The One And Only CWM Should Learn To Spell Thread

Recommended Posts

It's "No Holds Barred" so nobody should care, right? Or is this one of those weird English/Canadian spelling things, like color with a "u"?

I'm actually partial to the non-American insertion of u into Behaviour, Colour, and so on.

Spelling is, however, an integral tool in conveying one's thoughts and emotions in this day and age of written records and communications.

goodhelmet's spelling lesson for today....

the difference between you're and your

you're is a contraction of you are.

your is a possessive form of you or used as a modifier before a noun.

best way to prevent this problem: spell out you are instead of typing you're

I also think Canadians use "u" in too many words.  "Favourite" always bothered me.

"Favorite" always looks wrong to me.  That's why I like to stick with "favourite".

This is a V and W conversation, so U get the hell out! OK, so maybe it doesn't work as well as "this is an A and B conversation, so C your way out!", but you get the idea... damn... I need to post a lot, I'll be gone for a week soon and I've already almost lost my 16 posts a day average over this week because of graduation stuff ;)

I got a D in spelling back in 6th grade, so I have no reason to be arguing about some other persons lack of spelling proficiency.
