Guest converge241 Report post Posted June 11, 2002 I didnt like the comic so much..but my god the movie was incredible. Anyone seen it with opinions? Id highly recomend it, Buscemi's performance knocks me out. Thora Birch is no slouch either. The ending bums me out (not really the ending-ending but the last act). The white trash guy is hilarious as well
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted June 11, 2002 This movie really bored me, in all honesty. I read nothing but good reviews about it, and my friend Petone recommended it to me highly...but it was pretty dull. Buscemi's done better.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted June 12, 2002 I also liked the movie alot. Another great performance by Buscemi...as can always be expected from him. But i think everyone in the movie did an excellent job with their role.
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted June 12, 2002 I liked it a lot as well, but it didn't *wow* me as much as others because I had read the comic a couple of years before, so I knew what to expect. What didn't you like about the comic, converge? It's one of my all-time faves.
Guest godthedog Report post Posted June 12, 2002 my favorite movie of 2001 (and in a year with 'memento', 'mulholland drive' and 'waking life' that's saying a LOT). the characters were imperfect and messy, there weren't any easy answers, the ending (i mean the ending ending) was perfect. i think it captured the "i don't know what the fuck i'm going to do with my life and i'm surrounded by idiots" teen angst mentality perfectly. it was something that really spoke to me personally (which very few movies have done, even a lot of my favorite movies), because i was evaluating how i'd changed since high school and trying to make sense of why everything back then happened the way it did. it articulated what i was feeling, and was exactly what i needed to see at the time. Buscemi's done better ohhhhh you wound me. i could see how some people might not like it though. no biggie. but i cant express enough how some of the scenes just make me curse my own screenwriting in comparison to just perfectly crafted stuff. and they are really little things too, they are just done right. im about to go off in another thread about a movie i have to condemn that too many associates of mine are sucking the love pump of. heres a hint it has the words "the" and "mothman" and "prophecies" in the title.
