Strike one.

This goes in the general talk forum.

But since you're new we can forgive that.

Let's see what kind of a smark you are by having a little test:

1.  Is the nWo coming back a good thing, or a bad thing?

2.  Is HHH holding RVD down, because he is more over than HHH?

3.  Are spot fests good matches?

4.  Puro or WWF?

5.  What would you use to Main Event WrestleMania this year?

6.  Micheal Cole is kinda good...right?

There...that should tell us everything that we need to know.

4.  Puro or WWF? - Puro

5.  What would you use to Main Event WrestleMania this year? - Chris Jericho vs. RVD vs. HHH vs. Austin

You got the cole question right so rock on!

Unfortunately, Mania doesn't need a four way main after the clusterf*** of a main at WM2000.

1.  Yes and No answers are never the correct answers.  They do little to stimulate discussion on a messageboard.

You did alright though...let's take a look at the answer key:

1.  Is the nWo coming back a good thing, or a bad thing? - From a wrestling standpoint...they suck.  From a business standpoint they could do some good...but like everything else, the WWF will fuck it up.

2.  Is HHH holding RVD down, because he is more over than HHH? - Well...the evidence is almost too much to be taken as a coincedince...

hmmmm.....

3.  Are spot fests good matches? -  That really depends on how you define "match"  Personally I don't think there is any psychology, or any one of another good "smark" words to be considered as such.

4.  Puro or WWF? -   This discussion does not belong in the WWF folder.  You almost fooled me.

5.  What would you use to Main Event WrestleMania this year? -  Anything but HHH, at this point he moves like the Big Show on speed.

6.  Micheal Cole is kinda good...right? - If by kinda good you mean the Antichrist...then yes.  I am buying what you are selling.

Sidenote- finally out of trainee. Yes! Ah shit, it's only OVW.

BPS- what do you mean there is no psychology? Before we start this discussion, I want you to explain that comment.

I was just repeating what other people say.

I think that Foley/UT HIAC had psychology.

But I'm not too sure about the TLC matches.

Ok, I thought you were saying matches in general don't have psychology. That would be wrong.

As for HIAC, I have to agree with Sk. It was random spots used to pop the crowd and hide UT's injuries. watch the first Hell In a Cell. It told a story and knowing the animosity helped add to the excitement. UT dismantles Shawn cos he cost him his title. Shawn finds a way to keep getting an edge. UT won't be stopped until baby brother comes out. There was no current backstory with Foley-UT to give the match weight. There last feud was over a year prior to the match.

The only time the guys in the TLC matches sell is when they legitamently hurt themselves, whether it hurts for a minute or for the rest of the match.

If they try and throw psychology into it, it's forgotten two minutes later when they guy who just got his knee cracked against the ringpost is climbing a ladder perfectly fine.

Ladder matches should have psychology.  Hardcore matches shouldn't.  Regular matches should have psychology.  Crazy, La Parka Lucha Libre Six Man Tags shouldn't.

You're right. ladder matches SHOULD have psychology. But so should hardcore matches and lucha matches. It comes down to attacking the right bodypart, selling said bodypart and building to the finish of the match within the context of the previous spots. Any match can and should have psychology incorporated.

i agree about the tlc matches, but i dont really think that foley-taker had too much psychology.  the only real story i saw in the match was foley take a huge bump, then taker looks menacing for 5 mins, leading into foley taking another huge bump.  this would then lead into taker looking menacing again, allowing foley to take another huge bump.  then, the finish involved foley taking 2 bumps on thumbtacks.  i didnt see too much psycholody there, and i enjoyed the HBK/taker HIAC much more though, foley/taker was just a spotfest.

Well go piss off somewhere else. You don't have to read my posts. I think a mod should ban you before you start a flame war on this board.

There may not have been as much psychology in Foley/UT HITC as there is in some other matches, and yes, there were lots of crazyass spots, but I don't think that it was a spotfest without any psychology at all...in all honesty, when I first saw the match, I thought it was ok, I didnt call it "Match Of Infinity" like some people did...but after reading Foley's first book, and the pages and pages he dedicated to describing what exactly he felt about the match, I have changed my mind and think that the match was one of the best I've seen...especially seing as UT was wrestling on one leg, and was able to lead Foley through a bunch of the match. Suffice to say, there's more non traditional psychology than the traditional "i put a figure four on you, so you limp around" psychology.

It wasn't too bad.  At least Mick Foley got to main event a Wrestlemania before he retired so I was happy with the match.

I really never understood why they brought Foley back if he wasn't going to win the WWF Title. He could tell he had ring rust. Especially when he missed the table during the flying elbow from the second rope to the outside.

I bet Vince and Co. knew that Foley was done and what better way to have a farewell match then in the main event at Wrestlemania.  He didn't need to win the title but should have been in the final two with HHH.
