The Amazing Rando

PROMO - Let Your Conscience Be Your Guide (Or Not)

Recommended Posts

Backstage, and Storm is only a few minutes from going on the air. Alan Clark has left Walter Reynolds at Craft Services, and is heading back toward his dressing room. As he walks through the door he finds two hands grab him by the neck of his shirt and toss him against the wall.

OOMPH!

"You've changed, Clark."

The face of Landon Maddix appears as the man holding Alan against the brickwork, and Alan seems shocked.

"Land...Landon what are you doing?" Maddix finally drops Alan to his feet and backs away, pacing around the locker room.

"You've changed," he repeats, "and don't give me any of this 'wayward value' crap, alright? What were you trying to prove the other night? I saw it. Are you mad at yourself for actually becoming one of my friends? And don't think I don't know how you feel about Stephens, but that is neither here nor there. I went for a long time being spit at and heckled for my actions with Todd Royal. You remember those days, all the shit you gave me day in and day out. Disciple this and Book of Clark that and Wayward whatever, and now look at you. You just can not accept that someone actually cares about Alan Clark anymore."

"He doesn't care." Clark and Landon lock eyes, "He just wanted an easy way into the SWF."

"You don't know what you are talking about. Have you been reading your mail? Every time we hire somebody they give everyone a heads up about them so if we see them in the hall we know who they are. The kid was trained by a former wrestler. A wrestler that worked for this company. You don't think he could have used that to get in here, even just for a trial match?"

"He doesn't care," Alan says it again, this time louder, "I feel like I have Jiminy Cricket running around behind my back and it's disgusting. He's just following me and trying to screw with me."

"Jiminy Cricket, eh? I get it now. You've been running around here and the OAOAST doing whatever you felt was necessary. The stuff with Bruce during the summer, I don't even want to know about everything that happened with the Wildcards before I got there. But now it's like your conscience is right behind you every where you go. You know what, Pinocchio, now that I know the truth -- let's just see how long it takes you to become a real boy. Oh, and have fun with Wildchild tonight. I've heard he was a little sore since last week." and with those words, Landon exits, leaving Alan alone, still standing against the wall where he was thrown moments before, a smirk across his face.

"Pinocchio...pfff, whatever."
