Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2006 I have heard that there is a way to get rid of the 'Authentic' Windows XP warning, without plopping down $150. I own an authentic version of XP, but the version on my computer was installed by a friend, and isn't. And the other day someone told me there was a way to turn off or delete the Authenticating patch so I can get the security downloads, something that was instituted when other owners of legit copies started getting that message. Anybody know how to get rid of it, short of reformatting my hard drive?
