KingPK 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2007 Why the FUCK did Perlozzo pull Guthrie? He got a pop-up to the CATCHER who dropped it and then for some reason, Guthrie gets pulled and the bullpen just IMPLODES again. Fucking stupid decision of stupid decisions. Guthrie was FINE, absolutely FINE. Wasn't tired, wasn't having problems with his control, wasn't getting hit hard and you pull him two outs away from a shut-out in the ninth. Stupid crap. In fairness, how often does that move blow up like that? Still, it was a complete panic move. I turned the game off when it was 5-0 in the 7th to play some God of War and tuned back to see the postgame show with "Sox score 6 in 9th to win 6-5" on the bottom of the screen. I'm still fucking pissed that I missed it.

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2007 Guthrie has really impressed me today, if he pitches like he has today consitently hes a nice fill in for Jaret Wright. Id like to see him go back out there in the 7th but Perlozzo will go to the bullpen..and odds are they'll blow it..because the pen has been over worked.. No more obvious words have I spoken on here. I dont even feel like discussing it because even I didnt think it coulda been blown like it was yesterday. The Os bullpen flat out blows because they've been overworked so much so early..proof? Relief Appearances: Bradford - 21 (leads the AL) Baez,Parrish,Walker,Ray - 19 Williams 6 Williamson 6 The whole bullpen is in the top 5 for appearances save for Todd Williams and Scott Williamson who have both been hurt, and its only 38 games into the season. It (bullpen getting overused because either the starters couldnt even go 5 innings or Perlozzo couldnt go with a starter) happened last year..its happening again.. I wouldnt have faith with them up 14 runs 2 outs bottom of the 9th nobody on playing the royals..although the Orioles actually scoring 14 runs would probably cause me a massive heart attack or something.. and all of Baltimore is calling for Perlozzo's head on a pole for pulling Guthrie, as its been stated that it was his sole decision and Guthrie wanted to stay in and felt fine to pitch.
