Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted June 23, 2002 The only classification mixup that irks me is the following: Calling Bluegrass(banjos and fiddles, GOLD) "Redneck Music." It is NOT Redneck Music.
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted June 23, 2002 So where would Pantera fit then? I don't think it would be Thrash Metal? Or are they just in a classification of themselves, like HEAVY FUCKIN METAL!
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted June 23, 2002 Some bands defy classification. Pantera, Black Label Society, Corrosion Of Conformity, Ozzy Osbourne...etc. Those are the bands that can just be called "Heavy Metal."
Guest Insanityman Report post Posted June 25, 2002 Interesting conversation, I've had a few like that but with what's punk and what's not. First off SOAD isn't punk (least in my opinion). Granted I don't listen to much metal, I still like "nu-metal" as you guys call it but I can tell when it's harder metal and when it's the "nu-metal". I like Mudvayne, I like Slipknot, I also like Pantera, Slayer, Judas Priest, etc. I just don't see the clashing problem unless they go away saying, "The new Sum 41 song is so metal, I mashed pit to it!" (yes mash pit).
