Guest Report post Posted June 16, 2002 Ya know I just finished watching Austin VS McMahon and its just funny how toward the end of the fued. The "end of an era" match, the looser leaves, well it took another 3 years, just about, since Fully Loaded 99 and Austin was the one to leave before McMahon ever did. It seems like that fued never did die, even to this day they still don't see eye to eye on everything. Did McMahon really win though in the end? Hard to tell but Id say they both lost. McMahon doesnt have his top draw, and austin is reduced to beating his wife and running from the cops. I still love the austin/mcmahon fued and all the memories even if I hate the man that is stone cold.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted June 16, 2002 They both lost, but Austin lost far more than Vince did.
Guest Report post Posted June 16, 2002 Honestly, the ones who lost the most were the fans. ???

Guest Report post Posted June 17, 2002 Once again, I'd say to take that beating his wife, on the run from the law thing with a grain of salt. Didn't it get pulled off Meltzer's website last night? And why isn't the media all over this? Austin was a huge star, and a crossover one too. I had family here last night who knew absolutely nothing about wrestling but when I mentioned Austin got released they were all pretty shocked. And if he walked out on WWE, good for him! They weren't doing shit with him anyways. Austin's better off helping jumpstart another promotion and creating some competition against the WWF than the role he was serving (main event star to put over fresh new talent). Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted June 17, 2002 You're forgetting, my friend, that most of these guys turn a deaf ear to Austin now, but listen and agree with everything Vince says and does.....
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted June 17, 2002 Unfortunatley Vitamin X, it the story went back up earlier today. And Meltzer called the tv station to confirm that the story did get reported on an NBC affiliate of San Antonio. As for why it's not getting more mainstream press is anyone's guess. But I think the mainstream media is far less occupied with wrestling than we think. Wrestling is just now what it was 2 years ago. The mainstream media just doesn't give a shit about this story for now. It'll probrably get "behind the front page" coverage. And everyone loses on this deal. The fans lose someone they loved. Vince loses his current top drawing card. Austin loses his job and some of his dignity with the way he has gone out. Although Austin probrably doesn't have to work anymore(hope he's saved up) so he didn't lose out as much as the fans or Vince. Austin did this because he liked it, and he hasn't liked it since January. He doesn't have to go to Jarrett and he doesn't have to start his own promotion. All he has to do is get his life back together. Hopefully he doesn't have a second marriage gone to shit. Right now I care more about Austin getting his shit straight with Debra and his life before I care about when I will see him next on tv. I hope this is all of Austin's fans first priority.
