Scroby 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2007 Here are the results for the California Championship Wrestling show that happen on June 2nd. I didn't make the show due to Devil Mountain Wrestling having a free show on the same date and since that is my home promotion, I did DMW instead of CCW. So I copied these results directly from a CCW source. The heat was on both outside and inside the CCW Event center at the FDES Hall in Newman CA as 240 noisy fans cheered on a fantastic card that built up a lot of events that will lead to next month's super-spectacular ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY SHOW for CCW! First of all, there was a major announcement to make: due to "suspicious circumstances" (a rumor was circulating around the arena that the Syndicate may have disabled Malachi's vehicle by cutting the brakes), Malachi, Luster the Legend and Shane Dynasty were all unable to make it to the match, and the match between Big Ugly and Malachi for the title was suspended. However, since, as Buddy always puports, he is the master of the contract, he was able to modify the existing title contract between Big Ugly and Malachi to become a title defense between Big Ugly and Syndicate Member Ryan "CA Crippler" Drago! The first match featured an unusual sight-- Rik Luxury featured in an opening match against Kenny K. Rik was obviously FURIOUS at being "demoted" out of title contention and back into an "ordinary" match that didn't feature a title against Kenny K. The talented street-wise star Kenny didn't stand a chance against the raw visciousness of Rik, who at one point seemed like he would not be satisfied unless he ripped the spine right out of Kenny K's back! Rik made short work of Kenny K but vowed to the booing fans that he would make his presence known later that evening! After that match, CCW debuted a new talent named Drake "Hammerhead" Jones against Super Otaku. Jones came to ringside with a football in hand and a River City Football Jersey, and a yellow flag in his back pocket. Telling the fans that he already had acheived greatness on the High School Football Field when he scored 5 touchdowns in a game, certainly didn't endear himself to the fans. Otaku continued his colorful display of fast moving techniques and crazy anime-type action. However the sheer size and power of Hammerhead proved to be too much for Otaku and he crushed the pink-haired masked man with a 3 point stance & devastating spear manuever to get the victory. He compounded his display of poor sportsmanship by taking his football and spiking it on the defeated Otaku after the match was over! The following match included another new wrestler by the name of the skateboard-toting Jason McTwist against the human video game, R-Cayde. R-Cayde was obviously upset at his recent losses and has translated that into becoming even more devastating in the ring with new holds and moves that NOBODY had ever seen before. One of them was a bizzarre shoulder breaker combined with a head scissors and vertical sitting leg lock (The author has seen plenty of unique holds but even after the match I asked R-Cayde what it was and he rattled off some bizarre name I should have written down!). Needless to say the young talented newcomer McTwist was not able to defeat the crafty veteran R-Cayde, who continues to stay in contention for the Westside and Heavyweight title! The next bout started out as an unfortunate set of circumstances for Rock Legend Scum Adam Thornstowe-- because of the missing tag partners of the Reno Scum Malachi, Shane Dynasty and Luster the Legend, poor Punk Adam was forced to enter a handicap match all alone against The Sotello Syndicate's BadApples Associates! The twin tag terrors took no time at all in attacking the hapless Adam, tossing him around the ring in an impressive display of coordinated power moves. Adam fought back in impressive fashion, even finding ways to have the twins hammer themselves accidentally or tossing each one of them out of the ring and diving on them. However the numbers game especially with the devious Buddy Sotello Esq. at ringside belaboring a hapless Ref Guido was becoming too much for Adam. Just when it seemed that the Syndicate was going to wrap up an easy victory, injured former CCW champion Vinnie Massaro unexpectedly left the commentator's booth and came out to ringside to offer Adam help as an impromptu tag partner! Despite Buddy's pleas to discontinue the match, ref Guido allowed the even-up of the tag situation which worked to Adam's advantage. Even though Vinnie risked his wrestling future by taking his injured hand in the ring to help Adam Thornstowe, the risk paid off with Vinnie and Adam winning the bout and sending the twins and Buddy backstage with their tails between their legs! After intermission, the following match was a Westside Title bout between NorCal Uncensored's Rookie of the Year 2006 British Messiah Timothy Thatcher w/Lord William vs Champion Virgil Flynn. The start of the match had to wait a good 2-3 minutes as the fans shouted USA, USA, USA at the top of their lungs!!! In what can easily be described as a 4-star match, the two talented young athletes tossed each other around the ring, which featured Thatcher's hard knock British assault and mat wrestling versus the explosive aerialbatics of Virgil...And of course no match is complete without Virgil's pattented cannonball splash! Even with the nefarious Lord William trying to interfere and distract the champion, it was not enough to save Thatcher from the fury of the perfectly executed 360 splash from the top rope by Virgil! However as soon as his hand was raised by ref Guido, Virgil was assaulted by a jealous Rik Luxury's Superkick and subsequent pair of back-breaker-over-the-shoulder pile drivers! Rik announced to the crowd that at the anniversary show that he intends to take the Westside title from the broken champion in a first-time ever 2-out-of-3 falls challenge match! Virgil had no choice but to agree not just to defend the belt's honor but his own as well! The crowd was in great anticipation for the final match between CA Crippler Ryan Drago and brand new champion Big Ugly! Buddy was doing the commentary and was not ringside but many of the fans could hear his shouts of glee and agony coming from the Comcast OnDemand broacast booth at the CCW Event Center! Ryan attacked Big Ugly right during the intensive cheers he was receiving during his "we will rock you" entry song! Ryan took no time in attacking the knee as he is known to do, but he was also quickly tossed out of the ring by Big Ugly who delivered some devasating chops and his famous atomic wedgie maneuver much to Drago's dismay! Big Ugly worked hard on Drago and the match went back and forth featuring some very innovative knee attacks by Drago and Big Ugly's massive power moves. Big Ugly's power was too much for Drago and so was his expertise as he reversed an ankle lock on Drago to make the CA Crippler submit instead!!! After the match, Big Ugly gathered all the kids around the ring and in a heartwarming display of fandom, all the kids chanted CCW, CCW, CCW-- and then Big Ugly made a huge announcement that stunned everyone in attendance- because of Vinnie's sacrifice in helping Adam beat the Syndicate, Big Ugly decided that Vinnie deserved a title shot at the belt he never lost in the first place except for injury...Vinnie of course accepted and the main event was set for next month's spectacular show! We are shaping up for the biggest card of the year, our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY SHOW on Saturday July 14, 2007 730pm at the FDES Hall in Newman, CA!
