Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted June 10, 2002 What Do You Guys think Of: Sevendust Nofx Swollen Members The Tea Party Our Lady Peace
Guest treble charged Report post Posted June 10, 2002 Sevendust: Don't know much of their stuff, except for what is on Forceable Entry, which is decent. Nofx: Don't know much of their stuff, either. Swollen Members: While I'm not really into much rap/hip hop, I really like these guys. Especially Lady Venom. The Tea Party: Overplayed! Our Lady Peace: Consistantly putting out good songs, even if some of them are somewhat similar. Superman's Dead is probably one of my favourite songs. Guest Mark4steamboat Report post Posted June 11, 2002 Sevendust I went from hating them to loving this band. Very underrated and they put on a great live show. NOFX Im not that big on punk as much as i used to be but i liked them on warped tour and theyre a pretty good band swollen members- ? the tea party- ? Our Lady Peace Unknowns in the states but an extremely talented band that should be big down here.
Guest Report post Posted June 11, 2002 *Sevendust - Bleh. *NOFX - Bleh. *Swollen Members- Huh? *The Tea Party - I know of them, but I can't say I'm too familiar with their music. They're big in Canada, though, whatever that means. *Our Lady Peace - Bleh.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted June 11, 2002 Sevendust - they were allright (and great live) on the first album , but theyve fallen apart Nofx- hobofobic. lol. great, a fun band (also great live). see them in a club as opposed to the warped tour Swollen Members - dont know The Tea Party-dont know them either apart that they are canadian and opened for ozzy Our Lady Peace- killer. saw them twice, once in chiacgo years ago (won a trip to chicago from a radio station)

Guest C-Bacon Report post Posted June 12, 2002 Sevendust - couldn't name any of their songs, but from what i've heard, they're too incoherent and loud for my taking Nofx - i get them confused with mxpx Swollen Members - not a big fan. groups like this don't have much longevity The Tea Party - great band. saw them at edgefest 2001 and would love to see them again. "Psychopomp" is one of the best songs i have ever heard. Our Lady Peace - blah. Naveed was good. Clumsy made me a fan, but then they got repetative and have been releasing the same album ever since. Used to be the biggest band in Canada, after Nickelback took over that spot. Not that it means anything of course
Guest Insanityman Report post Posted June 12, 2002 Sevendust: Decent, haven't heard too much. Nofx: Pretty good band, I'm into punk (though by all means not even CLOSE to my favorites). Swollen Members: Never heard, period. The Tea Party: Not big in Iowa... barely heard. Our Lady Peace: Look above.
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted June 12, 2002 Sevendust: Shitty nu-metal band trying to cash in on whats popular. Nofx: Couldn't care less, but they are not a pop-punk band, and have some talent. Swollen Members: Eh...decent. The Tea Party: Overplayed? Only if you are Canadian, but these guys you gotta see at a live show. Very loud, and Jeff Burrows is an amazing drummer. Our Lady Peace: First two albums are excellent, but they got boring fast, and trying to be like Nickelback and sell out to the Americans.
Guest raptor Report post Posted June 12, 2002 I'm only familiar with two, so they're all I'll comment on: Sevendust In my experience, they seem very, very generic. I'm very tired of the whole nu-metal genre (except Korn). Our Lady Peace Quite simply: my favorite band at the moment. From Naveed to Spiritual Machines, there is no better catalogue in modern music. Guest Report post Posted June 12, 2002 Though I've never heard anything by the Swollen Members, I'm predisposed to hating them simply for their stupid name.
Guest Report post Posted June 12, 2002 Sevendust - Fairly decent. Their first CD was great, I saw them live for that, it wasn't a bad show. After the first CD, everything went to shit. NOFX - haven't heard enough of them Swollen Members - Catchy songs, but I saw them do a live collaboratization with Gob on MuchMusic and all Gob did was sit here and look at each other like "What the fuck is going on?" They didn't look happy at all to be there. Oh, right, Swollen Members. The name is dumb, the songs aren't that bad. The Tea Party - Back in my young, naive days, I saw a video of theirs and thought it was Metallica. I remember thinking "Wow, Metallica is really toned down. They suck." Turns out Metallica rocks and Tea Party sucks. Our Lady Peace - Great band. The live version of "Whatever" is a lot better than the Forceable Entry version. I'm really digging their new song, too (released in the states, I'm not sure about up there in Canada eh). Since I get MuchMusic, I've been a fan of theirs for awhile. Guest treble charged Report post Posted June 12, 2002 If you're talking about Somewhere Out There, then yes, it has been released in Canada (seems like for 6 months, although it's probably closer to 3, and the CD STILL isn't out yet).
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted June 13, 2002 NOFX are awesome, i don't care for the rest much.
Guest hardyz1 Report post Posted June 16, 2002 Sevendust: Shitty nu-metal band trying to cash in on whats popular. Uh, no. They've been around since 1997. And they kick ass.
Guest JohnSkins Report post Posted June 18, 2002 Agreed, 7Dust is indeed the shit and have been around far far longer than the shit that is NU metal. NOFX also kicks ass by the way, get the NOFX/Rancid split
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted June 22, 2002 Sevendust - Heard very little, they're pretty good. Nofx - r0XoRz Swollen Members - Who? The Tea Party - Who?! Our Lady Peace - Everyone I know likes 'em. Why, I can't imagine.
