Well, we've always wondered what WWE would do...

Yes, I've heard many of us here and on other places on the net talk about what IF the WWE woke up one monrning, and found themselves without EITHER of their #1 guys on the active wrestler list. So, now it is happening, not that Rocky is off in Hollywood and Austin is no longer an "active" wrestler. So, where do you think WWE will go from here?

Sure, I HOPE that they finally push some new guys to the top and KEEP them there. I do not however want them to just "out of nowhere" but a guy like Brock and the such in the Main Event. He's a new guy, and should be further groomed to be in such a posistion. Same goes for anyone who isn't really in the ME right now, I don't want to see ANYONE just thrown in that posistion. I do believe that WWE will once again start throwing some money around. Hmmm, could the timing for Goldberg to come in and join the once again Ric Flair be any better than it is right now? I sure don't think so, and I'm certain that someone is thinking about this seriously at the moment...

...if that was the case, wouldn't it be ironic that the very guy that WWE brings in to "replace" Austin would be the one guy that many people claim as a copy of Austin (I don't think that, but I know many do and have for years)?

I would say Steiner, but he is tied up as recently reported untill at least mid-late June, soooooooooo, that could happen, but not for a while now. So, what do you guys think WWE will do now? Here is a tidbit reported by 1wrestling earlier today, and I'm SURE you all will love one part of this, lol...

The word making the rounds, shockingly enough, is that the Undertaker and HHH are more than ready and willing to fill the void left by both Austin and the Rock not being around.  The plus side of this, as long as it's not a work, is that there are now opportunities available to younger guys and WWE is in a position to push them.  Since they have slid recently, now is the time to rebuild.  Now, they have their chance.

...hmmm, do you think Taker and HHH are the two guys to take the big two's place? Oh well, I guess that's what we are getting if we like it or not. Anyhow, I just don't want them to just throw new guys in the ME out of nowhere who have never been there before, that's my only real issue. I guess guys like Jericho, Booker T, Benoit, Angle, etc... could also be promoted a bit more. Hell, maybe they'll have HBK go one more round for a short time untill they can sign a Goldberg or a Scott Steiner.

Sincerely,

...Downhome...

bringing in more 40 year olds is not the answer. RVD has been wrestling for at least 6 years as far as i know so he is certainly "ready".

booker t is a 10 year plus veteran and certainly has the charisma to take a top spot.

benoit is GOD so he is "ready"

The wwe has the talent to thrust anyone they choose in the main event slot but they need to do it now while guys like hhh and taker can give them the "rub. if not they will end up like wcw.

out with the old dammit!!!

Damn, please forgive me for forgetting to mention RVD in my list, I feel like a fool now, :-( Speaking of RVD...

...I wonder how he feels, when he gets HUGE ovations, and yet WWE still doesn't push him more than they have so far. Or hell, I wonder how Jericho feels when he gets so much heat, and yet, he's fighting Farooq or Mark Henry. I know it can't make them feel TOO good. Unless they just like knowing that they can be so damn over and not even get pushed that much or be in the Main Event. They get less exposure than the major guys, and they are more over most of the time, ok, so maybe they DO like that fact.

I laughed when I read UT and HHH are anxious to fill the spots of Rock and Austin.  They are in for a rude awakening here.  UT has always been an upper card type guy, but he's never been THE MAN I would pay to see, and that was when he was in his prime.  HHH has fizzled as a face and was never a draw in and of himself....he was a draw due to wrestling Foley, the Rock, and Austin.  Shit, anyone would have been over fighting the Rock and Austin and constantly being booked to win, or from retiring Foley.  Now with an old UT I am afraid HHH's true drawing power will be revealed.

Hell, if anything UT and HHH would be the guys who should be jobbed out to the likes of RVD, Edge, and Brock.

I agree completely. To go from Austin/Rock as the top two guys to Taker/Triple H as the top two guys is a HUGE drop in pretty much every category.

I didn't read the article at 1wrestling.com, but I'm guessing they didn't say anything about Triple H and Taker looking forward to helping elevate new wrestlers to rebuild the company with Austin/Rock gone. They're just looking forward to hogging the top spots and burying all legitimate threats to those spots. How is that news though? It's been going on for some time now.

I don't think the WWE has come close to hitting bottom yet and they have no one to blame but themselves. Vince should have been preparing for the day Rock would leave or Austin would go home two years ago when the product was on fire. But he decided to coast and sacrifice the future to keep the status quo. Sound familiar?

How much different would the WWF's current situation be if Jericho had beat Triple H in the LMS match? Or if Benoit had not been pinned by Triple H in his very first match in the WWF and been played up as an unbeaten champ? Or if Angle ended up stealing Stephanie from Triple H in the storyline? What if Vince had listened to the fans instead of Taker when it came to RVD? Or had portrayed Booker T as being on the same level as Rock and Austin when he came in instead of as some idiot from the ghetto?

Let's see....RVD started in 1990, got to the USWA in 91, a short stint in WCW circa 92/93, worked indies and Japan for years, then ECW from 1996 to 2001.  He has wrestled longer than HHH or the Rock, and nearly as long as Austin (albeit on a lower profile).  It is amusing that X Pac is considered a veteran in the locker room while RVD is a newcomer, since they both started the same year.

HHH has been incredibly selfish in terms of the way he is booked, and it has finally come back to bite him in the ass.  His angles have been so sabotaged in order to protect him that the company has been hurt.

why does it seem that everyone thinks triple h is old?  if i remember correctly he's 33, which is younger than benoit and booker t.  if undertaker takes this 'filling in the gap' thing seriously, he's going to start stepping it up in the ring and getting hurt.  and trips...well, he's hurt all the time.
