Scroby 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2006 So a change in the show has happen. Without explaining what happen, the CCW show is happening somewhere else. The show is happening at 1361 R St in Newman CA. If anyone was planning going, its the same date (Saturday), same time (7:30), and its the same card, just different venus and new city. and I hate to say this but because of the change in venue, at the moment, I won't be Ref-ing CCW. The new venue is just to far for me to drive. I have a shitty car thats needs a fixin, plus afterwards I would have to travel to Oakland to do another show and thats a hour in a half drive from the city of Newman to Oakland. The travel is just to far for my little car to handle, so at the moment I'm not working with CCW until I get myself a better car. I'll still post show pre-views and results for those who are following CCW here, but unfortunaily I'm not with them for awhile.
Scroby 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2006 Here are the results of last nights show. (Copy and paste job, btw.) CCW wants to thank the town of Newman, CA for its wonderful reception for our first show which was an incredible success! About 150 LOUD fans were able to make it to the FDES Hall (a very stylish theater built in 1914) to watch some of the best action that CCW has had this year! Match #1 featured Sir Samurai with an open challenge to anyone on the CCW roster; He was answered by Virgil who managed to defeat the more experienced Samurai and put plenty of egg on his face for opening his big mouth! Match#2 had the debut of Kimo against the rising CCW Star Sir Timothy Thatcher and his nefarious butler, Lord William. Kimo fought valiantly but unfortunately could not withstand the wrestling skills of Thatcher who managed to get the submission victory. Sir Samurai's Dojo was next where he interviewed Buddy Sotello Esquire-- who informed the booing crowd that Rock Legend Scum Adam Thornstowe had no desire to waste his time coming to Newman, even for a title match, so that the match instead would be against his 7', 350 lb bodyguard, Mr. Massacre! Buddy hammed it up letting the audience take a good look at his massive minion, and then amid a chorus of jeers, went backstage to prepare for his upcoming matches. Match#3 had the fan's favorite, Mother Truckin Otis square off against Ray Keyjemura. Always dangerous, Ray pulled out all the tricks he knew to try to stop the massive Otis, including his deadly red mouth spray which caught Otis right in the face! However that just made Otis even madder, who wound up flattening Ray with his finishing move, the "Gotter' Done"! Match #4 was the special grudge tag match between the Reno boys Malachi and Luster the Legend with Buddy Sotello Esq. against Old School Oliver John and Big Ugly. The match featured some intense moves especially by Malachi and Old school, as both of them worked each others arms and shoulders to try to reduce the power of both individuals. Unfortunately for the team of John and Ugly, inexperienced rookie ref Alan was not up to dealing with all the distractions put forth by Buddy Sotello and his syndicate. Just when it looked like Oliver John and Big Ugly were going to be able to defeat the Syndicate, Buddy tripped Big Ugly during a vertical suplex of Luster and held his leg down for the pin...Ref Alan completely missed the obvious cheating by Buddy and Oliver and Big Ugly needed to punish him for his poor officiating. Amid chants of "this ref sucks, this ref sucks", Alan was taught a harsh lesson for his indiscretions-- he was given a VISCIOUS, arena-rattling chop across the chest by Oliver John, and then proceeded to give him a death-valley driver! The fans and even the Syndicate loved the lesson taught to the ref! You can be sure that Alan will be paying a lot more attention to managing business in and out of the ring next match! Match #5 would determine the top contender for the CCW heavyweight championship, between El Chupacabra (no longer Hijo De), and Wrestling Personafied, Rik Luxury. Rik got on the mic and berated the fans and the town of course, only to be cut off by the enormous crowd eruption when "Chupy" came to the ring! The match was intense, featuring two of the best up and coming talents in California's indy wrestling scene! Chupy showed that his hard work all year with CCW is about to pay off, because he defeated Rik and became the #1 contender to the CCW heavyweight title! Match#6: Vinnie "The Innovator" Massaro put the coveted CCW title against the man of massive mahem, Mr. Massacre! Vinnie had never faced someone with the sheer size of Mr. M before, and with Buddy Sotello around ringside offering constant distractions, it was not easy for Vinnie to defend his title... Massacre started off muscling Vinnie around the ring, but Vinnie's experience allowed him to be the first man to take Massacre off his feet! During the intense action, ref Guido got knocked out in the corner, and when Vinnie grabbed Buddy on the ring apron, Buddy called the rest of the syndicate to come in to help... Thanks to triple teaming Vinnie, and a couple of spiked pile drivers later, it looked like Mr Massacre had the title all but won-- however in came Oliver John and Big Ugly, who were able to clear the ring, and with the strength of all 3 men, were able to knock out the massive Mr. M and revived Guido in time to have Vinnie get the 3 count! A very exciting match indeed to reward the Newman fans for our first show out! CCW will be returning to the FDES Hall, December 9th at 730pm. Please check back here or our website www.californiachampionshipwrestling.com for upcoming card information and event details! Thanks again to the city of Newman for its great crowd and we are looking forward to extending the CCW network across California!
