I was reading David Murphy's "In Praise Of" column today on 411 and he brought up the incident in Syracuse in which Michaels apparently was beaten up by "two cheerleaders." Can anyone clarify this for me? I remember reading elsewhere that X-Pac and Davey Boy were also involved.

Thanks.

According to Murphy, it was "two cheerleaders." I hope it was either two marines or two highly-skilled, ultimate fighting "cheerleaders," for Shawn's sake.

they were there at the bar with shawh and were held back when the beating took place.  i've heard that there were between 5-10 marines there too.

What instigated the fight? Was he being a loud-mouthed asshole?

From what I heard, the marines were all up on Waltman and Bulldog about wrestling being fake and shit, and how they could whip their asses. When Shawn arrived at the club, apparently as soon as he stepped out of his car they just mugged his ass. Bulldog and Waltman were held back and they started slamming Shawn's head into the hood of his car and the ground, which is how he got the concussion.

If that's what really happened...wow, that's pretty fu&*ed up. So it was more like several marines, not "two cheerleaders." Thanks for the info. Anyone else?

the story papacita wrote is the one i have heard too.  i'm sure michaels would tell you something different though.

I was just thinking how much different it might have been had someone like Ahmed Johnson or Vader been there for backup. Can you imagine Ahmed Johnson?

Marine: "Hey! I eat fake bitches like you for breakfast! I'll prove it to you!"

Ahmed: "What motherfu&*#$! Man, when I was in prison I used to line up ten or twenty of you motherf&^%@3's for my daily powdered sugar sweet-ass crepe breakfast (Eyes Bulge). In fact, I think I've gots a craving right here!

Marine: "Uhh, sorry Mr. Johnson. It'll never happen again."

Are you calling the Marine weak?

Two questions

When was Ahmed in prison?

Are you caling the Marines weak?  I'm not taking offense for it, but it just seems that way.  I also think anyone in prison would be afraid of Ahmed.

I know, I know. I just find it a little bit frightening that these are the type of men that are being trained for national security. They would rather be brash and overbearing instead of humble about their position. For marines, picking a fight with wrestlers over bragging rights would be about as ludicrous as President Bush calling up Bud Selig and claiming that he could bomb Yankee Stadium if he wanted to. What a masturbatory use of power...

That explains the second quesion.  But was Ahemd really in prison?  I'm starting to assume he was also, by the way you wrote that.

MarioLogan,

The thing with Ahmed was just a joke. I'm not sure if he's ever been in prison (but could you imagine if he was?).

I wasn't calling the marines weak, but I do think it's pretty silly for "5-10" marines to pick a fight with three wrestlers over what essentially would be schoolyard bragging rights. Marines should be tougher, but they shouldn't have to prove it to professional athletes (in any capacity).

That explains everything, thank you.

Now wait a minute.  The story I heard was that Shawn and Bulldog were jumped by like nine Marines while Xpac sat in the car and did nothing.

"Xpac sat in the car and did nothing."

That doesn't suprise me.

Do you guys recall a shoot interview that Keith covered with Bill Watts (from Rfvideo) in which Watts said that he would have fired Bulldog, X-Pac, and Shawn Michaels simply for getting their asses kicked? What a character. Nevermind that there were "like nine marines," what is important to Watts is keeping the illusion alive that two wrestlers are tough enough to take on nine men (let alone nine Marines) in a street brawl. I wonder what Cowboy Bill is doing these days...

Ahmed wasn't in prison (at least I never heard that), but he was a Blood. They had a big article in Raw magazine back in 97 talking about the positives and negatives of street gangs and stuff like that, and said he was a Blood.

This also does not surprise me.

Don't mess with the Pearl River Plunger.

i wouldn't say the marines are weak either.  the ones who jumped michaels and davey were a bunch of bitches though.

Probably true.

The thing that's stuck in my head from reading this thread, is why didn't X-Punk help his friends if they were in trouble?  Nash probably would have done the same thing.  Hunter would have used his intensity to hold down the Marines.  Hall would have gotten lost after taking two steps.

Posted
Hunter would have held Jericho down.

Here's what would happen if it happened today (Thanks for pointing that our Ram):

Jericho would have been forced to join Tommy Dreamer in his new gimmick by HHH

Nash would be even too lazy to look at the Marines.

X-Bitch would have complained if he had to fight the weakest Marine in the group.

Hall would have vomitted on all of them,a d passed out.

The version I heard was that it was only three guys.  One beat the crap out of Shawn, while the other two held Waltman and Smith at bay.  Supposedly, the wrestlers invented the "nine marines" story to keep from getting too embarrassed.

Jingus,

In the version you heard, was Shawn jumped from behind or beaten fairly? Also, did the fight occur in the parking lot? Sorry to ask so many questions, but since there are so many variations on the story, I find it intriguing to sift through each one.

Where did you hear this?

Thanks

I think that Bruce Mitchell said it this way, but I don't remember exactly where.  If I remember correctly, I think that Shawn got the crap beat out of him in the back room of this bar/club, while the others somehow kept X-Pac and Bulldog in the main room.  That's all I remember.

What about the time Bulldog gave his powerslam to some guy in a bar. Was that a different incident?
