Scroby 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2007 Here are the results for CCW's show last night. It was a great, fun show that had a nice big crowd...and hey I got to Ref the main event! I copied and pasted these results from a CCW rep. Even torrents of driving rain couldn't deterr a standing room only crowd of 265 in the FDES Hall in Newman from enjoying another spectacular night of wrestling! First, JJ started to tell the fans about the upcoming matches when he was rudely interrupted by Buddy Sotello Esq. as he made yet another announcement to the fans regarding a change in the makeup of the Syndicate. In response to Malachi not being able to make it out from Reno, Buddy had arranged to pick up the contract of a new wrestler for the syndicate. As Chupacabra's music played, out came a man dressed in Chupy's outfit but not Chupy-- but instead out came Ryan "The California Crippler" Drago and came into the ring as Buddy's new charge. After taunting the "Newman Inhumans", Buddy and Ryan were taken aback by Big Ugly coming to ringside and challenging them to a match later that evening. The card started out with the return of British Messiah Timothy Thatcher and Sir William on their triumphant tour of the United Kingdom against the living anime character known as Super Otaku. Colorful antics aside, Thatcher proved that his skill and expertise gained from his travels in the "mother country" showed in the ring as he was easily able to dispatch with Otaku, rebuilding on the winning streak he had before losing to Big Ugly earlier in 2007. The next match featured the elite of the eighteen wheeler set, Mother Truckin Otis vs the streetwise worker Kenny K. Kenny K obviously lacked the size and power of Otis but tried to make up for it with speed and agility...But it was no use as the lithe breakdancer couldn't defeat the sheer girth and strength of MTO...And he became yet another victim of the "Gotter Dun"! After the match a surprise visit by Sir William to offer the jovial highway traveller a cup of tea-- but Otis, being a creature of habit, decided to freshen up the Brit's drink with a little shot from his trusted wisky flask-- which irked the ire of Thatcher who took that as a personal insult to the national drink of his beloved homeland. Like a man possesed, Thatcher belabored Otis about, both inside the ring and out, leaving the mother trucker like a semi-trailer that has been jacknifed on the highway... The next match featured the exciting debut of the 80's Express (Bubba Blanchard & Wage Richon) vs the Twin Tag Team Terrors known as the Bad Apples. Blanchard & Richon definitely reminded fans of an earlier era where teams like the Freebirds ruled the earth (in fact, their entrance song, "Freebird" by Lyryd Skyryd is in tribute to that very same southern tag team). Blanchard came in with a bizzarre looking veil, while Richon looked impressive with a makeup job reminiscent of Road Warrior Animal. The skillful coordination of the BadApples was impressive as usual, and the fans were solidly behind the talented twin team. However Richon's raw power combined with the ring savvy of Blanchard was too much for even the BadApples to overcome. But perhaps there was something on the mind of the BadApples that was distracting their attention to the match at hand...And the fans would find out exactly what that would be later that evening... The next match featured the long standing feud between Showtime Shane Dynasty and the Sotello Syndicate coming to a head when the 6-5 monster Luster the Legend faced the man who hails "from his own personal hell". Even the ring couldn't contain the fury of these two hard core combatants. Buddy, as usual, worked his way around ringside to steal the "Dead Fed" championship belt (a symbol of all the no-longer existing Nor Cal federations that Mr. Dynasty himself has outlived) and while distracting Ref Guido, Buddy thrust the belt into the ring in order to have Luster pile drive Shane onto the belt. However, before Buddy could direct Guido to look back into the ring, a bloodied Adam Thornstowe came from the back with a chair and absolutely nailed Luster square on the forehead with it! Even Luster couldn't withstand that sort of punishment and was placed beneath an already-bleeding Shane. Ref Guido then turned around and noticed that Shane was pinning Luster and after shoving Buddy off of the apron, counted 3 and Shane was the winner! Needless to say, Buddy was furious like he always gets when he loses! He shouted at Luster saying that he had enough of his losing ways and that he was fired--which Luster did not take too lightly- And he was in the process of getting ready to clobber Sotello when in ran Ryan Drago, his new hire. Drago and Luster mixed it up in the ring, and in came the BadApples-- whom everyone expected to clear the ring. Instead, the twin terrors sided with Ryan and Buddy and put a serious beat down on Luster! Fortunately Adam and Shane came back to ringside quickly to stop the new Syndicate, which now features Ryan "the California Crippler" Drago and DD & Trent, the BadApples. He even informed Adam that it was not Luster who attacked him in the back but it was indeed the BadApples who attacked Adam from behind as one of their first tasks as new members of the Syndicate! Shane grabbed the mic and informed the Syndicate that another group is formed now to take on Buddy's minions-- the guys from Reno-- Luster, Malachi, Shane and Adam-- are now known as SCUM! After a brief intermission, Buddy again came to ringside, this time with the California Crippler against Big Ugly. Obviosly, Big Ugly had all the fans on his side, but his weakened knee that was scoped last month was an easy target for the well-prepared Drago. The Crippler tried every move in the book including Indian Death Locks, Spinning Toe Holds, Elbow Drops to the knee and everything else he could think of-- but Big Ugly was able to surprise both Buddy and Drago with a small package rollup for the quick 3 count! Of course Buddy and Drago took this loss with the obvious bad sportsmanship that they are known for, and Drago continued his mean streak by attacking Ugly's knee after the match leaving Big Ugly writhing in pain and leaving to a stream of boos from the fans! The main event featured a power-packed tag team special attraction between the two champions of CCW, Virgil Flynn & Vinnie Massaro against the living video game R-Cayde and Rik Luxury... For those of you who missed the match, it is almost impossible to describe everything that happened in words-- this was one of those matches that had to be seen to fully grasp the amazing amount of talent that was contained within the confines of the FDES Hall in Newman last night. Observers called some of the 4-man tornado action in the ring akin to a "moving human sculpture of pain". However the clever and diabolical antics of R-Cayde would give his team the edge, as he used a bag of talcum powder as an attempt to cheat and blind his opponents. Referee Toby found the bag but it was cleverly labeled "Virgil's Cheatin' Powder" and Toby had no choice since there was no other proof as to whose powder it was, to disqualify both Vinnie and Virgil, much to the dismay of the fans! As a result, Vinnie and Virgil on the next show, May 12th in Newman, CA, will have to fight in special stipulation matches of their opponent's choosing! Will this be the end of both champions' title reign? The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2007 There's a cheating tactic Edge needs to steal. Or Christian, given that DQs mean title changes in TNA. (you know, if he was wrestling for a title)
