Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted June 12, 2002 Merauder...Biohazard...Pro-Pain...and to a lesser extent, Hatebreed... I love metalcore Except for Dillinger Escape Plan. I cannot stand mathcore...at all... If you've never heard of Pro-Pain, I recommend the tracks "Foul Taste Of Freedom," "Make War Not Love," and "Fed Up." Guest Anorak Report post Posted June 13, 2002 I apologise for these stupid questions but i figure you might know for sure. Does the Biohazard singer play an inmate in Oz? I swear thats where i recognise him from. How big a band are Biohazard these days? At one time i thought they were breaking out big, did they ever sell in the 2-3 million range or am i dreaming? Did the band ever have any links to Sick of it All?
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted June 13, 2002 Yes the lead singer of Biohazard is in Oz. You don't like DEP? That makes two of us :-)
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted June 13, 2002 It's an improper term to label Evan Seinfeld as Biohazard's "lead singer" since he and Billy trade off vocals, with Evan doing the raspier/rap-ish vocals and Billy doing the higher-pitch/screaming vocals. Biohazard is popular in the middleground sense. The most popular metalcore band next to Hatebreed, and the most popular TRUE rapcore band still together. I don't think any of their albums have gone Platinum, though... As for ties to Sick Of It All...Unknown. Aside from both being from the NYC hardcore scene, of course. Pro-Pain kicks ass. Always has and always will. Is Merauder still around, they had a couple of good ones. Haven't heard the last couple Biohazard albums. Kind of sad considering how big of a fan I was.

Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted June 14, 2002 Honestly, I haven't heard much Prong outside of the standard "Snap Your Fingers..." that everybody's heard. I've liked their other songs, I just couldn't name any of 'em.
Guest Coffin Surfer Report post Posted June 17, 2002 Sorry but Biohazard and Hatebreed aren't metalcore. They are simply straight up hardcore. Metalcore(or as I prefer to call it: Posthardcore), is much more complex, has longer songs, more melody, than regular Hardcore. Stuff like Converge, Unearth, Cave In, Today is the Day. Guest converge241 Report post Posted June 17, 2002 Stuff like Converge, Unearth, Cave In, Today is the Day hey you dont need to tell me about Converge (name) i dont think you can list Cave In in their current state as of "Jupiter"
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted June 17, 2002 Meh...to me, metalcore is just hardcore with a metal edge, bringing metal and hardcore together. I see Hatebreed categorized by diehard metalheads (we're talking the elitists of the elitists, here) as a metal band, and I see them also called a hardcore band. Therefore, metalcore. And who said you needed to be complex to be metal? Iron Maiden's songs are really fucking simple, and I don't think anybody would doubt they're metal. Iam not saying you have to be complex to be metal. I'am just metalcore is more complex than hardcore. Here's a simple way of looking at it. Thrashmetal+Hardcorepunk=Hardcore Hardcore+Progressive Death Metal and sometimes Black Metal=Metalcore
