Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released

Recommended Posts

You do realize that once the media has a guest they like, they call them back, right?

AUSTIN BEAT HER. A LOT. It's correct to say that she's not as relevant to Adams' death, but for fuck's sake, stop demonizing her.

Also, she would've worked with Adams during the Invasion.

Than the legal "experts talked about the possibility of a wroungful death suit against Vince. Chirst I know he likes to push big men, but its not like he's handing out roids in the locker room.

I know there's a story of Vince Sr. doing something like that floating around.

Vince Jr. just told people like Big John Studd and Roddy Piper that they needed to put on mass...

As long as Debra keeps whoring herself out to the media, they won't.

Since she's not getting paid, does that mean she's just a slut?

Debra most likely never met Brian Adams in her life.

Well, except when they were working on the same shows together.

Yeah, I stand corrected. I got my years mixed up. Turns out Debra and Brian Adams were in WCW at the same time in 97-98 before Debra jumped to the WWF. Also for the one week that Kronic got brought into the InVasion before they were sent home immediately.

Today's Atlanta Journal Constitution has a story today covering a battle in the division of the family's assets in the Benoit family tragedy. According to the story, since she didn't have a will, if Nancy Benoit died first her assets will go to Daniel's estate. Then, Daniel's assets would go to his half brother and sister in Canada, Chris Benoit's children from his first marriage, since they are his closest surviving relatives. If Daniel Benoit died first, the assets will go to Nancy Benoit's family. The story states that both Chris and Nancy's parents have hired lawyers to plead their respective cases and determine the order of the killings. The first court date is scheduled for later this month.

The story also states that "Georgia law stipulates that Chris Benoit is legally considered to have died first in the house. The intent of the 'Slayer's Statute' is to make sure neither the killer nor his heirs profit from their crimes." Ironically, if it is determined that Nancy died first, that is exactly what could end up happening.

It's possible that the medical examiner, Dr. Michael Heninger, may not be able to definitively determine the order of the deaths. In that case, I would guess that the assets would be split between the sides, but that is just a guess.

If Nancy's parents really fight that going to the 2 other children I find that pretty fucked up....

I don't understand how this could be anything but pure greed and/or spite from Nancy's parents towards Benoit's side of the family. It's not like they were Nancy's dependents or anything like that. It's been stated over and over that Nancy died about a day before Daniel did, and the margin of error just isn't that damn big.

I read that they do what Benoit's children to be taken care of, so I don't think it's anger because of what their dad did that is driving them to do this. I think they've suffered and they just want to be componsated.

That said, since all the evidence indicates Daniel died after Nancy I don't see how they really have a case. At best, the money will likely be split between the children and Nancy's parents, and since this is one or two million we're talking about, everyone should be happy.

I love how they put a disclaimer up about how they aren't trying to profit off of a tragedy. Yeah, it's just a horrible coincidence that we decided to sell these AFTER he killed his family.

Wow look at that...Debra was just on Fox. [sarcasm]Sure didn't expect to see that...[/sarcasm]

Oh boy, I thought we were done with the "bitch deserved it" posts by now.

Um ok.

I don't see this as a big deal. If we're going to get all up in arms about selling something directly associated to a tragedy then why not antique dealers who make money off of World War 2 items?

Antique collectors up to this point have stuff from a half a century-old tragedy, not half an hour ;)

We've also got a link down below to an Atlanta Journal-Constitution story about a Benoit family estate battle. Depending upon whether Daniel or Nancy died first, the estate either goes to Benoit's children in Canada or Nancy's family. Unless there is major new information to come out, since Nancy died first the estate will go to the children

f4wonline.

I'm actually surprised the Toffolini's are arguing over who died first. If Daniel did die first, it gives more weight to the theory that Nancy killed Daniel and Benoit killed her in retaliation before killing himself (which I'm sure more people would like to believe anyway)

If they do somehow discover that Daniel died first, you open up the possibility that people will start to question the investigation as a whole. You'll have more people call for the entire case to be revisited and all of the evidence to be reviewed. WWE would probably welcome that.

So Benoit murders Nancy first, and that benefits his children. I don't think that's a coincidence.

It probably was. I doubt he had an extensive knowledge of the Georgia legal system. Besides it was likely Nancy telling him she was leaving that set him off, so obviously he killed her first.

