Ninja Warrior

Recommended Posts

I'm gonna get this away from the video game area since it's not really a video game, but an awesome fucking show either way. My 2nd favorite behind Attack of the Show!. How could you not love this stuff? It's amazing how dedicated some people are to this obstacle course that has only been cleared twice in about twenty attempts. And people from all walks of life try it and get killed by it. It doesn't have a lot of crazy bumps like MXC, but it's got it's share. And some of the obstacles just look.... good god. The Cliff Hanger and Curtain Cling have just got to be brutal.

Women of Ninja Warrior has been entertaining as well. Domino Hill is the shit.

I like how they have tried to make it harder and harder for the woman who keeps dominating the course. It's like watching someone trying to Tiger proof a golf course but still failing miserably. I forget her name but she looks like someone who needs to be in a movie ripping someones liver out with her bare hands. And Rie Komiya is awesome, too bad she'll probably never win the thing.

Porn stars, gymnasts, wrestlers, sumos, acrobats, mothers, barely teen daughters, schoolgirls and everything else on the planet you can name all competing for one prize. FEMALE NINJA WARRIOR!

Also the Curtain Cling doesn't impress me much at all. Now the Cliffhanger, sweet GOD that is a messed up obstacle.

Makoto Nagano is the most athletic man alive. When he gets eliminated it's a shock to everyone. I've still got the episode where he beats the whole course and it's sick how easy he makes it look. I mean, you've got Olympic athletes all over the place (including Paul Terek, who looks like a GIANT compared to everyone else) and they're gritting their way through the Body Prop, Spider Climb, and Cliffhanger, then he goes out there and beats the obstacle in 5 seconds. All for a grand prize of about $16,000.

Apparently he's also the only person to get to the last stage of the Viking obstacle course (also produced by Sasuke, ESPN shows episodes every once in a while) as well. THAT one actually looks fun from what I've seen.

And yeah, Domino Hill is evil. How the hell that acrobat chick makes it look so easy I have have no idea.

My interest was peaked. I caught some of this action on YouTube... SWINGING Cliffhanger? That's the finger grip part before the released bars right? Wrong isn't a strong enough word for trying to do that Swinging.

I think I read on DVDR in order to make it tough, on stage 3, they made a SWINGING Cliffhanger. That's just WRONG....

On Ninja Warrior? Unless it's for the new year that hasn't made it over yet, I haven't seen it. The last year they had the Cliffhanger followed by a series of parallel bars you had to swing across. Is that what you mean? A Swinging Cliffhanger would be pretty much impossible. Trying to get a grip on a 1/2 inch metal outcropping while it's moving? Yeah, ok I don't see any winners this year.

I read it happened in the latest one that hasn't aired yet. That's what they said though. So we'll see...

More of the Woman of Ninja Warrior today. That swinging bar obstacle was pretty interesting. The champ and the 13 year old are ruling the course. All they have to do is pass Domino Hill....uh oh.

Yeah, I could have sworn I saw Nagano on another similar obstacle course show awhile back, and he was getting farther then anyone.....that course looked even harder then anything on Ninja Warrior.

After rereading the DVDR thread, I realized I made a mistake on the Cliffhanger thing. In this upcoming one, you have to SWING and LEAP to the next part of the cliffhanger...

FUCK THAT'S EVEN WORSE!

Ninja Warrior Marathon all weekend on G4. Pretty entertaining. Makoto Nagano remains the goddamn man.

Rie Komiya is incredibly hot.

I'd also say Ayako Miyake is as incredible as Makoto Nagano.

I'd also like to add that I am fully convinced that Makoto Nagano IS a ninja. The Ship thing is just a cover up for his actions assassinating all those that oppose his bosses.

My favorite Ninja Warriors

1. Yamada- "Mr. Ninja Warrior" is the guy you just want to see win.

2. Nagano- Dude's a beast and is the front runner to always win

3. Kinnikun- ...he's just cool.

4. Shingo Yamamoto...the gas station manager

5. ...the damn name slips me, but it's the 50 year old tv narrator who always seems to come close to finishing stage 1

I always seem to catch the show whenever they are just on the first stage. I did see comedian Korikki Choshu on an ep though, which I got a bit of a kick out of.
