Guest alfdogg Report post Posted June 12, 2002 There's only certain moves that get KO's, I guess just use enough of those on them.
Guest Report post Posted June 13, 2002 I've made it all the way a countless number of times but I don't remember the times of any of them. I never knew pinning them and submissions and stuff would get you more money, not that it matters once you get all of the secrets anyway but I always use a custom character of myself so I don't know if you consider that cheating or not. Guest papacita Report post Posted June 13, 2002 I've never beaten the Survival. The most I've eliminated was 69 or 70, but I always get caught in the end. I have the most success with my created wrestler Panther, usually with the superkick type move or the Irish whip/clothesline from hell combo. I always get beat with a fluke elimination, like once I went for a Superkick on Angle, he caught it, locked me in an ankle lock type move and I gave up (I was kicking ass for the whole match). Another favorite of mine was when I went to save Chyna and she turned on my and threw me out....bitch.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted June 13, 2002 I've never beat it. Haven't really paid any attention to it except for a quick buck. But, yeah, I hate those fluke eliminations. I throw my controller half way across the room every time I'm robbed. You know the ones. Where Crash Holly taps you with his pinky and you go flying over the top rope. Or when HHH spits water and it forces you out of the ring.
Guest alfdogg Report post Posted June 17, 2002 There ain't no way I'm gonna go through the whole goddamned game doing just pinfalls. I stopped at about 50 minutes, I had eliminated 28 out of 34 with 26 pins and two ringouts. I got about $11,000-something.
Guest DrEvil Report post Posted June 17, 2002 Those eliminations where your standing in the middle of the ring, get hit with a slap and stumble back to the ropes and out drive me insane. The most bs elimination I've had on me was one time when I put someone out then got caught in a double-team powerbomb. I was saved from the pin initially by the new wrestler running in, but then once he got into the ring, he pinned me for the three. Almost broke the tv on that one.