So will all his assets be "auctioned" off? After all the money and settlements are done, I wonder what will happen to all the belts and other wrestling related stuff he got throughout the years will go. I wouldn't be surprised to see a replica of the belts Benoit won that the companies usually give the guys after the won the title on eBay.

I don't think the company gives the guys those titles. From what I understood you had to pay to have it made yourself.

Same shit, different pile. A tragedy is a tragedy regardless of how fresh it is.

After reading the general thread and seeing a post about Batista's book and how it apparently buries wrestlers this got me thinking.

Will we EVER hear another positive story from and future WWE book about Benoit again? Or will the WWE instruct wrestlers to just not mention his name in their autobiographies?

The Associated Press

6:31 PM EDT, August 20, 2007

A lawyer for Chris Benoit's personal doctor suggested in court papers Monday that Benoit had a hormone disorder that permitted the amount of steroids he was prescribed before the pro wrestler killed his wife, son and himself in June.

Dr. Phil Astin's attorney, Manny Arora, said in a motion to suppress evidence obtained against his client that a federal agent failed to tell a judge who issued search warrants in the case about the legitimate uses of steroids.

Arora wrote that if the government had consulted a hormone disorder specialist, it would have learned that "the amount of medication in question was not excessive and would be medically appropriate based on the medical condition of Mr. Benoit."

"Had the magistrate judge known all these things, perhaps she wouldn't have issued the warrants, and there wouldn't have been a case here," said Arora.

"That's sort of what you have to prove: These could be used for a valid medical condition," he said. "That's the second-guessing we now do with these motions, because the government always wins the first round. It's a pretty high hill to climb, but I think we can climb it."

Arora did not elaborate on Benoit's condition. A spokesman for the U.S. attorney's office declined to comment.

Authorities have said Astin prescribed a 10-month supply of anabolic steroids to Benoit every three to four weeks between May 2006 and May 2007.

Anabolic steroids were found in Benoit's home, and tests showed Benoit had roughly 10 times the normal level of testosterone in his system when he died. Investigators have not given a motive for the killings, but the question of whether steroids played a role has lingered.

Testosterone can be used as part of hormone replacement therapy. Some athletes also have been known to use steroids to enhance their performance.

Astin has pleaded not guilty to federal charges of improperly prescribing painkillers and other drugs to two patients other than Benoit. Federal prosecutors plan a superseding indictment with new charges, but haven't said when they will act.

Last week, Arora asked a judge to throw out evidence seized from his client's west Georgia office on June 27. Monday's motion to suppress challenged the legality of raids on Astin's office on June 29 and his mother's home the same day.

Items also were seized from Astin's Carrollton office on July 9. A storage unit belonging to Astin was searched on July 6. Neither of the motions to suppress address those two searches.

The district attorney overseeing the death investigation has said Benoit strangled his wife with a cord, used a choke hold to strangle his 7-year-old son, then placed Bibles next to the bodies and hanged himself on a piece of exercise equipment in his Fayetteville home the weekend of June 22.

Astin is free on bail, but must remain in his home except under limited circumstances. A pretrial conference is scheduled for Sept. 18.

--Rey Mysterio was on Fox News today. They asked him about steroids and he said he had never taken steroids. They asked what would it mean if his name was released in an investigation and he said they would only find he was taking pain medication. He said the wrestlers of today were a different breed from their predecessors. Brian Kilmeade said Kurt Angle was four times the size he was in the Olympics and that he was a patient of Dr. Phil Astin (I hadn't heard that) and Mysterio didn't respond. Mysterio said the wrestlers are there to entertain and that's all they do, and he plugged SummerSlam. He said his connection with Astin was for pain medication due to his six different knee operations. He said he never knew Chris Benoit used steroids and even though he called him a very close friend, said they had never talked about steroids. Vince or John Laurinaitis really need to talk with everyone. It's already been reported that an investigation uncovered Oscar Gutierrez being prescribed both Stanozolol and Nandralone by Dr. David Wilbirt in Phoenix. The company already has a bad rep to the public and they really should encourage the wrestlers not to make it worse. Mysterio seemed uncomfortable when the question of steroids came up. I don't know if he wasn't coached and he panicked on the air. Mysterio is different in the sense he's a kids hero and perhaps the company would want him to deny, but if I had to guess, I'd guess different. When people representing the company go on TV like that and kill credibility, it hurts the company, particularly right now when the company needs to maintain whatever credibility it has.
