Rock Band!

Recommended Posts

I believe you need to have all the people in the same location in order to play the World Tour mode. Therefore doing a TSM band wouldn't have a whole lot of purpose, unless you know the same people are always going to be around at certain times and they just like playing together.

Google searching "Online Band World Tour" brings up results such as "Why there is none." Lovely. Ah well.

There's a downloadable content deal going for May. Two songs a week for 80MSP/$0.99 apiece.

http://www.mtv.com/asm/rockdollarmenu/rockband_home.jhtml

I got "Crushcrushcrush" and "Shockwave". (And "Saints of Los Angeles", which is still a buck.) The first week's songs may still be at the cheaper price. "Rock and Roll Band" is showing as 80MSP for me.

Got to play the game finally last night. LOVED IT.

But can't afford it or have the space for it. Lame.

welp, anyone who's off from work or school and wants to hit up some Rock Band, I'll be playing. Can either do some of the tug of war or try to figure out how to get this TSM band off the ground.

If I'm not Live, just leave a message in this thread (like the Bat Signal) and I'll jump on Live.

Some significant Rock Band news over the past few days:

First, the 60-day, receipt-needed hardware warranty that was instated a few weeks ago has been revised to once again allow no-receipt RMAs until October 1st.

http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58623

Second, Rock Band 2 was officially announced. Biggest confirmed news is full cross-game compatability for downloadable songs; Xbox 360 exclusivity for a September release, with other platforms later this year; and it's being revealed at E3 in 2 weeks.

Third, a 12-song Best Of collection by The Who is being released on July 15th.

“Amazing Journey”

“Baba O'Riley”

“Behind Blue Eyes”

“Eminence Front”

“Going Mobile”

“Leaving Here”

“My Generation” (LIVE)

“Real Good Looking Boy”

“Sea & Sand”

“Summertime Blues” (LIVE)

“Who Are You”

“Young Man Blues” (LIVE)

Edit: Also, Doolittle is available as of last week. And there's a free song available on Tuesday. "Promised Land" by Vesuvius, which is a fictional band from the new movie The Rocker.

How dare you! What can't be good about singing this song and imagining Monty Brown jumping out of the screen and pouncing you throw the fucking wall! Obviously, the likely hood of that happening is very slim, maybe even as slim as Newcastle United winning the Premier League next year... or this decade. O WAA-A-A-AAGH!

Urgh, I hate Disturbed.

Don't worry bout Newcastle though, I'm sure they'll win something worthwhile. When was the last time again? :P

Not only that track list, but all RB1 songs, downloadable AND on the disc, can be ported over if you want. Also, MTV wanted a hundred songs in the game, but couldn't fit them all on the disc. So, sometime soon after release, they're going to release 20 MORE songs for free download. No word on what those are though. All in all, you could have an epic track list out of the box.

Which is pretty stupid. As everyone knows, all their good stuff was on the first album.

I just wrapped my head around exactly how many songs are going to be available by the time Rock Band 2 ships. *Blows mind*

I built up a pretty nice collection of Rock Band tracks since I got it...and I'm glad those will be playable in RB2. Add to that the entire RB1 track list from the disc itself...and then this new tracklist for 2. ...and the 20 free songs that are coming at launch. ...and continued DLC for 1 until release...and then 2 after...

My goodness. There is a metric TON of songs to play.

It's not the entire RB1 disc soundtrack that can be ripped. I believe the word Alex Rigopulos used at the Microsoft conference was "most". Probably some licensing issues with a handful of the songs. He also said that by the end of this year, there will be 500 Rock Band songs available.
