Biggest Selling Merchandise Ever?

Recommended Posts

Guest caboose

What do the rest of you guys think was the biggest selling individual piece of merchandise ever?

(VideoGames Don't Count).

For me it was either those 'Austin 3:16' shirts or the 'original nWo' shirts.

Def. the 1st stone cold shirt. Everyone and their mother(and in some cases Grandmothers) had one.

Yeah, Austin 3:16.  Nothing has ever come close.  The reason that shirt sold so well was because that was Austin's only shirt for a pretty long time.  Now all the wrestlers get a new shirt every few months.

There would always be guys outside of the arenas selling bootleg versions of them as well. That was for sure the biggest shirt of all time.

Either the orginal SCSA shirt or Rock's first shirt(as a face), whatever that was.

Rock as a face was NOTHING to what Austin was. Rock is more media friendly but Austin was over more with the fans.

original austin 3:16 has to be the tops

it might be close if you took all Austin 3:16 (the white, the red and the updated version)

against all NWO

(original, wolfpac, half and half) a lot of wolfpac shirts were sold to people who already had the original.

what about worst selling mass-produced merchandise?

I would say "NWO Nitro" shirts

or "New Blood"

or the WWF "WCW" shirts

The 'Just Bring It' shirts were pretty big, but in comparison to the 'Austin 3:16' shirts, they were absoloutely nothing.

Honestly, it had to be the Hogan "Hulkamania" shirt. They sold that thing for a good 8 years without much of a design change which indicates to me it was a good seller that whole time. Wrestlers usually get a redone shirt after it runs its course, but Hogan's never did.

i don't think it was a particular hogan item either.  remember the question was about best selling piece of merchandise.

it has to be austin 3:16 because those shirts were seen everywhere, and not just wrestling arenas from 97 until 2000.

i would say the nWo shirts would have to be listed up there to as well as the EC f'n W shirts which were very popular for years.

l cherish my EC F'N W shirt. I will never get rid of that shirt. The newer greenish one is better than the other one IMO but i have both.

i have wanted one of those for years.  unfortunatly there isn't a store within a 10 hours drive that might even considering carrying one.   i would have probably had to go down to the us to get one when they were still available.
