Guest swan Report post Posted June 12, 2002 A local radio station was promoting that today you can get O-town tickets for a local show for $9.97. I guess this is a sign that they weren't flying out the doors at nearly $30. The best thing that can happen is that when there new album comes out this summer, it tanks. Then some other boy band releases a new album and it tanks. Then maybe metal will once again rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guest C-Bacon Report post Posted June 12, 2002 i dont think so tim. methinks bubble gum pop/r&b/pop-rock will be on top for a long time
Guest swan Report post Posted June 12, 2002 and bands like the Strokes and White Stripes, Hives become trendy Thw whole lo-fi garage rock sound that is starting to get hot will just be like grunge. It'll be around for a few years, but when it's over only a few will stand and the better bands will never get there day (like the Melvins during the grunge movement) in the sun. What I find funny is how the people that don't think music exists past the radio and whatever music channel they get think that this garage rock sound is soooooo new. Wake up folks its been around since the 60's, you just have no taste.

Guest razazteca Report post Posted June 12, 2002 As long as there are tv shows like American Idol, pop group bands will always pollute the air waves.
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted June 14, 2002 I agree w/ razazteca. Pop will always be on top, the question is whether specific pop bands will be around. Also, don't forget that pop music has a habit of getting worse and worse as time passes. Remember that the "pop music" of the '60s was The Beatles and some of the best R&B groups on both sides of the water. Now, "pop music" is still pretty much boy band stuff and some of the worst R&B groups ever. I shudder to think what could be worse than that...
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted June 14, 2002 Rap has been inching its way towards the pop spotlight for awhile now.
Guest swan Report post Posted June 14, 2002 Saw a revieww of the show in our paper this morning. Only 3000 tickets out of 10000 were sold. Thank god, I would consider that not good.

What kind of man are you letting a female using the CD player in YOUR truck, especially O-town, well i guess i'm a hypocrite here, but my gf has the same taste in music as me.
