The Brackets are announced on Smackdown during the second hour.  I watch the Smackdown satellite feed because I dont get UPN and I like to be cool and all watching it at from midnight to 2 am in the morning on Thursdays.

Maybe I'm being a bit naive, but I think the main reason that superkick was heatless because it was like a silencer. I mean when I saw it I thought HOLY SHIT, but it was so out of nowhere, I couldn't say anything.

I personally thought it was great, and being in the crowd I'd have been just as quiet because I didn't see it coming.  If a heel does something out of no where your'e probably not going to just jump right up and boo the guy, but react like most, and just kind of be in shock.

That's all fine in good, but the question then is, what were they trying to do with the segment?

1.  Get HBK / nWo over as heels, or

2.  Get Booker T over as a face.

If it's the former, than bravo.

If it's the latter, than to paraphrase my ECW brethren, "THEY FUCKED UP!"

It can't be both, since it didn't accomplish both (IMO)...at least not in a good way.  If the goal was to get the nWo & Michaels over (BIG SHOCKER, Michaels putting himself over), than hey, it worked.  Everyone's talking about Michaels.

But no one's talking about Booker T.  Why?  Because with that one kick, he became their bitch.  They punked him out.  How does that put him over as a face?  IT DOESN'T.  It just sets him up as a face who will most likely be feuding with them in the future.  But it didn't put him over ONE BIT.  If he had made a comeback, maybe later in the night tried to break into their locker room to kick their ass, something like that, *something* to get his heat back, maybe.....

But all it did was give MICHAELS heat, leeched away from Booker.  And, dare I say it, Booker needs the heat more than that other assh....I mean, Michaels.

Giving Booker the BookEnd back could be seen as a Heel move as it's Rocky's move.

I don't know why they never let him use the move. I thought it was the easiest decision they would ever have to make, but they hardly let him use the move. Sometimes I wonder about the WWF. Triple H's "elevation" of Test and Storm really amounted to dick because right after he let them go over (with generous interference), he was named the number one contender for the title in a battle royal. I can see Booker T being "elevated" in a similar matter if he is allowed to go over at all. Just imagine how much better things would have been if they would have made Booker T a viable heel by allowing him to go over the Rock at Summerslam.

I can't really see Booker T's age being a big deal. I would rather have someone who is Booker's age who isn't overexposed than a guy like X-Pac who is somewhat young but overexposed. The key thing with Booker T is the fact that he isn't overexposed. Booker T has stated that he wants to wrestle for maybe 2 or 3 more years, so I don't where a problem would lie with Booker getting a run at the top. Angle is main-eventing Smackdown right now and he wants to leave for the Olympics. The Rock is looking like he wants to leave wrestling for Hollywood, but I bet you McMahon will try to stop the world when he comes back.

"actually i could pull out torches from before russo ever left wwf where the compariosn would come up.

granted the bookend didnt help

he was dressing in nice clothes way before that btw"

Yeah, but more often than not those nice clothes were business suits and such. He only started wearing the ridiculously overblown Rock-style "1000$ shirts" stuff during the Russo era.

That's because Russo acted like he had something to prove to the WWF. He seemed to always say, "I made the WWF's success. All of my ideas made the WWF popular and I can do it again in WCW with different guys."
