I don't think he was really protected..he tapped once with the ref down, and then again after. I think they were trying to scare people into thinking it would be a bullshit ending before doing what people wanted.

Fair enough. I would have just much prefered Joe wins clean, with no ref bump or chair bullshit, like Angle did. Make them truly look equal.

Yeah, the sequence before the ref bump was just insanely good.

And Joe clearly came out looking like the better guy tonight, Angle tapped out and then tried to cheat to win, and then tapped out yet again. This totally made Joe as the crowd was going crazy for him at the end.

Definitely left things open for them to top it with the rubber match, hopefully in several months.

I thought Joe looked like more of a badass making Angle tap twice while overcoming the low blow and Angle's attempt at using the chair though it appeared Angle was the aggressor for most of the match. Personally, I could have gone w/o one or two of the anklelock attempts. Just gets redundant after a while. Still, a very nice match.

I swear, after the third exchange of finishers, if Joe tapped again the crowd would have thrown crap into the ring. Alot of ppl were behind Joe and just wanted him to win so bad.

I take it that almost everybody missed one hell of a match tonight. Rest of the ppv wasn't bad, I liked the flag match, the bumps in the Abyss/AJ match, and a little bit of the PCS Invitational.

the VKM thing was ok imo, i don't really care for it, but it was alot better than that stupid bikini contest.

I thought that, on top of having a really strong match, they played with some conventions smartly.

First...everyone knew that the first match went short...and damn did that add to the anklelock/choke series in making (at least me) believe that everything could have been the finish.

Secondly...after Angle tapped following the ref bump...I would have bet dollars to pesos that Angle was winning that match. Joe getting the choke out tap pretty much shocked me.

Workrate was there, the bikini contest and VKM stuff really dragged down the pace. Worth checking out at some point, nothing must see. If you got the cash for replay go for it, otherwise wait for the DVD.

I think I'm gonna wait for the dvd. Save myself $30.

Can someone give me some details on the VKM skits?

They came out dressed as HHH (BG) and HBK (Kip).

They did the DX shtick before a Spirit Squadish group came out. DX would do crotch chops and the SS would take bumps. VKM then brought out a fat oily guy to give a SS member (on his knees) a superkick.

Then VKM went into serious mode and challenged DX to a $1,000,000 challenge for a fight anytime, anywhere. They cussed a lot too.

So is Angle a heel or what? He brags about being the best wrestler ever (which I understand is actually part of his personality outside of the ring), cheats, etc. I get more of a heel vibe out of him than I do from Joe in this feud.

Overall a pretty strong show, steps ahead from the dissapointing ppv last month. Only one really lame part of the show as a whole.

The cable ppv channel was acting all goofy and I pretty much missed the opening match altogether, sounds like it was alright at least?

I didn't get who's bright idea that was for the Young/Traci bikini contest. If this is Russo's idea of humor, it's pathetic. Quite possibly one of the most ridiculously bad segments in TNA history, at least since they started monthly ppvs. The forced laughs of Tenay and West made it even the more lame. Only real strong negative to the show was this. Could have and should have been done on the pre-show or just on Impact if they had to. If the Orlando fans wouldnt be so about EY, this would have flopped bad to another audience in any other location likely. Just god awful unfunny WWE-like "humor" which is ironic since the company publicly rips on the WWE writing so badly in the VKM skits when they are doing the same shit essentially at times like this.

The other skits on the show werent nearly as annoying/bad. One thing though - that new chick interviewer was REALLY off on her segments knocking WWE. I've seen better verbal skills in porns. The VKM stuff was alright, saved alot in part to the quazi-shoot by Road Dogg, as the shit before that was just uncreative bashing of WWE in my eyes. The baseball players angle was alright, kind of cheesy but it seemed to work. I just hope this doesnt mean all of those guys are in an actual match?!!

Sabin-Daniels was a pretty solid match, Lynn-Daniels has promise upcoming.

I enjoyed Styles/Rhino alot from top to bottom. AJ was taking some seriously scary bumps when they were brawling in the crowd and the finish actually swerved me, I thought he was really injured. This feud definately has legs.

AMW/LAX was also a very entertaining match with alot of memorable spots in it. Looks like Storm is going to be the heel in the breakup unless there is a swerve and Harris actually wasn't "hurt" by the glass. Interested to see where they go with those two on Thursday.

