Get these, $30 General admission mid/upper level - north and south stands. Or the 60 dollar ones.

Don't pay more, because there is a chance, albeit slight, that they could move you closer.

I wouldn't want to hang around the Coliseum for more than an hour. It's in South Central.

Sez the Albertan Gangsta.

In MMA-related news, Brock has passed the CSAC medical and has been cleared to fight. Still no word on Saku, though with his brain being the quivering mass of damaged nerves it is I can't see him getting cleared.

It looks like Brock has spent the past year eating doritos..

It's what happens to a body when it has to pass drugs test.

BROCK LESNAR MMA DEBUT IN JEOPARDY ACCORDING TO REPORT

by Mike Johnson @

For those of you looking forward to seeing former WWE champion Brock Lesnar make his MMA debut on 6/2, The Fight Network's website is reporting that the K-1 Dynamite USA PPV event, which is scheduled for Los Angeles has several obstacles to cross if it is to take place as advertised and scheduled. With 10 days left to weigh-ins, Lesnar is actually the only fighter cleared to compete by the California State Athletic Commission. Promoters Fight Entertainment Group (FEG) have yet to be granted a license or put up a bond guaranteeing the fighters' purses. The CASC claims it has yet to receive even preliminary paperwork for 19 of the 22 fighters scheduled for the fight. Showtime's Pro Elite group, which is scheduled to take part in the combined fight card, has clearance for three undercard bouts it will hold on the show, but the Commission has ruled that FEG needs a separate license for their fights. You can read more about the developing situation at this link. The show is slated for a live PPV from the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Amazing what clean living will do for you.

And if you cut out alot of weight training and high protien diet needed to maintain that body builders frame he had before. not saying he was clean but it wasn't like they guy wasn't hitting the weight room everyday. Now its more flexibility, cardio, and training for real fighting...not just looking huge.

This show is going to bomb hard. I'll be stunned if more than 10,000 show up, if the show comes off at all. I haven't heard or seen anything promoting this since it was announced. No radio ads, tv ads, just nothing.

And the stupidity of putting this on PPV is absolutely mindboggling.

A quick news note regarding the Los Angeles Coliseum show. Brock Lesnar's opponent has been picked, chosen and approved as Kim Min-soo, the judoka we reported on earlier this morning. Min-soo will be in Los Angeles on Tuesday to go through all his medicals. As noted earlier, the show is on and will be ten fights. Ray Sefo vs. Marvin Eastman is off the card due to problems with Sefo. A new opponent will not be added for Eastman.

--Kazushi Sakuraba is officially licensed after undergoing thorough heart and brain exams and a complete physical for his match with Royce Gracie on Saturday night at the Los Angeles Coliseum. This answers the questions regarding his physical competence to fight after the Kestutis Smirnovas match last year and his other beatings. At this moment, and nobody has talked about it due to all the drama regarding Sakuraba, Gracie is not yet licensed as he hasn't turned in a lot of the necessary information. The commission has said there will be an update on the card at about 8 p.m. tonight Pacific time. As of this moment there is the potential for several people to be pulled for various reasons and potential replacements are being talked about. At this moment it will still be a ten-match card, with the two dark matches, three Showtime matches and five live PPV matches.

The shambles continues. At this rate, the only intriguing fight of the night, Sakuraba/Gracie, might not even happen.

This show is so fucking fun to watch collapse.

I mean...this has been a constant source of amusement for me. I had no interest in the show to begin with outside of Brock, and to read about all these issues...Hilarious in it's own way.

This is an update on the Saturday night Los Angeles Coliseum show:

Dark matches

Hideo Tokoro vs. Brad Pickett

J.Z. Calvan vs. Nam Phan (this match will be taped before the show and will possibly air second via tape during the Showtime hour)

Showtime live

Jake Shields vs. Ido Pariente

Jonathan Wiezorek vs. Tim Persey (replacing Antonio Silva)

PPV

Melvin Manhoef vs. Yoon Doon Sik

Mighty Mo vs. Ruben Villareal (relacing Choi Mu Bae)

Royce Gracie vs. Kazushi Sakuraba (match is now official as Gracie completed all licensing requirements)

Brock Lensar vs. Kim Min-soo

Notes:

Katsuhiko Nagata vs. Gabe Ruediger is off the card as Ruediger had a problem getting licensed

Johnnie Morton vs. Bernard Ackah is 50/50. Ackah has not been licensed. If he doesn't get licensed by 1 p.m. Friday Morton will not be fighting on the show

No word at this moment as to what the problems with Ruediger, Silva, Ackah and Mu Bae were.

More Gabe fun:

--We're still not clear on exact reasons the various fighters were dropped from the Los Angeles Coliseum show, but most were likely to have been some form of failure to get medical clearance. Gabe Ruediger was dropped from the show for reasons having to do with mental stability stemming from his behavior a few months ago on Ultimate Fighter.
