Burn Notice

Recommended Posts

Jeffery Donovan (Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2) plays spy, Michael Westen, that has been fired, or Burned, which is when the US Government freezes their accounts, and other things like that so they can't have a regular life anymore. Because he can't work anymore, Michael decides to use his knowledge from his previous work to help out regualr people that need it.

Since the show was on the USA network it was a semi-serious show with a few laughs. The show also had big name stars Bruce Campbell and Gabrielle Anwar as associates of Donovan. I found the show to be a mix of the shows The Equalizer and MacGyver. It was a good show with a lot of potential. I am really interested to see where the show goes. Plus it has Bruce fuckin' Campbell as a main character since The Adventures of Brisoce County, J.r.

I enjoyed the show a lot. I hope it makes it on the network because it is loaded with potential for actions and laughs. The storyline wasn't boring or complicated, the acting was refreshing and Campbell was excellent. Donovan hasn't been a ratings draw in his last two attempts so hopefully this is a third times a charm situation.

Looking forward to the next episode to see if it can keep it going.

The problem is that while the show was actually good, there's a lot of "detective/hero doing right thing for people" type shows on USA, so it might get lost in the shuffle, especially with Monk and Psych about to return.

I think the thing it might have going for it is he's not really doing it because it's the right thing to do or for the glory. He's doing it plain and simply for the money so he can get back his life. Plus toss in all his gadgets, more action than the other two, and you might just have enough variety and difference to separate it.

It'll be interesting though, just a question on how well it does from week to week.
