over the years there was wrestlers slap on convincing submission holds that look painful, while others do something like a Full nelson that anyone who ever watched Self defense class would know how to get out of...

Name the top ten submissions and who performed them convincingly

1)Figure Four Ric Flair

Sharing the top spot with

Crippler crossface Chris Benoit

2)Sharpshooter Bret Hart

3)Kajahijime Taz  just something so violently simplistic half nelson judo choke with body scissors to take the guy down.

4) Inverted Surfboard/Dragon Sleeper lock Pretty much any Japanese wrestler in the Super J Cup tournaments  in a word... DAMN

5)Dragon Sleeper Ultimo Dragon

6)Ankle Lock Shamrock/Angle  I know this should be up higher...One of the most convincing time he applied it was when he did it to Scotty and Simulated SNAPPING his leg, just so Scotty would be able to take the time out

7)Elevated Crab Chris Jericho

8) STF again another move nearly every Japanese wrestler done at one point or another.

9} Mandible Claw Mic Foley.. Ok maybe not painful persay but you'd tap out just to get someones Fingers out of your throat before you puked.

10)Crossface Chickenwing Backlund, Norman Smiley

Nothing like a Taker Mark to talk about technical wrestling..

1) Bret Hart's Sharpshooter, that move is NASTY

2) Figure Four Leg-Lock by Ric Flair, that one is also just plain mean

3) Ultimo Dragon's Dragon Sleeper, i always thought it looked awesome

4) Mexican Surfboard, now *THAT* looks freakin' painful

5) Boston Crab, elementary ,but one bad ass move, sucks all the air out of you

6) STF when its applied by a *REAL* wrestler, like Eddy Guerrerro ( thats a lot of r's )

7) Crippler Crossface, Not as good as others, everyone in here creams themselves when they hear about it though..

8) Y2J's WCW ( underline that, WCW ) Liontamer where he would sit ALL the way down, back THEN it looked good

9) Texas Cloverleaf was pretty awesome

10) Taker doing the turnbuckle 'raise the lights' taunt...hey, i bet it made some of the bastards scream like a bitch

This has been the Taker Mark

I always thought that move was stupid. The guy could just kick the guy with his other foot.

My list:

1)Bret/Owen Hart's Sharpshooter

2)Tazmission

3)Jericho's Liontamer

4)Crippler Crossface

5)I don't know the name of it, but this move I saw Val Venis do, a type of figure four.

6)Flair's Figure Four

7)Texas CloverLeaf

8)Million Dollar Dream

9)Mandible Claw

10)Camel Clutch

"Inverted Surfboard/Dragon Sleeper lock Pretty much any Japanese wrestler in the Super J Cup tournaments  in a word... DAMN"

Damn you, do you not recognise the fact that that is Lyger's move?! Foolish non-puro people... grr to you all!

I might also add some of Dos Caras' little submission moves to the list, let's find some of them here... elevated stump puller... ground octopus hold with added hammerlock... elevated inverse butterfly lock with scorpion deathlock... there is more, but these are just the ones I can remember. I love Dos Caras. I love puroresu.

10)Crippler Crossface (Benoit)

09)Tazzmission (Tazz)

08)Goodnight Irene (Jimmy Valiant)

07)Abdominal Stretch (Bruiser Brody)

06)Oriental Spike (Killer Khan)

05)Liontamer (Chris Jericho)

04)Clawhold (David Von Erich)

03)Million Dollar Dream (Ted Dibiase)

02)Sharpshooter (Brett Hart)

01)Figure Four Leglock (Ric Flair)

I chose the abdominal stretch because when Brody would apply it, it looked like it literally hurt like hell.  Goodnight Irene is probably the best sleeper hold ive seen, Liontamer means WCW and the claw was used by many people but when DVE used it he had a look like he actually enjoyed squeezing the blood out of the guys cranium!
