No Sound issue I'm having with my Browsers

I've been having this sound issue on both Firefox and IE where streaming videos(You Tube, Daily Motion, etc.) don't play sound. However, anything saved to my hard drive has sound. Do I need to upgrade anything?

yes sir i do. This is such a weird occurrence, because the sound worked just fine a few weeks ago. Then it suddenly stopped.

i was looking for my volume control icon in the toolbar and it's gone. so i have no clue how to check for the wav volume now.

Look in the control panel, I think. I don't have a PC so that's from memory.