The world title match certainly wasnt as good as it could be, but it still was alright, probably about ***. The finish was extremely botched though and shouldnt have ended the match - not sure if Sting didnt want to take the tack bump again or what, but it was certainly not a crisp finish. If anything could be said about this match as a whole, it was "sloppy".

And what to say about Joe-Angle. I was one of the few who, last month, really enjoyed the match even if it only went 14 minutes. This one was even better, got a bit more time, and really was great. Alot of people have already commented on the positives of this match so no need to here. While having them work another match anytime soon is a bad idea, its clear another series of matches with these two down the road is in order, perhaps next BFG or something. At this point, Joe should start the climb back for the title, and as for Angle, who knows - I wouldnt mind seeing him and Sting at the next ppv, that is if Sting will still be around.

Anyone remember what I said in this thread?

They're trying to say that Kurt Angle And Samoa Joe are the two best wrestlers out there today. They'll even it out when they have Joe beat Angle, more than likely, in their next match.

This isn't a hard storyline to figure out. It's a classic naturally developing storyline. They will now either continue to trade wins for a while, or they'll go separate ways which will end up with one of the two with the world title, at which time Angle and Joe will once again cross paths.

This latest match was fantastic, and I don't have a problem with the finish. Not only did Joe make Kurt Angle, the "greatest wrestler in the world", tap out twice in the same match, but he also outsmarted him on his way to victory. I thought the chair shot spot, and then Joe pulling Angle into the choke was just so perfect, it was flawless and was really something special.

Anyone who can't look past the ref bump and the chair shot and see the match for what it was, and the story that it told, is a complete and utter twat, a twat just looking for something to bitch and complain about.

The idea behind the finish was good, but it could have been done way better. That chair rebound spot is great when Kurt is a goofball, but not when he's "the wrestling machine." An ideal finish would have been him nailing Joe with a chair, Joe no-selling it, and then killing Kurt with a musclebuster and a choke for the win.

That is why I hated the chair spot. It was totally out of place for what the match was supposed to be. It didn't fit.

*edits out a smart ass comment about HTQ, simply because it's not fucking worth it*

Sonofabitch.

The story of the match, and it's perfectly obvious, is that Kurt was so frustrated and pissed off that Joe made him tap (when the ref wasn't looking), that he totally fell apart and turned to using methods that "the wrestling machine" wouldn't normally use. He went for the low blow, then tried to use the chair. In this match, that night, not only was Samoa Joe the better wrestler, but he also outsmarted Kurt Angle when he tried to use those underhanded shortcuts.

Joe has the upper hand right now in a big way, not only by defeating Kurt Angle when it was a straight up match, but also because he outsmarted Kurt Angle when he attempted to cheat.

Now, from here on out (at least for a while), we'll more than likely see a very frustrated Kurt Angle on Impact. He might not totally turn straight heel right away, but it'll look like he's on the verge of doing so.

Am I the only one that wants to see Angle/Joe III?

If they have a third match somewhere down the line, surely it won't create as much heat as coming off the back of these last two matches? With it 1-1, now just seems like the perfect time for it. Then the two of them can move on to other things.

Where do they go from here? They can't both chase the title without meeting again, so surely one of them has to be pushed down the card a bit. They were made to look as strong as each other, so that doesnt make sense to me.

I'm sure a lot of people want to see Joe vs. Angle III. But they'd have wanted to see it more if they had spaced the matches out a bit and made them wait. The first match barely had time to register before they want right into the hype for the second match. The Joe vs. Angle matches have been booked like a spotfest; as great as the spots, in this case the Joe vs. Angle matches, are, they don't get the reaction they could because they're happening so quickly. The fans didn't have time to come down from the high of the first matches before they had to pop again for the second. The second match should have been held off until maybe March or April and then the third match, the tie-breaker, should have been held off until Bound For Glory, their biggest PPV of the year. Instead, they've rushed through the first two matches on consecutive PPV's, and we seem set to make it three PPV's in-a-row with Joe vs. Angle, giving them no time to make them as special as they should be.

Why don't you put in a job application as their booker, jackass. I enjoyed the show and enjoyed what I saw tonight. I don't care it if does or doesn't follow any of your ideas, you can use them on fantasy booking or whatever it's called.
