Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted February 15, 2002 Jericho vs. Triple H seems to be ok, but Jericho is improving vastly and Triple H hasn't been improving as of late. For me, the ultimate Main Event would be a Jericho vs. Benoit Ladder Match, but that would never happen with McMahon-I-love-big-men rules....
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted February 15, 2002 I wouldn't mind seeing HHH vs. Jericho but if Angle is thrown in there I wouldn't mind. But that seems like a weird main event for Wrestlemania.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 15, 2002 I would say HHH/Jericho No DQ. Although I think the WWF will have the nWo in the main event.

It won't happen because Benoit won't be healthy physically by Wrestlemania. I think that Jericho Vs. Triple will be fine. It's Wrestlemania. Why wouldn't Triple H work his ass off? Do you know how much adrenaline will be pumping through all of the wrestlers veins? Wrestlemania, to coin a phrase, is the granddaddy of them all. Everyone tends to work harder. Hopefully the ropes won't be loose again this year, eh. As long as the Wrestlemania main-event is one on one, and helps to create a star or advance storylines, I'm happy. Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Report post Posted February 15, 2002 The main event should be Hogan vs. The Rock.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted February 15, 2002 I would rather see Benoit/Austin one on one, but that is in my own little fantasy world where Benoit never got hurt.
Guest Galactic Gigolo Report post Posted February 15, 2002 As Tony stated, the nWo will probably be involved some way in the main event. I hope the WWF doesn't run with Hogan vs. Rock, because I don't know how that would work out to be a good match, but hopefully, somehow the WWF will pull a good main event out of their ass for this card. Let's just hope that Undertaker finally jobs at Wrestlemania, giving the name of the first guy to beat him at Wrestlemania to a young guy.
Guest JerryDrake Report post Posted February 15, 2002 I agree with Hogan Made Wrestling The Rock Vs. Hogan, not for the World Title but main event. Who gives a fuck about workrate, this will be the most emotional match ever, 2 of the biggest Icons 1 on 1.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 15, 2002 Rock vs. Hogan would be a good match, "star power" wise. The WWF man of the '80s vs. the WWF man of the '90s. Sounds good to me.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 15, 2002 Jericho vs. Angle for reasons posted on other threads. P.S. How can Rock be man of the 90's when he debuted in 96 and didn't get over as a face until 99?
Guest 5_moves_of_doom Report post Posted February 15, 2002 I really want the WM ME to have normal rules. No DQ always leads to too much outside brawling and the ending always has someone run in, smack Wrestler A with a chair, and have Wrestler B pin him. HHH vs. Jericho will be awesome if they work the storyline right, maybe having Steph turn on HHH and join Jericho. But HHH vs. Austin is a feud that's been going for a while and that's where the big bucks are. So either way I'm happy.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 15, 2002 That's the way I would hype it. I'm pretty sure the casual fans don't remember The Rock's debuted in '96.
Guest Dick Hertz Report post Posted February 15, 2002 How can you realistically put Benoit in 2 of the possible WM main evnt matches? Even if he wasnt hurt who, besides the internet "smart marks", would buy that? Why not throw Steve Blackman in there somewhere? He has the same amount of personality. The WM main event SHOULD be HHH vs Scott Steiner, and Hogan vs. Rock, and Austin vs. Hall or Nash. It probably will be Y2J vs. HHH, and the rest will stay the same

For me, the ultimate Main Event would be a Jericho vs. Benoit Ladder Match, but that would never happen with McMahon-I-love-big-men rules.... Right, Vinnie Mac always puts big men into the Wrestlemania-Main Events, just like the time those roid-mosters Michaels and Hart clashed ... Actually I don't think that a Jericho and Benoit WM-Mainevent in the future is totally out-of-reach. If Jericho manages to keep his current heat and evolves into a top-heel, and Benoit becomes an Austin- or Rocky-like face, then there should be no problem. Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted February 15, 2002 It's almost too early to call I think. Do we know if the title match will be the main event?
Guest AustinHeadbanger Report post Posted February 15, 2002 While i would love to see Jericho and Benoit ladder, it's not gonna happen. Vince would never let that occur. besides, beniot won't phyiscally be ready. truth be told i believe taht it will be Jericho vs. HHH. the thing is HHH has been moving so slow that it won't be that good. unless, he really busts his ass. Finally, I believe that Rock vs. Hogan would be pretty cool. Yeah, the match would not be the best tech match, but it would be very emotional and exciting. Guest Haku Report post Posted February 15, 2002 Benoit Vs Jaricho ladder match a upper/mid card match at RR 01 so they wouldn't make it a main event at mania.

K i dont understand, HHH or Jericho are not big man yet they will main event. So stop crying. BTW Jericho Vs. Benoit wouldnt be a big enough draw for WM, maybe for a show like Backlash or Judgment Day, hell maybe even King of The Ring.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 16, 2002 They could put Crash vs. Funaki for the title...and it would still draw 1. It's WrestleMania 2. The star power of Austin, Rock, Angle, Jericho, RVD, Hogan, Hall, Nash, HHH are still there. The show would sell.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 16, 2002 People would be pissed if Funaki wrestled Crash in the title match. Unless the title was the newly created Jobber World Title. Like you said. The "star power" should be able to sell on it's own.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted February 16, 2002 if the WWF wanted the true money match, that's Austin-Hogan. As for my personal main, I'm hoping for Jericho-Angle. That seems like the best possibility for a great WRESTLING match. until HGH regains form, I don't want him wasting my time.

And it had some star power with Taker, Sid, Vader, Mankind, Austin, Bret.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 16, 2002 Look at your list of star power...then look at my list. Hogan at Mania? They could make 5 or 6 Main Event level matches at this Mania. WrestleMania 13 had 2.

Guest JerryDrakeAwwwFuckIt Report post Posted February 16, 2002 See i didnt say it might work it out, but is pretty risky, i wouldnt go with it, i think Angle/Jericho might be good since both have personalitys unlike Benoit. But one would have to turn face, which would problay be Angle, Angle as a face could work out, even when the WWF fucked up his face turn he was still pretty over, maybe not as over as RVD, but he was still getting loud pops, and still had crowd heat, with the crowd chanting USA. HHH Vs. Jericho seems good to me, you dont like cus you hate HHH, i hate HHH also, but it still seems good, they had a great match a Fully Loaded IMO, and HHH made Jericho look like a Million Bucks. I hope you guys dont think i mean HHH carried him, but HHH sold like a true champ for Jericho.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 16, 2002 If Jericho/Angle wrestled at WM, there wouldn't have to be a face. One would think Jericho will be the "face" being in Canada. They could do a mini Canada vs. U.S.A. type of deal.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 16, 2002 This isn't even close to the same HHH that wrestled at Fully Loaded (which I agree was a great match). on top of that...HHH isn't over enough to warrant that spot.
Guest JerryDrakeTellsYourMom2ShutUp Report post Posted February 16, 2002 Tony: I dont know if Jericho will be a face, considering half of the crowd will be forgien to canada, i know tons of americans will be in attendence. bps: You never know, he has month to get back in shape. He seems to get over now, he got good face pops on RAW and Smackdown, you never know, i mean Angle got his heat back.
